now the cost point. I like to get either a 24 or a 48 volt in put side it will help the unite run cooler.

I always enjoy your review and test of many inverters! I'm just curious, what you'l do to them after you've done reviewing them?

I give 'em the ol' 'microwave test'. None have passed thus far. jk. I either keep them or sell them. This one's a keeper.

Froilan WIND&SOLAR I've considered doing that in the past. Perhaps at the 10k subscriber mark? I'd like to make the prize something worth winning and this inverter would qualify.

Is the fan on the Bestek 1000 watt inverter activated by temperature (thermal). My fan comes on for an instant and shuts off. I'm assuming it will come on again when it heats up? Are you going to upload part 3 of this great series soon?

Excessive amounts of thermal paste will actually create an insulating effect. I would check for that with your IR temp meter if you decide to keep the unit.
@knurlgnar24

The minimum amount of thermal interface material necessary to fill the mechanical gap is optimal. In this case the texture on the anodized case required a large amount of paste to completely fill. It was either paste or air, and paste is a much better conductor.

Hi, how can I make a 'remote on/off' switch for this? Can I just extend the wiring of that on/off button to a panel a couple meters away?
@knurlgnar24
@knurlgnar24 3 жыл бұрын
yes, that will work.

@@knurlgnar24 thanks for replying. Does the current under load passes through it? Will any electric wire gauge do?

hey I really enjoyed your video I know it's dated back 2014 but I'm just starting to get into solar and a question for you or anybody subscribed to your channel I would like to connect this inverter directly to a solar panel I don't care to store power I just want to have the ability during daytime hours can someone tell me how many watt panel I need to use so this inverter would work at rated power I was thinking of using a hundred watt solar panel any help you truly appreciate it thank you

with no battery at all I would say 12-15 100 watt panels. maybe more. I would at least use a bank of super capacitors or one battery. then use only 4-6 panels. but I definitely would use a battery or smaller inverter. 300-400watt inverter. with about 1000 watts in panels. but still use a small battery. the sun isn't out constantly all day every day. but if it were me to use tools or something during the day. I would get about 600 watts in panels . 2 deep cycle batteries . like 70 amp hours each. and a 1500 - 3000watt inverter. if its not going to be used constantly for hours on end. but if it is . go to about 4 or more 100 amp hr batts. and/ or about 8-10 100 watt panels. which is probably what I am going to do with my setup. good luck.

I notice there is no output inductor, or it's under the heat sink, are there inverters which do not require the output inductor? James
@knurlgnar24
@knurlgnar24 9 жыл бұрын
MSW inverters do not require an 'output inductor'. They simply switch the high voltage DC on and off to create the square wave output with three levels: zero volts, -120 volts, and +120 volts.

***** "Do not require an output inductor" - I wonder what EMI approval agencies think about having a 340 Vpp (or 650 Vpp for 230 V inverters) hard square wave, with harmonics in the hundreds of MHz, running through long runs of unshielded antennas. ;)

FFcossag Most are not even FCC/CE certified despite claims to the otherwise, and the ones that are are undoubtedly are tested with specialized sources/loads to make them as quiet as possible. This is common industry practice for consumer electronics. I am sure many of these products fail FCC limits under real use scenarios.

***** Greetings, I found this PCB layout for a 1500 Watt MSW inverter, and your right, the AC output is connected directly to the FET's. Looks to be a older design, using thru hole parts. James images.elektroda.net/25_1320574299.gif

It seems like they used more of the budget they had on the inverter itself, and not the package or instructions.

I don't like the idea of buying an inverter and then having to monkey with it before I can use it. I have no training in electrical engineering and I don't want anything that might be subpar from the day I purchase it.
