Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

I was 7 years old when I last visited Lebanon (I'm 58 now), it was the tourism destination for many. I can still remember the pine smell when we took walks near the apartment we stayed at, and the fruit stands at the side of the road. Some of our elders decide to move to Lebanon for their retirement years. But the current financial situation, drugs, kidnapping, are all hurting Lebanon to a point of no return.

There are many Lebanese people here in Australia and have many wonderful foods in our stores and on our tv's as a result. I was very interested to hear that they're many more Lebanese people outside of Lebanon than within though with all the conflict and major financial issues, it shouldn't be surprising. Its a shame about Lebanon but I'm so happy to have all the migration that its caused.

Lebanese food.... amazing. The kebab, shawarma, falafel. It's the most slept on cuisine that a lot of people enjoy. Those deserts looked amazing.

"Well, sometimes it would be nice for resilience to not be a baseline requirement. . ." Honestly got me, right there. And on the relative scale of suffering, my life is fine, but dang you feel for folks who are really suffering without end out there😢

Sonny, if you're still in Lebanon, swing by an area called Deir Al Ahmar. Great village with a lot of amazing food and history. Enjoy.

Lebanon is NOT an Arab country. We're Arab speakers. But our DNA is Canaanite/European Mediterranean. Mind it.

im from brazil and trully lebanese food like kibbeh and sfiha became a part of the brazilian culture. every bar in almost any city in brazil you go you will find a version of kibbeh and sfiha to sell. one of the biggest fast food chains in brazil is called HABBIB'S, a "lebanese" fast food chain, very cheap.

As a Marine Security (Embassy) Guard at the old U.S. Embassy in Beirut in 1970, I ate two shawarmas every day. They cost one Pound when there were three pounds to the dollar. Cheap eats, even for THOSE days. ee-YUM!!!

Hello Sonny and team, thank you very much for your very entertaining and refreshing content. As a Moroccan I really like the Lebanese culture and the coolness of its people. And it really makes me sad each time I hear or read about the struggles they are encountering from the devaluation of their currency and the consequences of the horrific port explosion in 2020 because they are a really warm, kind and vivid community that really deserve much more better than the hand they've been dealt, and seeing this episode makes me even more willing to go and visit the Beautiful country of Lebanon and enjoy all what it has to offer. I just have one tiny objection, it's in regard of the font you are using to represent arab words : It's pure Gibberish and it has zero representation of the arab language ! I believe you can ask any arab follower and he will gladly write to you the right words to use in exchange for nothing ! Anyway keep up the good work and I'm sending my love to the Lebanese people !

Or list the correct country status as recognized by the United Nations, the United States Department of State, and all other leading political entities in the world. This really sucks. I loved watching his channel because he explicitly avoided politics. Going forward, this less than subliminal attack on a persecuted people taints his efforts. Just one more thing destroyed by politics.

My favorite restaurant from my childhood was a Lebanese place, and I grew up in Greece! The thing about their diaspora being huge is definitely true. Btw that place had chicken kebabs to die for. The most insane garlic marinade you've ever had.
