Best view in England? | Our first night car camping in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley

In this video we head to the forest of dean and the Wye valley to test out our car camper for the first time by spending a night car camping in the Forest of Dean! We check out some of the best things to do in the Forest of Dean. These include the Forest of Dean sculpture trail, Puzzlewood Forest, and Symonds Yat, a place considered the best view in England.
Puzzlewood especially was amazing, Puzzlewood is the film location of star wars, Merlin, and is a popular filming location for tonnes of places. It's easy to see why, as it feels like you're stepping into another world.
Symonds Yat is also often described as the finest view in England, and it's not hard to see. Overlooking the river Wye as it winds close to the border between England and Wales between two gentle hills, it's easy to see why it's called the best view in England.

Wind deflectors on all windows allow you to leave open slightly=No condensation. 👍🏻

We have been wanting to visit the sculpture trail for sometime and your video has definitely bumped it up the list, loved the sleeper trackers and Cathedral was very cool.....not keen on paid parking tho lol! The beetles were likely oil beetles, if black with a purple tinges then yaaaas. Stunning evening to visit Symonds Yat, I wonder if you could see us that evening! 😀 Loved the car camping section, totally get the nerves, it's a bit odd. Glad you slept well and all went well 🚗👍 puzzle wood looked great too, loved it, it did look magical! Superb trip Tom in an area I know well. The view is hyped up for sure. It's a fine bucolic view is Symonds Yat rock I'll give it that. The best view in the area is from the Sever Sisters bluffs. That's my opinion. As for puzzle wood I haven't been there because it's outside the Wye catchment and I've been exploring the Wye system. One day - it looks gnarly and awesome. Well you came - perhaps I helped inspired that. If so then cool. All the best for the week ahead. Mark

We'll have to check out the sisters bluffs! Hannah wasn't that impressed with Symonds Yat but she lived in the Brecon Beacons so she's used to good views 😂 We want to check out a lot more of the Wye it's a stunning area for sure!

Fab video Tom and Hannah. The sculpture Forest looked fab as did Puzzlewood. Woodland walks are amazing in Autumn aren’t they? Loving the car camping idea too. Seems to be quite a popular way of travelling and seeing the country these days.

Thanks Anthony! Autumn walks are such a great time, seeing the colours change from green to orange to red is a spectacular sight! The car idea came about just because we wanted to try that #vanlife but couldn't afford to and so a plan was hatched... 😂 It seems to be getting more popular, I reckon supermarkets should offer their car parks in the evening, otherwise they're going to waste!

Nothing like abit of cozy car camping! Haha, we’ve done it a few times ourselves… such a spectacular landscape to camp in though. Also Loved the art in the trees!

It's a lot of fun right? I've slept in my car before on the seats but wanted to make it a little more comfy 😂 The Forest of Dean is really underrated, we'd never visited before now but it's a place we really want to go back to! The sculpture trail was epic my favourite was the cathedral by far ⛪ The car camp went really well and we feel it's opened up a load of new possibilities for us, though probably not in the winter 😂 Puzzlewood was incredible, if you go to the Forest of Dean it's well worth splashing out £8 to go! Hi guys. First off, can we just say that Puzzlewood looked absolutely out of this world and it was good how you went around again and experienced it in a different light. Utterly beautiful. Blimey, that car camp looked a bit tight. What was the air condition like in the car? Would you do it again?

Honestly guys Puzzlewood was out of this world! It felt like stepping into another land like the realm of the fairies or something 😂 The car camp was a little tight but certainly doable, at about 6am it got really stuffy and a lot of condensation. But we cracked open a window for a bit and it got a lot fresher 😂
