Tomatoes need no introduction! Whether you have a good harvest of tomatoes from your kitchen garden, or you buy them from your local grocery store/farmer’s market, there is always a chance that you have a stock of tomatoes that you won’t use within 2-3 days. Don’t waste them. Also don't compromise on their flavors. Store them wisely and they would stay good for months!! Yes, months!!
Use this simple idea to save your money. Buy good tomatoes when they are selling cheap. Store and use for months, as shown in the video…..You won’t need to buy tomatoes later at high sky rocketing prices!!

instead of using a straw, you can also slowly dunk the bag in water up to the seal point. It takes out all the air.

The water method is so easy and works so well, we use it all the time. Hint: buy the "good" ( thicker) bags. It stops (slows) freezer burn and you CAN reuse them.

I have been freezing tomatoes, onions chopped and green pepper chopped in zip lock bags for many years. You can freeze tomatoes whole and then take out as many as you need for soups, chili etc. Run each one under hot tap water while yet frozen and the skin will fall off then add them to your pot of chili, soup or whatever you would like. Green pepper I add to cooking steak and other meats as well as onion. Tomatoes will keep frozen up to 5 years and make very good sauce for Italian foods. Tastes like it was fresh out of the garden! I just depleted my 2012's we had a very good year for tomatoes then! Lol I made sauce, chili so many other meals. Be sure to write on the bags the year that you freeze your veggies ! :)

Beans need to be blanched before freezing. Frozen beans would be best for stir-fry. Check out this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/na2njKeWs9GsqZ8.html The video shares blanching process and recipe for stir fry. You could use the same recipe for frozen green beans .@@blessingjohnchelliah4317

Tomatos can be canned but if you don't want to do that, I'd suggest making tomato base / sauce before they spoil and then freeze.
@Busybeeee

What a great alternative to canning or pickling.... and so much simpler. The only downside, of course, is that the fresh tomato taste and texture is altered but then again every other method has that disadvantage as well. Quite frankly yours is the best and less time-consuming. Great job :-)

A cheap way to vacuum seal a bag. To get the air out of the plastic bag after you fill it. I get a deep pot and fill it with water, then I close the zip lock part leaving just the corner open a little bit. Then I submerge the plastic bag in the water, the water will force the air out of the bag and then I close it.

I tried it. It worked! Cut the tomatoes into wedges and froze them on a plate per your instructions. Removed them from the fridge the next day, shook off the ice frost, and bagged them in sandwich style bags, 4 bags per freezer zip lock bag, removing the excess air with a straw for each bag configuration. I tried removing the skins on a couple of frozen tomato wedges. They came off easily. Again, thanks. This method is much easier than the boil/peel/freeze method.
