Received mine yesterday. Great system. I can say that this is better than my old 5.1.2 system with dedicated AV receiver from Pioneer Elite with 2 floorstanding speakers, 1 center, 2 bookshelf surround speakers, 2 bookshelf rear height speakers and Elite subwoofer. Dolby Atmos is pretty impressive. I had to turn the subwoofer volume at its minimum.

@@ThePhenomenal83 Its terrible. i bought it to replace a entry level system and still was disappointed. The subwoofer hits to 40hz lol like some bookshelves. The balance on soundbar is terrible. I watched few tv shows on it but highs are so low quality that they make ears tired. There is no body when using this soundbar. Im guessing something was missing in the higher bass region. I sold it after 3 months and returned to old denon 1912 avr which was colossal difference

Rear speakers are supposed to be placed behind the sofa, with main element aimed at an angle towards your ears and the extra elemente aimed toward the side walls (at an angle as well) Top Fieimg speakers are tilted as well to not shoot straight up into ceiling. Speakers are to be at ear level or slightly above

When I moved in to a smaller place with my girlfriend I had to lose my 5.2.4 system with pioneer elite , but I did it knowing I was going to get the best soundbar I could. I really feel like I got everything I needed. The Atmos works great and DTSx is out of this world. Considering my old Pioneer Elite alone was 1500 , I would of bought this 5 years ago if it existed . I’m totally happy and the girlfriend finds it looks clean and had nothing to complain about visually. I ordered the Q90a 85” from Value Electronics to match with Q Symphony and can’t wait for that to come in to see what it adds. I am totally happy with this.

Hey, How’s your experience with q symphony? I am getting a qn85 85” TV in 2 weeks. Still thinking should I get this sound bar too. So I am curious about your tv and 950a sound bar experience in past month. Does tv speaker works well with sound-bar without lag?

@@Abhishek_Dubey28 you will not regret it. First of all it fits perfect if your using the stand. Sound is amazing! I also have Apple TV so I could get Dolby Atmos through all my apps if it’s available on the actual movie. Now the bar plays Dolby Dtsx but the TV doesn’t, so I have the blueray player directly to the bar and no problem , especially with movies like The Harry Potter Collection. But the tv will not play through qsymphony then. But in reality your not losing much , it’s still fantastic. Then when you play a movie with Dolby Atmos the tv and sound bar create a bigger sound stage . I’m still awed when a good movie with a great Atmos mix is playing.

Try putting the rear speakers at the back instead at the side, you will get better surround sound. That's my setup

Without doubt the leading soundbar for surround sound in 2021 far superior for movies and TV than sonos arc, bose and k 1200

Thank You, Shane!! So happy with the system. Have an older Series 6 55". Tried the Sonos Beam but was unable to pair the Satelite speakers and took it back. The soundbar is slightly superior to Samsung, overall, Super Happy. I guess the latest QLED tv would really match the system . . . any comments out there? We do not have yet the 950A in France, this is why your kind of reviews is important in order to give first impression. Those surraound speakers should be placed further back where you sit, not side of the couch. Makes huge difference, but not all have that big rooms to drag their couches more in middle of the room.

I just got the 900a and it sounds amazing. The only complain I got is the fabric cover. You basically need a lint roller to clean it

Just got mine yesterday for $949 plus tax from bestbuy. I agree I hate the cloth, but for the price I got it for, can’t ignore it. I just wish someone made a video on the nitty gritty of what to turn on and off in the settings of the tv who doesn’t have a 2021 high end Samsung tv. I have a Sony 75 X950H. Idk what I’m doing in the settings of the tv. And I’m also not sure if I wired the Earc correctly either. Just wanna make sure I have all those things right so I know what I’m hearing is the best sound possible for this system. I also couldn’t get airplay 2 to work.

@@steverodgers9206 first of all cool name. Also good price. First thing you have to do is make the cable runs to both earc ports. Also download the smart things app and connect your bar there. You don't have to have a high end Samsung tv. I have a Hisense, and it's an Android tv like Sony

I will agree with this comment. I have last years Samsung soundbar, which also has the display, on top as opposed to being in the front. Which drives me crazy, and I’m not sure I can wait until avr’s start to release while fully supporting hdmi 2.1… but I hope, I can wait for that, which I really don’t see being that hard. I mean it’s a pain, but I can live it with it, for just 1 more year.

@@anthonyjenson764 haha you know what that is actually a good question, the only problem is that then the Atmos or 3d sound would be a bit weird, or just wouldn’t work, if you wall mounted it, since in order for the display to be facing you, you would have to flip the sound bar, so the display, was facing out at the viewer… which still wouldn’t work…

@@Ryand0523 I wanted to just clear the doubt actually, as there are yamaha soundbars which you can place on table or you can wall mount, it has a gyroscope ( i guess), it detects its position and do the adjustment accordingly...

Samsung needs to work on their shitty subwoofer. And no samsung does not make the best soundbars - they make soundbars full of bugs and then only fix 70% of the issues AFTER it’s out to the public and then move on to the next one. Samsung is just cash and grab soundbar and that is all.,

Had the SN11RG a few months before having to return it due to signal cutoffs on the rear and sub… loved it when it worked. Are these disconnect issues fixed?

sure need more space, but, to get best results, the soundbar manual says something like 135º to 145º angle for the rear speakers toward the ears of a listener seated at the center of the couch

I to have the q90r and it’s impressive. I skipped the q950t because I’ve heard multiple ppl say the 90 was better but the 950A has been blowing ppl away. I’m tempted to give it a go

For some reason I liked the design of the Q90R better. It looks more sturdy, it has the display on the front and it still holds the highest rank on rtings.com.

@@Pdossou32 was in the same boat. I had a Q90R and upgraded to this and don’t regret it. It’s more immersive but most important there’s zero disconnect issues and the center channel is far far better.

I have a q750 and would like an upgrade. Sound is decent although subwoofer can be underwhelming. We do get a dropout or 2 per movie for a few seconds and it is frustrating. Thanks for the review.

Some advice would be very much appreciated. I have sound mode set to STANDARD. Sound output [AV]SOUNDBAR Q950A. Bass boost OFF. When watching a 5.1 movie, there is no sound from the rear speakers. I thought STANDARD was used to play back whatever you are watching in it's native format, in this instance a 5.1 movie. The rear speakers do work for me when in SOUND MODE I select surround, game, or adaptive. Is this correct? Is that normal? Or am I doing something wrong? Am I misunderstanding STANDARD? Thank you to anyone in advance.

I have the q950a and I wasn’t impressed with the subwoofer of Samsung so I eliminated the subwoofer and put 2 Klipsch subs onto my q950a soundbar and rear speakers and let me tell you, It’s a whole lot better!! You feel the action in movies by giving you chills every time the bass just hits!! I’m way more happier now 😊 if you want to know how I did it and what I use to connect the 2 subs on to my soundbar and rear speakers just reply on here and I’ll send you a video of my setup through text

I’m a firm believer in investing in avr/speakers. I had to return st5000 due to distortion on center channel. If you think about it, too much dialogue/action for soundbar to process.

Honestly the sound for me is still next to none for me..I've not heard the Sennheiser ambeo or the Nakamichi yet, which people are saying are the best out there.. I'll definitely like to heard them and compare for myself

AVSforum consensus seems to be if you already have the T, the 950a is definitely not worth the upgrade.

I would have bought this if they fixed 2 things.. 1) the display on the top is the worst idea ever, and 2) the shabby looking (dust collecting) cloth that covers the soundbar. Because of these two issues, I went with the Q870A, and couldnt be happier !

Can you make a detailed video on your setup like where are all your wires and everything are going because I set mine up and I had to do it through Bluetooth only because my HDMI cable just didn't seem to work on my TV I'm not sure if I hooked any thing up wrong or not I've never had an issue with hooking up speakers before cuz I'm pretty tech savvy

Yes it will. That was my concern before buying but assured from an AVS forum that it did. My LG TV picks up the signal fine.

@@aceboogie5819 Do you have to manually select HDMI input for the soundbar using the soundbar's remote (from TV-ARC source input), or does it auto-switch when you go to the hdmi input on your tv that the soundbar is connected to? Or can you do that through your tv (assuming you have a Samsung TV)?

is eARC TV needed for this one? I have a 65" LG C7, waiting for prices to drop a bit to get the 77" C1. Does eARC even matter? I understand Netflix and other streaming services don't even stream lossless Atmos so why is eARC even important?

@@jollama I can forgive that, could be due to driver placement/spacing, or aesthetic choice, to "not be distracting". Better places would be on the remote itself, but least it isn't just a bunch of status leds i guess.

Nobody seems to place the rear speakers correctly. They're supposed to be facing in at 90 degrees from the wall toward each other, not angled out into the room. Like in a movie theater.

That's false. There's already side firing drivers in the soundbar to simulate speakers on the side walls. The rear speakers are to be placed 135 - 150° in the rear.

Dear sir have you noticed in surround sound mode frant left & right channel are muddy sound and both channels sounds goes in canter channel that’s is loosing sound quality. Pls update to Samsung engineer to improve that DSP sound quality for premium sound.

Hi I know you have Trinnov, physical disc sound better than streaming or ripping it to a system. So why are they getting away from format? You and other have said the disc sounds better. It makes no sense spending all this money if the key to the system is the disc or the source. If I'm wrong please explain, thxs

How does this compare to the 950T? Right now 950Ts are roughly $600 cheaper and I’m not seeing much that makes the $600 difference worth it, but I maybe missing something.

Mine is 950T, I think the new one has auto tuning based on room size. That’s the difference i managed to find.

the Ambeo is amazing for listening to music, great sound quality but lacks bass, the samsung is better for movies and games.

I agree with this first comment, also keep in mind sennheiser I heard is getting rid of their soundbar division soon (heard it from another KZfaq video) so you might not be getting support overtime with the ambeo. Plus yeah it’s just a soundbar, nothing else. And it’s crazy expensive $3K!

not as well, and it's already a mixed result. You'll get the sensation of spaciousness, but i doubt you'll hear any real localization above.

am pretty sure ambeo is the best sound bar but unfortunately ambeo don't have a subwoofer or rear speaker and that's why I think the Samsung is probably better.

I wanted to love this soundbar but it terribly handles 5ghz signals from wireless routers. You will hear crackling and popping noises because of this. Put this product through its paces before ur return period is up or else you will be stuck with it after paying well over a grand! Warranty claims or notorious for sucking the life out of you. I honestly don’t think Samsung’s R&D for these wireless soundbars are thorough enough.

@couldn't think of a usernameThanks bud. BTW surrounds of samsung. One of the caveats (Q950a) mentioned by Andrew Robinson: surrounds on q950a might disarrange the sound stage eventually ruffling your music experience(not movies).

Does somebody know or can tell me how to hook up a wired headphone when you use any kind of soundbar? This is my biggest issue.. (im a headphone freak) so i still want that option. And I dont see mutch Aux in, or Jack in on most Soundbars.

Hey I just bought this yesterday for a killer deal price matched with a local competitor at best for $949. I noticed you have a Sony TV. I have a 75 inch X950H. Can you please make a video on how to set it up and what stuff I need on or off for the tv and how to connect the ports. I got as far as connecting earc to soundbar, other end to earc tv and my new 4K Apple TV is plugged in the back of my tv. Idk what else to do. I also can’t get airplay 2 to work on it, the screen on my Apple TV just gets unresponsive when it try AirPlay. I’m so lost lol

Hey, did you finally figure out how to set it up properly? How is the sound? Do you like it or you think you should have gone with some other brand? I have the same tv as yours - the picture is just brilliant. No worse than OLED. They just have a bit darker blacks and overall a dimmer pictures. 950H is super vivid and bright. Great TV no doubt.

Aqui no Brasil ela tá por 7.5k, ela é consideravelmente melhor que a JBL 9.1, mas ao mesmo tempo é mais cara.
