'That tea cup must be bloody deep' - Mr. Howie. Damn for some reason that really cracked me up. I'm 7 hours in and I really like this story it's bloody good. Love the way the Brits talk and the narrator is awesome.

I listen to audiobooks every day...and found this book wonderfully engaging, funny with twists and turns. I loved it! I will be looking for this author and narrator again.

This is one of the better zombie audiobooks. I totally agree with how it's almost like Shaun of the Dead, but this is still terrifying enough to be taken seriously. Absolutely give this one a listen

For those of you who do what I do and check the reviews before starting: One of my favorites!! Starts right before the dust zombies exist. This is everything I look for in a good zombie book. I should say I don’t get into the whole zombie battles or groups of crazy people. I like a normal person and what they experience. If that’s what you like as well, you’ll really like this one. This would make a great Netflix series. Chapter 41 had me rolling with laughter which I never thought a zombie novel would ever do.

I'm 10 hours in and I'm loving this. It's the perfect type of ridiculous. At first, it gave me Shaun of the Dead vibes but not quite as good but now I'm thinking this is better than Shaun of th dead. I'm happy that there's still plenty more to listen to. The narrator adds so much life it too. I don't think it would be near as good with a different voice.

The glass half full/ empty had me laughing so much my dog looked at me like i was mental. Best audio ever

2.45- that roar we are told of, & the attack just after, is one of the scariest thing's i've heard. So well thought out, written, described & narrated. This is one of the better apocalyptic zombie novel's. Definitely in my all time top 5, best of the best. & such a good choice of story teller. His style is pretty unique. He sounds as though he's reading from his own essay-along the lines of 'What I Did This Summer' And i'm really enjoying it. It's easy, very enjoyable listening. Thanks to all involved in bringing us this. 😊🙏

Zombie-fic lovers, if you'd like some other zombie fic recommendations, then you might want to look into: Mira Grant's “Newsflesh” series (absolutely amazing work), Joe McKinney's “Deadworld” series (solid and gripping, major edge of seat atmosphere and development), J. L. Bourne's “Day by day Armageddon” (top notch), Nicholas Sansbury Smith's “Extinction cycle” series (riveting and high action), and Jorge Sanchez's “Deadbreak” (surprisingly involving).

Oh my goodness, What a ripping yarn a roller coaster ride and a barrel of laughs, into the start of part 4 with Smithy trying to get the :little piggies in the isle of shite, sent me to sleep a few nights in a row with the brilliant narrators voice, and picking back up after work the next day. will be sad when its all over x

I've never had audio or read words meant for entertainment get to me the way those at hour 19 did. Damn. . . I listened to minute and a half conversation like 3 times and got goose bumps every time. The author and narrator make the best pair I've heard since Zombie Rules and Gram Halsted. Thank you for posting.

I have listened to this story a couple of times. Loved the story and the narrators efforts. Highly recommend.

I'am at 10:45:41. It will leave you frustrated and even annoyed at the main agonist and times, but you'll get him. A bit simplistic with the "extreme rage", but you'll get that too. Meets followers who do not seem very capable at first but develop at lot over over time (of course - shouldn't be a spoiler). So far a fairly new twist on the zombies. Very well read. Really well. I don't think you'll regret it.

This has been such a great journey! I am only in book 3 and I can't wait to see where else we go! I live in the states, but I feel as though I know much more about the uk! Additional: I am now in book 5. I am so happy to have a narrator! The slang parts would have slowed me down, but with a native reading, I am moving right along!

I like this one even more than The White Flag of the Dead by Joseph Talluto. Because of the humor and all the cursing...

Also whoever wrote this not only did they keep all that military and science terminology and jargon down to the least ....the author is a damn good writer ... because they dont have to spend 3 pages tryin to explain and help you visualize grass or something i cant get into authors who are too over descriptive ...most of the time when they do that its like they are just tryin to fill pages...like you dont have to use every damn adjective or verb or noun in the english language to get me to visualize....so its got to just be to fill pages

I read the Kindle books for these stories around 7 years ago.....I didn't twig this was the same in audiobook form until Dave arrived on the scene 😁

I've listened to a lot of zombie books and watched movies. This was the first one I've ever heard of from England. It was interesting to see how they did with no guns. Good story

So... I looked up the green cross man 17:49:24 it turns out the green cross man was played by David prowse, the guy that played Darth Vader, and like Darth Vader the replaced his voice with another actor.

I have ptsd and it’s actually common for folks with this disability to be soothed by horror fiction, because it is congruent with our obsessive hyper-vigilance whilst being an innocuous threat scenario, which allows me to relax as long as I attend to it….. often it’s the only way I can get to sleep.

i dunno... without wishing to give away any spoiler details, there's this part at 1d 15h into the audio where weed is painted as making a few people extremely paranoid. I've heard of this before, but I've never once seen anyone get paranoid from it (maybe it happens IRL, but let's say that I've been around a bit and haven't seen such myself). The behavior described was closer to that of a coke fiend (like that club owner early on), or rather more accurately that of someone on speedba||s, or bouncing between coke and hero|n.

Listening to some of this prose from the story I think of the dialogue from the movie "Fury". "Wait till you see it..." "See what?" "What a man can do to another man..." Such a poignant quote.

Funny exciting everything a good story needs. This has been the absolute best story I've ever heard.

Enjoying the books... Only thing that keeps nagging at me is... Darren gets infected by one small speck of infected slava.... The rest seems to swim in their blood and bodily fluids whilst in battle but don't get infected... Have I missed something whilst listening tired at nights?

Very very good Zombie story that takes place in England. Main character is Mr. Howie an ordinary guy, night manager of Tesco. I have been looking for this story again to finish listening to it. Also it is really funny, starting with the first scene when he is asked by his boss how he has increased productivity on Night shift and he tries to come up with any reason he can give without telling them about the motivational and completely against regulation poker game.

This is Books 1-10 of “The Undead” series by RR Haywood. This was so good I have parts 11-20 on my Audible list. I finished part 11, though the change of Narrator took me a while to get used to, and am on part 12 now. This series is EXCELLENT

Started this book 2 days ago. I'm 14hrs in. Love this book so far!

Well I intended to put this on and drift off to sleep but ended up listening to the whole book in one go. My mind built a movie around it and really made a great evenings entertainment.

Over the years especially from 2017 on, I have listened to a ton of zombie book series. To the point where I can't even remember the name of half of them because some of them have five ten or even fifteen books in the series. And I know how it goes. It starts with people versus zombies and then it becomes people versus people with very few zombies but you don't even care at that point cuz you're so invested. But one thing that is in every damned series and I really hope it's not in this one because I'm sick of it, is the psycho religious group. I know that would probably be realistic considering how many people are brainwashed by various religions in the real world, and if this were to ever happen I'm sure there would be plenty of people still like that in cults of Christianity or Catholicism or worshiping someone as a prophet. But I would really love one book series that just does not have that

I'm conflicted, because I was really enjoying the story up until Darren doesn't get to kill that single zombie (saying it that way to not give away any spoilers). But now I'm 29 hours in, and it feels tedious. Is it worth it to continue?
