Fun fact about GTA SA Ammunation: if you aim at the seller with a sniper he wont shot at you and if you shot at his head(that was supposed to be a instant kill) he will fire several times at you before dying.

Fun fact in GTA LCS is that ammunation guy will eventually ran out of bullets and try to fist fight you behind the counter.

In the case of GTA III there is a wall that efectivedly not only disallows autoaiming, but prevents the player or the clerk from shooting themselves. It seems to be an early mechanism to prevent the player from killing the owner for ammo.

You have to change some settings to really aim the gun at people in Vice City. You can rob stores that way.

By the way, in GTA 3 and Vice city, the game negine only considers aiming as using auto-aiming, due to being originally designed for consoles (exceptuating being able to rob stores with the crosshair in vice city aswell.). Using auto-aiming on peds WILL get you reactions, not very pretty when tested on people carrying guns!

In both LCS and VCS aiming a Sniper inside the store won't cause the owner to shoot you. That was some sweet payback for the times the owner jumpscared me with their insta-summon shotguns and stun locked me to death.

You can actually aim guns at npcs in Gta III, you just have to switch to the "Classic" controls setup in the Settings

You can aim at him in gta 3. But the m16 don't use those aiming, only fps aiming. You should use another pistol for that. And using in vc also the controller controlls. Those games are mainly made for a controller, so they will just react this way.
