Gordon being John's apprentice probably seems more unexpected when you've watched the movies as quickly as you. But for people watching these movies come out year by year, it was a huge fan theory. A lot of people pointed out that the hooded figure putting the key in Michael's eye at the beginning of Saw II was limping, which suggested it was probably Gordon.

Dr Gordon is such a real one, he really did act immediately as soon as something happened to Jill

Remember Strahm had a pen in his pocket at the start of SAW 5 but all his other items were removed? Some theorized Dr. Gordon put the pen in his pocket to give him a chance to survive the drowning trap Hoffman put him in.

John Kramer knew Hoffman would have what it took, to escape the reverse bear trap in the 6th movie. His REAL test was not making it Personal with Jill. Had he just left Jill Alone, he would have passed John's test and gone on to become the new Jigsaw Successor. Still you gotta give the man props for immediately diving for the Saw. He was fully committed to cutting his foot off to escape.

Bobby makes Jeff from Saw III look like a mastermind by comparison. Dude's brain is smoother than a billiard ball. His entire character can be summed up by his reaction to Joyce's death. He just sorta stands there, calls her name, puts his arms up, and makes a sound you'd expect from someone who just had a lobotomy. Buddy straight up went "JOYYYCE!! Hhnngghh ahhh huuuhhhh!!"

Dr Gordon was the best thing about this movie. The other 2 pig masks were supposed to be the brothers from the public trap at the beginning of the movie. It’s been an incredible journey watching these movies with you!

When I saw this one in the theaters as a kid on Halloween, I was truly satisfied and grateful of how the franchise ended at the time, especially when Gordon revealed himself to have survived! Definitely give Jigsaw and Spiral a watch after Saw X.

Good things about this: -Brad and Ryan's trap had a satisfying conclusion -The racists' trap (featuring the dearly departed lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, as Evan; RIP) was elaborate AND spectacularly gory, a real stand-out -21:25 Jigsaw serving his best Slim Shady. -We finally get to see the reverse-bear trap actually kill. -Cary Elwes as Dr. Gordon, chewing the scenery. (Basically only the beginning and end are good rofl) Bad things about this: -Bobby Dagen is bar none the most annoying Saw character of all time. I just didn't connect with him at all unlike other people who have went through the traps. Still, there's no way John could've hated him more than William Easton to save him for last; compare Bobby to how complex William's character was written and I would have rather they switched movies they were in so the original 7 movies ended on a high note. -The movie really suffers because the one big trap that is followed through the entire movie (Bobby's) isn't as interesting as the two unconnected ones I mentioned above. The watered-down A-plot means the story has to give way to the B-plot of trying to catch Jigsaw/Hoffman, leading to a somewhat impaired Saw experience. -Matt Gibson just wasn't a good enough opponent for Hoffman, nothing at all compared to Strahm or even Rigg. -Hoffman entering into his garden-variety slasher era really shows that he doesn't have the patience or meticulousness to be Jigsaw's true heir. -Kevin Greutert suddenly forgot how to direct Betsy Russell as Jill in some scenes...lmao, but also it's pretty disappointing considering her awesome moment in Saw VI (another reason why Saw VI > this) -The 3D shtick really didn't age well.

I remember bf this movie there were SOOO MANY people with the theory of Gordon helping Jigsaw. People were analyzing the shit out of past movies. The surgery footage etc. people talking about the person limping etc. So you can guess the fans' reactions seeing they were RIGHT!

Congrats on getting through the timeline. In John's mind Jigsaw is not a person but an ideology, a pyramid system, John was the founder but always saw himself as a cog in the machine that needed to continually be replaced.. it truly makes John's final words from the morgue all that more scary.. "The games have only just begun!" because even if you're one of his students you don't know how many others are around you.. Amanda and Hoffman were never true students, they were murderers and what did John always say how he felt about murderers

I can confirm the movie looks a lot better in 3D. I never had an issue with the color timing until I saw some clips on KZfaq and realized Lionsgate messed up the home release badly. Fortunately, I still own a 3D set up at home, so that's the only version of the film I ever watch when binging these movies. As for the film itself, I always enjoyed it and thought the hate it gets from some fans is unwarranted. Granted, Joyce's death was off putting, Chad Donella's performance was... something, and I would've liked a little bit more insight into Dr. Gordon's motivations, but I think it's one of the better paced, more gruesome and shamelessly fun installments in the franchise. Hoffman's revenge plot, the irony behind Bobby's trial, and the ending are strong enough positives to outweigh the issues I have with it.

You are funny as hell, Cole. There is no one better to watch Saw with. Absolutely loved your comments about Jigsaw in the backwards cap.

The twist of Dr Gordon being an accomplice was theorized since Saw II was released, so it's not really a great twist to many. It is, however, refreshing to see someone that had no prior knowledge enjoy it without committing to the community's years of speculation. Saw 7 is probably my least favorite, but they do improve in the later installments. I can already tell you'll love Saw X and I look forward to your thoughts on it.

In case no one else has mentioned it, Gibson was played by the guy who played Tod in the first Final Destination. I was so excited to see my Saw V guy survived. Wish he had a speaking part so we could see how his life was affected. I loved Jill, so I was sad when she died. And we had to watch her die twice because of the dream sequence. Now that you’ve made it to this movie, I can finally talk about why I think Adam has to still be alive. I know people are saying that the guys from the beginning of this movie are who is supposed to be in the other two pig masks, but I feel like they could always change that later and make one Adam. Because Dr. Gordon promised he’d come back for him. Adam saved his life by getting Zepp with the toilet lid thing, so Gordon kinda owed him. Also, Adam’s test was to survive until 6, which he did. Gordon was supposed to kill him by 6, so technically, he failed. Also, at the end of Saw III, Amanda admits to being a murderer because she supposedly killed Eric Matthews as well as Adam, but John tells her he despises murderers and that she’s not one because he cleaned up her mistakes. Mistakes with an s. And Saw IV did show Matthews still alive, so Adam’s gotta be. Also, there’s a deleted scene that shows Amanda and Adam meeting on the stairs when he’s about to take pics of Gordon and she’s about to hide in his closet, and they were kinda flirty. Kinda irrelevant, but that was an interesting fact because I recently learned it, and I’ve had the idea that him and Amanda would’ve liked each other for a while, so that confirmed it. Oh, and in another deleted scene, when she’s about to kill Adam, John gives her a suspicious look, which they didn’t put in the finished movie, but the director thought it was important enough to include. There’s other stuff about the cuff being on the wrong foot of his decomposed body anytime they’re back in the bathroom, and that’s a pretty big thing to get wrong. There are other good reasons, too, in The Film Theorists video about it. That video made me 99% sure he has to still be alive. Anyway, can’t wait for more reacts. I’ll definitely be here for Saw X, Jigsaw and Spiral. I went ahead and watched Trick ‘r Treat for when you reacted to it. I hated it, not gonna lie, but I know I’ll still have fun with your react. As for other horror franchises, I think Paranormal Activity would be a great one. Also, if you have time to squeeze in Talk To Me, that movie is wild. People are calling it the best horror movie of this year, and it was made by KZfaqrs.

It’s been so cool getting to see you go through this franchise! Excited to see you react to Saw X, it definitely was one of the best in the entire franchise. Doctor Gordon was such a nice twist! I think the other two people wearing the pig masks might be some of the other survivors. Maybe some that see the good in what John was doing.

Hoffman might be still alive cause in film when they cut to black, It means that the person hasn't died. They left 7's ending very open to Hoffman being alive. He's cunning enough to escape the reverse bear trap, so he could easily break his ankle to escape the bathroom. Id love to see a Saw movie where Hoffman amd Gordan battle it out and set traps for their comrades on the way.

Honestly, I've been waiting weeks to see your reaction to the Doctor Gordon reveal at the end of this movie and you did not disappoint.😂 While this might not be the strongest Saw film overall, it was still solid, and provided one of the best twists in the series, imo. I just watched Saw X this past weekend, and I'm sure you'll love it. It takes place between Saw and Saw ll(My two favorite Saw films.😁)

I think that the First Game and the Game of the fake Jigsaw survivor were made by Gordon and not by Hoffman, because Hoffman was already hunting down Jill and there was no way he could do more games with so little time.

It's Todd from Final Destination as Matt Gibson :D. The thing is, John Kramer should of at least expected with Hoffman being an escape artist, that he may find a way to escape that trap. But this Hoffman is fucking AMAZING. My favorite Saw character right next to John Kramer :D. This is the PERFECT ending and Dr. Gordon coming back to put Hoffman away in the Bathroom game. But the thing is? I could see Hoffman putting something in the Bathroom, thinking 20 steps ahead like John Kramer in case something did happen after he killed Jill. The Hoffman actor keeps saying that Hoffman isn't dead and I mean, after all? He was just left there to rot and we know that Hoffman is an escape artist :) . The Dr. Gordon actor hates these movies because he was kind of screwed out in the first movie money wise. I can't wait to see you react to Jigsaw when you get to it. That's one of my personal favorites and that twist completely got me in that movie.

Dr Gordon was hinted at being involved with Jigsaw throughout the series. In the Saw 2 opening trap, when Michael watches the tape of the key being sewn into his face, the hooded figure has a limp. In Saw 5/6, we see Jill delivering the envelope in the hospital. Unfortunately his actor fell out with the Saw producers over money. After the lawsuit was settled, he agreed to come back, but only for the final film. He's since confirmed that he's never returning to Saw. As for the other two pigheads, its something left over from the original scripts. Saw 7 and 8 were planned to be filmed back to back, but where condensed into one rushed script after Saw VI underperformed. In the original, Brad and Ryan's public trap was meant to be a flashback set after Saw 1, and would be Dr Gordon's first game. (it was also originally supposed to be set ontop of a building, where the trap would push one of them off), it would have been revealed that they had been helping since then, and where the two assistant pig heads. But since their story was all scrapped in the condensed script, the identity of the pigheads was left a mystery and up to viewers own interpretation. A lot of people like to believe that Daniel Matthews or Adam was one. Also in the original scripts, Dr Gordon would have recruited other survivors from the help group. They would have been present in the bathroom when they chain Hoffman up there.

yeah dude that was funny seeing jigsaw with a hoddie and a backwards cap just like hoffman using that dead women's head to nod towards the door and when he said to jill in that dream the problem killing you is i can only do it once that was ruthless and funny , i enjoyed that ending!

I know I’m in the minority but I really enjoyed this one! Bobby’s traps were pretty solid and the ending twist was so good! And honestly, the public first trap was so cool to me! If we take Saw 2 out of the equation, this is the only other thing I remember from any of the other movies at all. Lol Definitely hated that Jill and Bobby’s wife died. 😢 So excited to watch Saw X with you! I’ve seen bits and pieces and it’s a good one. 🙌🏻

Now you should watch Jigsaw and Saw X, in that order. Leave Spiral for the last one; it doesn’t continue the story of John Kramer, so it’s an stand-alone movie.

I absolutely love this video and your reaction! You should watch Saw X next! The movie is amazing and great in my opinion. But Spiral and Jigsaw are not really great movies in my opinion, but you should also watch Jigsaw to get more context about John Kramer.

This has been excellent - hope you enjoy the others (I certainly loved Saw X) - what’s next? Well, we like to watch you pop your eyes in horror then laugh like a maniac, so if you haven’t seen them, go Italian horror and do the Gates of Hell trilogy. Also; Saw the game is worth trying to stream but, un-cheesable puzzles might make it very frustrating. (I never finished it, but would say worth a look!)

I don't think this movie is as bad as everyone says it is. Sure, the acting can be pretty silly at times and some pretty goofy dialogue, but I still actually like it. I mean, this is the film where Hoffman goes full "Hoffmanator", and that's just awesome! We even got Chester Bennington! Bobby's game actually wasn't that bad. I just wish he could've saved at least 1 person to change things up a bit, and definitely not have his wife die! This movie suffered a lot from studio interference. It was originally going to be 2 films, Saw 7 and Saw 8, but was changed at the last minute so Kevin Greutert, Marcus Dunstan, and Patrick Melton worked their asses off to try and re-write it within the very VERY limited time they were given before they had to start filming. Also, Kevin wasn't even supposed to be involved. David Hackl, the production designer of 2,3, and 4 and the director of 5, was supposed to direct but Twisted Pictures dismissed him and forced Kevin to direct it......2 weeks before filming. I still think they did a decent job wrapping up the series considering all of these issues. It's definitely a better film than Jigsaw.......that one just.....it played too much on nostalgia and it makes ZERO SENSE, but it revived interest in the series so that's some good that came from it. As for some fun trivia, the "public execution" trap actually had a different ending. The same guys survived, but the camera would pan into the back of the crowd and show John Kramer with Dr. Gordon. This was supposed to be Dr Gordons first trap that he designed.

Also wanted to point out with how much I HATED Simone in this movie. While I don't expect every person who has survived a Jigsaw trap or test to be "grateful" or "thankful," she had NO right to belittle or berate Sidney the way she did at that Jigsaw Survivor group meeting at all! Had she not had been tested, she and Eddie would STILL be ripping people off and continuing their shenanigans. Simone should consider herself lucky to even have the privilege to be still alive at all! She's lucky to have "handicap parking at the damn mall" lol.

The real big issue I have with this movie is they kill an innocent woman in the most brutal way possible. Cooked to death in a brazen bull trap. Was pretty cool to see the aftermath of a reverse bear trap. Also in case no one else said it the other two pig masked guys that were with Gordon are apparently the two guys that were in the opening trap.

Like lots of others have said, the Dr. Gordon theories were rampant for years! I think they probably would have brought him back sooner, but there was a contract dispute between the powers that be and Cary Elwes (Gordon’s actor) after the first movie. If I recall, it went on for a few years. So glad we got him in the end though!

The two pig masks working for Lawrence at the end were the two guys from the public execution trap at the start of the movie. This movie was meant to be in 2 parts but the studio decided that wouldn't work so they mushed the two plots together.

feels weird? I cant imagine the pain of having a litteral FISH HOOK getting pulled through your stomach and throat. I would think logically the damage done by the hook on its way out would kill her either way if she is not in a hospital within seconds.

I hope that you will watch Jigsaw and Spiral, especially the former, one of my favorites. As for two Pighaeds along with Doctor Gordon, if to believe creators's commentary, those were Brad and Ryan from this public trap.

To answer your question, the other two guys with Gordon were confirmed by the writers to be the two guys caught in the public execution trap, and that Gordon and a then alive John Krammer were supposed to be revealed to be present. Dunno if those shots were cut, but if they were, they should have remained.
