I heard this song on the radio, I was driving my car at the time, a complete hedonist, and was forced to stop because I began weeping and didn't know why. Every time I heard it I began crying and a little while later I heard about Jesus Christ and His finished work which caused me to call on His Name for salvation. 33 years later, I still get emotional hearing this song. God bless you, Judy Collins.

I went to school with Judy Collins from fourth grade till we graduated from high school. She was a concert pianist, but then she started doing folk music. I remember we had a talent show and she sang a folk song. I don’t remember what, but it was such a surprise. Have followed her amazing career and enjoyed all of her music. I remember one morning in fourth grade she came running in late to school and said she had to stay home with her brothers and sisters because her mom and had a new baby. And they named him Denver.

Ha! I was driving through Boston with friends when Judy was there for this concert. We'd stopped at a red light, and who did we see walking near us on the sidewalk but HER. We rolled down our windows and shouted in unison, "We love you Judy!" She stopped, smiled, and yelled back, "And I love you too!"

I meet Judy back in 1988 at Six Flags Great Adventure. The audience was so small she commented on how intimate it was. After her performance, we hung out back stage and got to meet and greet those beautiful blue eyes. She was so gracious and welcoming. Will never for get it as long as I live. And definitely ask that her song be played when I pass on 👍🏻🙏🏻

I wonder if any of todays artist could punch out a voice like this. Ive played it to my nephews and nieces and now they listen to it. What a talent no one comes close to this
@spikespa52082 жыл бұрын
Many could "punch" it out, but very few could hold a pure sustained note as well. At least not without embellishing it somehow to show off their range.

This song means a lot to me as it reminds me of the day I got saved, I was a wretch and I sort after God and He knew and it was a magical moment back in 1988, 28th Dec, I would probably be in the gutter somewhere if I hadn't paid heed. Jeremiah 29;13,14 "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you," declares the Lord.

All I know is this. As a woman of age lets say over 50, who spent most of my life in sin, running from God at every turn, He finally caught me. No, actually, I now know I wasn't running away, I was running towards. I just kept tripping up along the way. You can have your scientific research and philosophical mindset and I guess we will find out who really is right on the other side of eternity. All I know is this: Amazing Grace, sweet grace , God's grace saved a wretch like me . How sweet is the sound. No man, no debate, no scientific attitudes can take that away from me. All I know when my time comes to leave this world at death or return of Jesus Christ I will go out singing and in peace. As they say " there are no athiests in foxholes. Facing death soldiers cry out for God and their moms.

How absolutely AWESOME! That's when you can REALLY sing when you can sing like that! And I can remember this first time round in the 70's. I'd like to see the likes of ariana grande, or smiley cyrus or britney spears sing like that, that'll be the day! No fancy "autotune" stuff back then, they didn't need it. And she did it without music too, how absolutely AWESOME!
