Bhai Gurmit Singh Ji Virdee was one of the most talented Sikh tabla players of his generation. Young tabla players sat in awe listening to marathon long tabla playing during keertan programmes that ran for several hours.
Ustad Harkirat Singh Rayatt is a disciple (and son in-law) of the late Bhai Gurmit Singh Ji Virdee. He is passionate about performing, both with Kirtan and classically. He runs classes from Southall and Watford and has taught and inspired hundreds. He performs often, and has accompanied maestros such as Ustad Nishat Khan, Niladri Kumar, Purbayan Chatterjee, smt. Kala Ramnath, Pt Debashish Bhattacharya and many more.
