You guys wanted me to find the best value octave guitar effects pedal on the market, and I believe this is it. I’ve had it for about 4 months now, and it’s lived on my pedal board the whole time. It’s very cool, and when used as a subtle effect, it really adds a lot to your sound. It's great for blues music, church music, and experimental music. I’ve really enjoyed playing on this pedal over the last few months! Huge thanks to the Woteritrade amazon store for sending me this pedal for evaluation, I did receive it for free upon my request to review this pedal.

You should use a volume pedal or swell pedal in front of the octaver. That would get you really cool pad sounds. Be sure to add a reverse reverb and stand still staring at your feet for the best shoegaze tones.

Congrats on 75k subscribers, hopefully 100k won’t be too far away. For the fairly low price the Octa pedal is it does the job and the riff you play really had the sound of an organ which I can see being pretty creative and tracks notes well, I’m sure it’s pretty well made and has sturdy controls and silent switch as I bought the pock loop last year for around the same price and I’m impressed with the overall build quality and loops well, can save 11 loops, x2 speed, 1/2 speed, reverse or just play loop once, which for around £45 new delivered to the UK is a bargain with so many features and good quality. Thanks for your decent Octa demo and I’ve subscribed to your channel and would be more than happy to win the Octa or any other giveaways, keep up the good work, all the best Steve.

When you said about wasting your life playing bass I laughed hard! I’ve played bass exclusively in bands for like 20 years and only this year I decided my next project I would play guitar and vox to push myself a bit more. Never had pedals, always played clean bass and now I’m on a journey that involves co-ordinating hands, feet and mouth and it feels like I suck at all three and I’m starting out ALL OVER AGAIN! XD
@GunsandGuitars
@GunsandGuitars 6 жыл бұрын
Your story sounds very similar to my story! It sucks to suck again doesn’t it? As a seasoned musician you already know what you want your guitar to sound like, and how your fingers should move, and they just don’t! It’s so frustrating! But sooooo fun when you finally nail it.
@freezetheatlantic

Hell yeah! I thought I was fairly competent with a guitar - I’d always had one or two and played regularly BUT always sitting down and tinkering. Standing up, singing, turning pedals on and off and playing is TOUGH even when I’ve gigged solidly for years. My new band rehearsed the other night and I made us play the same two songs for the whole 3 hours til I nailed them!! I also only starting modding instruments just recently too which is why I love your channel especially the smart way you do stuff on a budget with every day materials and tools. I crowned and levelled frets using your method and now the instrument plays like dream so keep up the awesome content. Gear reviews are great too. I like my gear as simple as poss with as much bang for your buck so researching the right pedals for you can be a headache!

I can relate, but in reverse. I played guitar in a band and switched to bass (which i was more proficient in anyway) in order to fill a spot opened by our bassist who left. It was so nice to just stand back, play, and not have to worry about anything other than backing vocals.

Great video, Dan. Thanks for keeping the cool content rolling out for us cost conscious musicians. Congratulations on 75K subscribers, well done! I’m kind of surprised you didn’t play a bass through the pedal (as you are a bass player, after all). I’d be interested to hear what kind of interesting tones you can come up with a la Royal Blood or DFA 1979. Question: How was the tracking? Was there much lag time between your pick attack, and what you heard from the octave tones? I picked up the Donner Harmonic Square, which has a fair amount of latency between the dry signal and the effected signal. I’ve also used the Behringer Ultra Shifter/Harmonist(US600), which is noticeably better than the Donner, but not perfect. I’m interested in your take, especially as it relates to Bass guitar. Thanks!
@GunsandGuitars
@GunsandGuitars 6 жыл бұрын
There is a tiny amount of latency when playing with just the synth octaves soloed. It’s not terrible, I can still play in time with it, but it’s not perfectly instant.
