Geely Emgrand Comfort vs Premium - Philkotse Variant Comparison Review (w/ English Subtitles)

There are only two variants of the Geely Emgrand here in the Philippines - the Comfort and Premium. With the Premium already at P908,000, it's interesting to see if there Comfort trim is too bare, or does it offer more value for money?

1.5L engine, TPMS, cruise control, rear A/C vents, 60/40 foldable rear seats, LED projector lights, power mirrors, electronic park brake, auto brake hold, and a keyfob with remote engine start and handsfree trunk release all for 798k pesos makes the Emgrand Comfort the best choice for the 700-800k price range.

All these tech but with an underpowered engine just makes the vehicle feel like a wannabe on the road. Yes you can cruise like a turtle, but when there’s a need for speed under circumstances where you need it the most, that’s the time you’d feel that “I should have spent my money elsewhere”.

The engine of the Emgrand is not really appealing. MG5 Core MT priced starts at 658,888 even has better engine performance with 112HP/150NM but with same luxurious vibe. It has 2nd to the highest in HP in its segment(next to new Honda City), and second to the highest in Torque(next to new Almera 1.0T). Emgrand's power is too lame for its luxurious design.

I'll take the emgrand premium any day. Though the engine is a little underpowered, it's enough for a daily drive. The vios and other cars like mirage are also underpowered in this price point so this is a much better choice. At least for me.

@@gerrymieadan6808 As per our experience it has 8 bars sa fuel gauge consisting of 50 liters. We drove from Cubao to Ibaan Batangas, mga 2 bars lang lagi yung nababawas sa gas namin. Tipid sya para sa mga long drives. Sa city driving naman I can't say, kasi we don't have a habit na mag-neutral kapag traffic. Full tank namin tumatagal ng almost 1 1/2 week, kung dyan dyan lang sa Ayala and Makati.

saw the emgrand in the flesh and the newly launched almera looks dated already. japanese cars needs to rethink their design, packaging and pricing to be competitive in the future. and yes, that includes the vios.

Emgrand comfort any day. All the comfort features is there, the only that your compromising (if you can even call it a compromise) is the power folding mirrors. But since literally everything else that makes the emgrand great is already found in the comfort trim, then its basically a no brainer

andrew nde p ata available mga spare parts ng geely car sa pinas..kase yung nbasa ko koment sa ibang blog owner sya ng geely okavango nabangga yung car nya almost 1month nsyang nag iintay nong mga parts ng pang palit sa mga damage ng car nya eh walapa kse inoorder p sa ibang bansa..

Promotion price to punch through Philippine market. matinde kasi competition dito lalo new player si geely. mali nga na realize diskarte nila na tinaasan nila supposed to be stable price at much better if may introduce sila next year dapat mas bumaba pa ang price.

Still, underpowered for me. I think it should have been a turbo man lang. Price range for the comfort, pwede na sila maglaban ng MG5 and Alvsin Platinum.

Geely intends to sell this in the ride-sharing/taxi market. That underpowered figure would lessen the stress on the engine and perhaps promote reliability.

Good luxurious design like MG5. But this Emgrand's engine is a bit lame as it is just in the middle of its class unlike MG5 which is second in the list when it comes to HP and Torque.
