UPDATE: While I understand what you're going through in the Greenville area, personally I would take that over what NJ is going through. I just got back from my trip to Greenville and I have to say, Greenville is doing it right. Building up a sprawling community amongst the city, other states need to take Greenville's blueprint. While I understand why locals may not like it, it is the way to go about building. Beautiful city, and expanding suburbs with updated homes, beautiful landscapes with prices still in affordable range. Maybe because school's weren't in session yet, but traffic was non-existent, or far from what I'm used to. I loved the neighborhoods, the people. You should honestly be proud. The locals of Greenville were all helpful, very nice as I met a lot of people. The city, TR, Taylors, Greer all nice little towns as well. I wish I had been down there longer to experience more. Definitely considering relocating here!

Hello, me and my wife just moved to simpsonville from upstate NY last June. It was the best decision we have ever made and 100% recommend the move. Not only is the weather beautiful but our new neighbors and people we have met are so welcoming and genuinely nice. Such a breathe of fresh air compared to NY. @@MrEroc1983 I am so happy to hear that. We are on Long Island and want a place to live in those cold months. We spent 3 weeks at an AirBnB which was an 8-minute drive to downtown Greenville. It was great, we packed our car and the dog and took off. We made it our business to visit about 4-5 towns. We fell in love with TR. We like the ease of getting to the city...but choose to live a little further out. Unlike our Manhattan visiting Greenville is easy...I was blown away by how easy it was to park. The food was amazing. Smoke on the Water is a winner and The Lazy Goat was sublime. We're keeping our eyes open for a property.

There are beautiful areas, non HOA, make sure it's zoned. I hate HOAs, problem is, your home is one of your biggest investments. We were finding beautiful homes next to neighbors with multiple cars parked on lawns, driveways and with livestock. Trailer parks around the corner, no offense and we settled with a sub division. Sometimes rules are a good thing. Find a good realtor, and do drive-bys if you see something you like. Also lots of open country. Good luck, we're a military family also.

Your video is broken down quite well. I've done some research for the last 5 years on Greenville, and plan on coming down for the first time ever this year. I would like to relocate from NJ, but honestly want to see what it's all about before I do. I'm coming from NJ as a northerner yes, however I have lots of family in the south and have always respected southern values and southern way of life. They have unfortunately destroyed NJ's economy for blue collar workers and we can no longer afford to live here. 1 bdrm apartments average $2500/month where I live at the minimum. I own, but my property taxes are so absurd, I might actually have to sell my house. They just keep knocking down woods and building apartment complexes everywhere. Job growth is currently at a stand-still for the last couple of years and it will continue to be that way. From what Ive heard from people who have visited the Greenville area, they fall in love with it and don't want to come back home. I can't wait to come visit Greenville and see what it has to offer. Your video has definitely helped me in the research process.

It’s the same here. They’re tearing down all of our rural/undeveloped areas to build new communities and apartments. I live just outside downtown Greenville & the land across from us has been undeveloped for years. In the last 3 months they’ve put 5 new communities/apartment complexes within 2 blocks of my home. Our rents are skyrocketing, Groceries and gas are becoming unaffordable. Daycare is ridiculous-IF you can find a space, lucky if you can find one on your route.. the list goes on. The exact issues you’re describing, are in the works here too. XO- Greenville resident.
@zline-sp2fs

@@erikahaas9424 Thank you for the update. I am however coming Aug 11 to scope out the area. I still hear it's an amazing place to live. Aside from the building of complexes, here in NJ the blue collar worker has become non-existent. We've been priced out of the market, or if you're like me who own, are being priced out through taxes. Insurance and taxes have made it so we have to sell. I myself pay $20,000/yr in those 2 categories alone. From what I hear, the blue collar work force in SC is still able to at least live their lives a little without feeling too constricted. I hope SC, and the Greenville area don't ever get to be like that.
@zline-sp2fs
@zline-sp2fs Жыл бұрын
@@erikahaas9424 I also have to say, it sucks that they're tearing woods out to develop all of that. I'd be ok with those numbers if that were here. Unfortunately our area has gone from a population of 300,000 to almost 3.4 million in just 10 years with no end in sight. I know I'm just thinking about my personal agenda, but I'll take Greenville's population over central NJ any day. Anything would be a lot more quiet than where I live these days.

For local parks, they're very impressive. I came here in 2016 and moved to Paris mountain and there were trees everywhere. that's why I picked this side and now they've clear-cut a large portion of everything and put up three apartments. and I wholeheartedly believed this area is going to be exclusive. now I'm looking to live more remotely.
