If you are in the market for a new treadmill in 2022, this is our list of Best Treadmills. We’ve reviewed and tested each treadmill on this list. This video should help you decide which treadmill is best and what features and specs will be of most benefit to you. While they are all just a touch different, each one has unique features that make it a good option for various users. Take a look at the list below for links to individual reviews of each treadmill.
When looking for a new treadmill, there are a few key factors to consider to make sure you find the best one for your training needs and home. Evaluate the following questions to help narrow your search to those treadmills that will work best for you.
What kind of training do you plan to do?
If you are a marathon runner, you’ll need a treadmill with a powerful motor and lots of deck cushioning. Those who plan to walk may not need as much cushioning or motor power. Take a look at the motor on each treadmill and make sure it is sufficient for your intended usage. We recommend motors over 3.0 horsepower for regular running. Walking treadmills can support regular use with a 2.0-3.0 horsepower motor.
Do you want to pay for a monthly subscription?
Many newer treadmills include a touchscreen with training content included as a subscription. This keeps people motivated and more likely to continue to use the treadmill at home, but it also adds extra cost. If you don’t want to pay for a monthly subscription, we recommend looking for a treadmill that doesn’t have a touchscreen. You can’t access the internet or watch other programs on most touchscreens, they are designed to just display that particular subscription.
For those who want subscription content, there are lots of great options available at reasonable monthly rates.
What are the space limitations in your home?
Carefully consider your ceiling height and room dimensions where you plan to put your treadmill. Measure a potential treadmill from the point of highest incline and your tallest user. Make sure your room has high enough ceilings and plenty of space around the treadmill. Don’t place a treadmill near stairs, a door or drapes that hang down.
What is your budget?
Treadmills come in all shapes and sizes - and there is one for every budget. We recommend looking for the best treadmill in your price range. With fitness equipment, you get what you pay for, so be willing to make the necessary investment to get something you will use and enjoy. If you buy something cheap hoping you’ll use it later - chances are it may just end up being a very expensive coat hanger!
Do you have children or pets in your home?
Precautions should be taken for those who have pets or children. Don’t place your treadmill in a high-traffic area in your home and make sure you take necessary precautions to ensure your treadmill cannot be accidentally activated by children when you are not around.

@@LegendaryOldwarrior The Peloton Bike+ is on our list at #10. There are lots of things we love about the Peloton Bike+, however it is at the top of the price tier, requires a pair of Delta LOOK cycling shoes for every rider, and subscription fee for all programming. This combines to make it rather pricey which is a factor we take into account when making our list.

I got an NordicTrack x22i from the ICON fitness outlet in Ogden, UT. Great price, but no delivery. Had to pick it up there. We have fallen in love with it. I though you could only walk and run on treadmills. I had NO IDEA that the iFIT training included hikes, beach strolls, walking tours. It has been a game-changer for us. My wife was leery, but is now in love with it and looks forward to her daily 6am walks. One thing you forgot to mention is the incline trainers from NordicTrack can go up to 40 degree incline, which is amazing for various reasons.

Although im very tech savvy (it’s my profession), im solely interested in how well a treadmill handles running & sprinting. I may change my mind about the apps (esp if it helps to make training better) but the key is handling running. I’m going to have to look in more detail & focus on weighting the running , sprinting support as highest consideration

Thanks for the quality reviews. This is a good starting point. I am being pressured to look at treadmills again (since over ten years ago) for the home due to my wife and daughter. One wants to do aggressive long walks and the other is training for track and field sports in HS and needs sprinting and interval stuff. Several people mentioned that i stay away from cheap models. A colleague of mine recommended the Woodway Curve. It is expensive, and curved (obviously). I don't see any dialogue or reviews on curved tread mills, which are motor less. How do they compare? Who likes them and who doesn't? Have you reviewed them? No one is ever going to be heavier than 185 lb around here, so weight limit is not really an issue. Quality is, as is warranty support. We have installed a 43 inch display in the exercise room and plan on watching videos with speakers or headphones, so no costly / fragile / expensive display is needed, nor is an subscription service needed. I look forward to hearing your teams thoughts.

Great questions, we have reviewed the AssaultRunner Elite curved treadmill, you can check out our review on thoughts on it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hN-Zg9h-2J3FpHk.html If you're looking for a curved manual treadmill Woodway is one of the best brands out there, as you know, but they are very expensive. TrueForm and TechnoGym also have curved treadmills that are worth looking at. Our favorite right now though is the Assault Runner Elite because it's a high quality treadmill with a little bit more affordable of a price point compared to the other brands. A curved manual treadmill will be great for sprints and interval training but my main concern is your wife wanting to go on long walks. Manual treadmills for sure can be used for that but there is a bit of a learning curve to use them. Walking can definitely be done on them but it's a little bit harder to zone out and just walk on one of these compared to a normal treadmill, if that makes sense. Let me know if you have any other follow up questions, thanks!

I truly love your reviews! Very informative, throughout and detailed. I've watch each and every one of your extended video's and must say, I'm impressed. With that said, I find myself to be stuck between the Sole F85 (non touchscreen version) and Horizon 7.8 AT. I don't care for the touchscreens or bells and whistles of a treadmill. I want a good quality, long lasting treadmill that I can rack up the miles on. For that reason, why did you rank the F85 second and the Horizon 7.8 AT 4th? Was it only because of the touchscreen update?
@TreadmillReviewGuru
@TreadmillReviewGuru 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! In our opinion, the F85 is better built than the 7.8AT. While they are both excellent options, if I were to purchase one for my home, I would go with Sole every time. The Horizon console is a bit cluttered - there's a lot going on. While the functionality is good, we prefer the feel and console layout of the F85 (even the non-touchscreen option). It's just easier to use.

@TreadmillReviewGuru
@TreadmillReviewGuru 2 жыл бұрын
7 Feet is pretty low. The lowest step up height we see on a treadmill is usually 8 inches or so. If the treadmill inclines at all, it will lift you really close to the ceiling. The smallest treadmills include the ProForm City L6, Botorro R5 or Echelon Stride. Have you considered an exercise bike or rower? You may find those fit better and with the new touchscreens and content, you can still get a great workout! Just something to consider.

I have an X10 which is still going strong ( 10+ years except the resistance bands which failed years ago) but only has the very early version of IFIT using an audio plug . The only reason I am holding off is because I want to see what happens to prices this year as people's lives return to normal. There was such a surge in exercise equipment sales which drove up prices in 2020 and I expect this to lead to a price drop at the end of 2021 when much of this equipment starts being sold off on the used market as people return to the gym. I'll still buy new but maybe get a few more bells or an extended sub for the same $

Same could be said of the nice light/dark contrast between the silver side rails and the black belt. I just think it helps keep the user more visually attuned to the proper stride area. Maybe this isn’t a big deal for most people, but in low light conditions or with elderly users…even the smallest cosmetic details can be important in helping prevent an accident.

Great video. My wife and I are in the market and we are both avid runners but our basement only has 7ft ceilings, which of these has the lowest step up height without losing durability/strong motor suitable for runners?
@TreadmillReviewGuru
@TreadmillReviewGuru 3 жыл бұрын
Your best bet is probably Sole F85. It has a low 8" step up height and at full incline is only 15" high. I also love the Nordictrack 2950 for running, but it has a higher step up height of 12" and at full incline it is 18" high. The Sole F85 doesn't have any decline levels, so it sits closer to the floor. The NT 2950 declines to a -3% so it has to sit higher to allow for the decline function.

My husband has recently started to exercise regularly. He uses an old treadmill that doesn't have a motor. I wanted to get him a new treadmill that we will both use. We've never seen what a subscription plan looks like but the walking in different places sounds very intriguing to me. My husband walks and goes faster, maybe a jog...he didn't specify if he was running or jogging....just going faster. Ha! He watches Netflix or KZfaq on his computer when he exercises. That's why I am torn between the Nordictrack Commercial 1750, ProForm Pro 2000, or the ProForm Carbon T10. Any recommendations on which one would be best? Thank you!
@TreadmillReviewGuru
@TreadmillReviewGuru 3 жыл бұрын
If you are interested in the subscription content, we'd recommend the NT 1750. It is more powerful and has more cushioning than the Pro 2000 or the Carbon T10. The NT 1750 is the best "all-around" treadmill because it offers the best features at a reasonable price. All three of them feature iFit content - so the programming is the same. But the NT 1750 has the best feel.

The Sole F63 is a good option if you want something simple that doesn't require a subscription. It's priced right at $1000 and has a max weight capacity of 325lbs. Another option would be the Horizon T303. It also supports up to 325lbs and is priced at $1000. Thanks for watching and great questions. Unfortunately, for under $1000 you won't be able to find a treadmill with an attached touchscreen that allows you to watch Netflix on the console. At this price point you are better off to find a quality treadmill and use a tablet or place the treadmill in front of a TV. Our suggestions for under $1000 are as follows: 1. Sole F63, 2. Horizon 7.0, 3. ProForm Carbon T7. All three of these treadmills will have decent cushioning and provide a comfortable feel under foot while you're using the machines. The ProForm might have slightly more cushioning but the build quality of the Sole F63 will be the best of the 3 options. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

But there aren't as many preloaded training options. For multiple users, either will hold up well and work great.

To be honest, it's hard to find a treadmill that doesn't create some noise for downstairs neighbors. Simply the movement of stepping up and down creates impact noise - even on the best treadmills. Thank you for your incredible reviews! I was about to order the new 2022 NordicTrack 2450 based on your favorable reviews of the other NT treadmills, but I hesitated because I’m worried it’s not exactly what I want and don’t want to get stuck with it. I want a treadmill that is cushioned, durable for long distance runs, and that could allow me to use ifit if I want but that works well without it if I cancel it since I have a TV in my home gym or often just zone out to music. Also, I may want a design that allows me to put an iPad or book on it, which the 2450 does not have. Maybe I’m overthinking it. This is hard without being able to try different treadmills at home to figure out exactly what I want. Do you have any thoughts on a unicorn treadmill that might meet my very broad needs?

I would check out the ProForm Pro 9000. It is enabled with iFit and has a small lip above the control buttons to place your iPad or book. Thanks for watching, we're glad we can help out! If you want a treadmill with good cushioning, the best you'll find is the NordicTrack X32i or the X22i. Sole offers about 10 built in workouts but nothing to the extent that iFit has. You'll also get a little bit less cushioning on the Sole, it's more of a road like feel with a little bit of cushioning.
