4:28 GTA V in PS3 had better phisics (but not in the level of IV) they downgraded it to add the first person mod.

Some old PS3 Cars still have deformation, example: lanstalker, futo, Pigalle, Kalahari, basically all the cars who are in the first version of the game

The ranking is somewhat out of place. You're supposing to rank which game has the most realistic damage from worst to best. For example. NFS Payback and Saints Row: The Third should be the in the lowest rank while GTA IV and BeamNG drive should be in the higher rank.

For GTA5. Try the 7th gen version (PS3, X360). It has a damage model more similar to GTA4

The original release on PS3 and Xbox 360 was much better and realistic and warped and bent the car more. They redid the damage model because of first person mode in the next Gen and PC versions. Like you couldn't have the roof caving in on Franklin's head in first person

gta 3, vice city, san andreas, vcs, lcs can't be compared with these games because their car damage is pre-modelled. when the game code reccognizes an impact above a certain level then it changes the normal parts model to damage part model. they didn't had really good damage models before 2006 but for the players. rockstar mimicked the damage just for us. rockstar is the goat for this

Pretty based of you adding some racing games as exemples, especially GRID 2 which is a fantastic game. Also pointing to how the cars in that game can get crumpled and chassi parts are much loose to fall apart also considering they're lincesed cars in racing games before 2015s (great exemple with NFS MW 2012 to Payback) which over the years car makers have been restricting game devs to NOT to show their cars getting destroyed in games while games without licensed cars have total freedom to do whatever they want. BeamNG and GTA are the best exemples. Which is such a shame that in a context of a racing game with lincesed race cars and real life or fictional tracks, damage models should be an integral feature because if you drive fast and carefull enough to keep your car intact until the end without mechanical damage as possible. Sadly car makers don't see that way making a genre that made so many advancements and authenticity that many modern titles currently are missing today.
