Went to geely Aseana and toyota maniLa Bay today. Saw the emgrand, grabe pang executive ang dating.

Emgrand is more Hitech and it wins in so many levels. But at the end of the day, Toyota is Toyota. You don't buy it for its features but for its name, durability and reliability and of course, resale value. I recently bought a Vios. I chose between the two. I went with Vios because I am more safe and secure with it. I won't have to think much about the spare parts if needed and I am sure I won't have a problem in the long run.

First time car owner here, I went for Toyota Vios XLE CVT as a safe choice in terms of parts and aftercare. I am definitely eyeing one of Geely's cars in the future as my second vehicle. Hopefully parts and aftercare of Geely will stabilize when the time comes.

2 years later, year 2024, yung vios XE still remains under 800k, at 774k to be exact, yung emgrand comfort tumaas na sa 945k. Kung gusto mo talaga ng emgrand comfort a 2nd hand low mileage emgrand comfort ay halos half ng price ng brand new, mabilis talaga mag depreciate and chinese cars at the moment.

We bought an emgrand premium. Grabi, head turner talaga, saka may sunroof. Lakas umarangkada kahit sa akyatan, lalo pg naka sports mode. Tapos solid sya, yung pg tinapik hindi tunog lata🤣. 2-3x a week kami nag lolong ride pa bundok. Napa comfortable nya. Sobrang premium at unique sa kalsada. Yung after sales service nya 10/10. Test drive nyo lahat para ma compare nyo😁

Isa rin to sa pinag pilian ko emgrand maganda mga features , fresh looks and design. But in the end mas pinili na namin vios, mas praktikal kac, i mean subok na kac na brand and ung pyesa din malaking factor if masiraan man in the future (hope not). And ewan ko ba bakit mas napopormahan ako sa design ng vios lalo na ung mags nya ngaun xle 2022, pero maganda din nmn emgrand

Price may be similar with the Vios but Geely should really have been paired with the Corolla. But then again, the Corolla is priced atleast P1.054M. Pairing the two would be detrimental to Toyota's cause due to the glaring price gap between the two. Im all for Japanese cars, but once the chinese bring their spare parts supply chain here, its going to be gg for Japanese brands if they don't step up their game. The entry of chinese cars have shown us that cars packed with features and euro style luxury don't have to be so expensive. As can be seen by the market's positive reception to them, Filipinos have come to realize that we've been given overpriced, mediocre products by Japanese manufacturers for years.

Toyota is a good brand but it needs to step up its game. Competition is healthy for us customers overall. So my boomer parents wants to buy the vios but I persuaded them to buy the Geely emgrand instead. Can't wait to ride it this December. ❤

Edit: I just found out na binili ng Geely ang Volvo at Lotus so the Geely emgrand has Volvo and Lotus technology as well as techniques put into its production, so choose with what floats on your boat.

im not confident for the after sales part of the Emgrand and its fuel efficiency.... also....if you going to sell it as 2nd hand...Toyota Vios will be top on the list...so i go for Vios

Best talaga decision nang toyota na e facelift yung vios kahit bago payung 2019 na facelift. Kahit palagi akong nakakakita ng vios hindi sila nakakasawang tingnan.

Pra sa akin mas comfort ang geely emgrand.. Interms of fuel tipid din lalo sa long drive since 8 speed cvt plus manual mode for shifting W/ eco, sport and comfort mode w/ high hp and torque. Pero hindi pued compare ang 1.3 to 1.5 hindi po apple to apple interms of engine dapat same engine... We have vios and geely emgrand.. Mas bet ko gamitin si emgrand

Is it a fair comparo when the vios has garnishes/mods & wind visor while the emgrand is stock?

We got a 2021 Vios XE (the srp was 747,000 in December 2020 and before they added Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and I test drove an Emgrand last March and I have to say that the Emgrand is better in everything, especially the ride comfort and features. The Vios doesn't even have basic features like an A/C button and intermittent wiper setting. Emgrand Comfort has a keyfob, cruise control, TPMS, electronic park brake, and more features than can only be found in sedans with a price range close to a million pesos. Even the Comfort Variant is better than the top of the line Vios. I hope I can get an Emgrand next, after 4 years maybe.

In four to five years time, tingin ko gaganda narin ang reliability ni geely, sa dami ba naman ng coolray na nakikita ko sa daan, impossibleng di gumanda ang parts availability ng kanilang mga sasakyan.

Actually Panalo ang Emgrand interior / exterior, feature-wise kaysa Vios, City, G4, Accent, MG etc. Yun lang talaga, doubtful yung parts niya. Ang maitatapat ko jan talaga is toyota altis for its premium feel. Non emgrand user and fan ako pero nagmukhang alalay yung vios. I still go sa Japanese cars for dependability. Kailangan ng geely na mapatunayan sarili nila for at least 5 more years.

if i were to choose a sedan between the two, i would pick the Toyota vios. although, naiiwanan but i will choose it. but i recommend the variant xle a slightly higher than xe but worth it. the reason why i choose the vios it's because of its sound isolation and the comfort of it and plus the reliability. for me the reliability is important because it will not cost me more on the long run.

We can't deny the fact na less tech features = less sakit ng ulo pag dating ng after 5 years. Maganda ang geely tech, interior and exterior no doubt, pero dapat handa kadin sa posibleng gastos kapag nag start na lumabas ang sakit ng sasakyan. Eto ang pinaka iiwasan mo kung ayaw mo ng super kating gastos ng maintenance 1. Turbo Engine 2. CVT 3. Loaded tech features Partida yan palang malaki na magagastos mo, kapag sinama mo pa ang suspension at engine. Para kang bumili ng 2nd hand cars sa gastos. Kapag madami ka ipapa ayos sa sasakyan mo expect mo na mababa ang resale value.
