hey, great video. i just got the Q90R soundbat - its great. I didn't even set it correctly yet. I'm using the soundbar only - the back speakers are not connected yet. My question - did the DTS x demo sound come with box? mine didn't. How do i set the sound correctly? tnx

Shane I have a question: I have Rane THX22 x2 & Rane THX44 equalizers for all 7 channels with a Rane RA-30 real time Spectrum analizer. My concern is I've spent a very long time sourcing these products to build a reference system that can recreate that pro THX cinema sound in the home. Some of the newer processors from Anthem, Emotiva etc have in built eq's. Do I disregard my gear? Or do I disregard the inbuilt EQ's? Or do I use both internal and external? What do you think is the best option to get the perfect sound? I really appreciate your knowledge and experience and respect your opinion, thanks Shane for your time.

Dont. Just dont do it. It's faulty, doesnt work right, loses connection between speakers, doesnt even give output on the subwoover and the rear speakers. Dont buy these, i regret it BIG TIME

How do you get the bar to display the output (4:29) or does it only display when it’s DTS:X? It doesn’t show Dolby Digital.

I had that same connection issue with my surround speakers for my sound bar as well. You have to change your WiFi frequency channel. Just contact your internet provider to do it. Once I did that I had no issues.

Please help spare change I have the Sony s t5000 sound bar I just purchased the Sony 310 bt turntable , I want to use the analog cables for connection from the turntable to the sound bar but I get very mute or no sound I have contacted Sony but they still can't figure out why do I need to use a dac amplifier in between that to hear sound helping do review on the Sony 310bt turntable

Great review Shane. I have the vizio 5.1.2 and I seem to have the same problem where the audio cuts in and out when streaming for me I notice it happens when I use Netflix it doesn’t do it while using iTunes. I also have the Linksys velop tri band. And for some reason my Sony A8G won’t display my Apple TV 4K when hdmi is set to enhanced.

I have this sound bar and I use it primarily for gaming. However, I’m torn between Surround and Game Pro mode. Surround upmixes ALL the audio to 7.1.4; Game Pro doesn’t really do any upmixing. Can I use Game Pro and turn Virtual on to upmix that? I can’t seem to find any info on sound modes and the Virtual option, at all. Suggestions/advice?

So what is the "correct way" to set up the surround speakers should the front and rear low speakers be around + 2 or lower and High speakers set to +4 or more ? Will the Atmos demo disk you use help with calibration ? By the way I have this soundbar with a QE75Q950R Screen and there is zero drop out on the wireless speakers so they have clearly fixed this issue.

Did the interference between the rear speakers and wifi router ever get completely fixed? I'd like to buy this setup, but my rear speakers has to be within 3 feet of my router..

I have the N950, which is almost identical, in an area with weak WiFi reception and never had any rear speaker dropouts until I put a Netgear Orbi in the room next to it. Now I get constant dropouts. So thanks for the tip. Now we just need a solution.

I am looking to buy the QA85Q80 85" Qled and matching with the HW-Q90 sound bar. My question is can you add more wireless speaker to this soundbar? I was thinking of getting the SWA-9000S/XY as side atmos speakers. What is your suggestion please? Also I have an old SAMSUNG system with wireless rear speakers SWA-5000 would these connect to the Q90 soundbar ? And utilise them. Thanks Todd

I chose the Nakimachi 9.2.4. Sound bar system. Its amazing! I have no regrets on buying the Nakimachi over the Q90R. The Q90R is impressive especially that huge front bar but I wanted a more immersive sound all around you and the Nakimachi gives that to you. Two two 10 inch subs is powerful but not overwhelming. You can’t really tell where the sub sound is coming from since it’s from both sides. The four rear and side speakers 🔊 🔊 🔊 🔊 can create that illusion of sound all around you. My friend has the Q90R and I’m kind if jealous I can’t have both. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 still no regrets.

I have to recommend the Definitive Technology Studio Advance or the older W studio(W studio had HDMI 1.4 the advance has 2.0 otherwise mostly the same) sound bar. They don’t support Atmos or DTS X but the sound quality is superior to many sound bars I’ve tried. The sub woofer is the star of the set up. It can get real low but is not bloated like most sound bar subs. I would love to see you review one to hear what you think.

I have this system with a Q90R 65" and it's great when you have a 4k blu ray with Atmos, but you don't notice much with standard 5.1 content on Netflix or other streaming sites. Though I can say it is much clearer than standard tv speakers in every situation. I never turn my tv over volume 25, and it goes up to 100. I can't imagine what that sounds like.

Have you tried the Samsung Q950t soundbar (this years model) yet? If you have what do you think, is there much of a difference between the Q90r, and the Q950t? Can you properly place the audio, or I should say, do things happening on the left actually sound like it’s happening on the left? Or is it more generic, where you should hear things on the side, and things in the center, and is the bass good, or is it kind of weak?

How did you test Dolby Atmos on the soundbar, since ARC does not support Dolby Atmos? I have a 4K Blu-Ray player, plus a 4K TV (LG Nano Cell 2019), plus sound bar; however, I cannot get the connection correct to get the Dolby Atmos (even as the Soundbar is displaying Dolby Atmos. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you Shane for the review! The return of the "crackle monster" as I call it. This is the same problem I had with the HW-K950, except the HW-K950 did it on ALL sources, including bluray. And if what you were listening to on the HW-K950 just so happened to be in DTS (which most of my blurays are), it paired down the audio signal to 2.0 stereo!!! Even after the firmware update, which was supposed to bump everything to 5.1 at least, it never worked. The crackle thing is still a bit worrisome, even if it only effects streaming content. It doesn't sound like Samsung has worked out all of the bugs of a surround soundbar system yet. Their second attempt is better, but I think I'm going to hold off to see if they can get it totally right on a possible third attempt. Thanks again for the review! You just saved me a good chunk of change (spare change)! vgv

yes it is 2.1 eArc. I do not believe the samsung tv's support it yet..but LG does...which is why I paired this with an LG c9.

I could care less about Dolby Atmos... its not like every single piece of content has dolby atmos anyway, this is like trying to get a 4k 6-7 years ago, when barely anything was 4k. Bose just sounds super clean and clear and no distortion in the bass 700... also the other big thing is the Bose 700 headphones now pairs with the soundbar. Awesomeeee cuz I wanna watch crazy loud movies late at night and instead of neighbors or people you may live with getting all pissy, you just watch movies with headphones, and i cant find any systems that output to headphones, it would require a separate device, but then you gotta fumble around disconnecting cables and the sound sucks anyways for whats out there. So def #1 the clean sound, booming base and #2 i can use my bose 700 headphones with it, and thats a huuuge plus for me

@@johnrocket117 it's very depend mate what and where are you playing from KZfaq all videos doesn't support surround sound.i am using it with Samsung 75inch Tv for Netflix search for Dolby Atmos for best sound experience. If you use xbox for streaming it has better audio output quality than tv.

p suri I plan on pairing this with my Samsung tv as well. Do you need to use the HDMI cable from bar to tv being there both Samsung ? Or you still need to use the HDMI.

Vinh Than - I also use the Netgear Orbi mesh system and concerned about this interference issue 10:19. Did you ever confirm this was a non- issue?

@@ONI1013. I gave Nakamichi 9.2.4 a try and was happy with sound though not so happy with their speaker sizes, exchanged for Bose 700 system, very happy with choice. Does get some int sounds from subs, not sure of root cause yet but it's very intermittent

Vinh Than - okay thanks for the follow up. Gotta just try the Samsung Q90R then with WiFi Mesh to see if it impacts. Thanks.
