I can't think of any platform that allows you to automatically deposit fiat but I there are definitely platforms that have recurring buys. Which coins are you looking to buy? How much? Do you plan on withdrawing them or just leaving them there?

@@cryptoforcanadians the plan was to dca long term a few of the majors. It would be small amounts of recurring buys at a time. Still debating if I should move them off to cold storage or keep them on a platform to stake for extra gains

If you plan on buying in small amounts and withdrawing then Newton would be good for that, otherwise if you plan on staking or leaving the coins on the platform, then NDAX. @@cryptoforcanadians We need to get residency in these countries, you don't pay capital gains taxes here: Belarus, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, El Salvador, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Malta, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Slovenia, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates

Haha thanks for the heads up. Even if you get residency there, you still may be required to pay taxes in Canada if you're deemed a resident for tax purposes.

You have mentioned "UPDATE: Ontario is no longer restricted for Bitget." Where did you get that information? is it only because Ontario residents can use it without an IP block? As well is Bitget legal in Canada?

I talked to someone directly from Bitget. You can also see on their TOS that it's only Alberta that's on there. You don't need to worry about an IP block for Ontario. Bitget is legal to use. No they’re not. They changed their fee structure earlier last year making them one of the more expensive places to buy crypto in Canada.

I use Wealthsimple and it has 2% fee to buy and sell🥲. Idk a better safe broker and I’m too sketched out to use other platforms. I’m from Ontario, what would you recommend I use? Need something that’s simple to use, safe, and doesn’t have ridiculous fees

You're accounting for the 0.5% deposit fee and 0.26% trade fee so that's roughly 0.76%?

If u buy usdc with $10k this is how much u will end up having. This includes deposit fee, buying fee/spread, and withdrawal fee Kraken: 7502 usdc = $9940 -0.6% Newton: 7472 usdc = $9900 -1% Ndax: 7470 usdc = $9897 -1.03% Shakepay: 7415 usdc = $9823 -1.8% Shakepay is the worst. @@cryptoforcanadians

Is this a recent update where it simply can't be used in Canada anymore? Thnx

Unfortunately residents of Alberta aren’t allowed to use them, not sure why. That said, I’ve seen people bypass that using a VPN along with using a passport to verify ID. Do that at your own risk though.
