Certainly more character than the Germans - the 166 has it in bucket loads! Had the pleasure of driving a pre-facelift 2.0 T-spark many years ago - a bit thirsty, but a wonderful car to drive - in many ways a better drivers car than the 156 Sportwagon I had at the time. Pity they didn’t make a 166 Sportwagon - I’d have one without any hesitation!

I agree, the Germans are a bit too clinical for my taste. I like the Italians with their charismatic approach to design. I love the 166 and regret not getting the 3.2 V6. But that will come in the near future. Also would have loved the 166 SW.

I love this car second to the 155 v6. The Face Lift 166 3.2l has to be one of the sexiest looking car salloons and its a shame that FIAT never introduced it to the US. I believe this car would of been the Family Flagship for Alfa It had it all and a awesome sport V6 with more than enough power STOCK. FIAT should of NEVER got rid of the Busso with all the new tech today that engine today could of done wonders. Such a Shame.

Well, even though I'm not from the US, i still would've liked for you to have them there as well. I mean it probably would've never been as popular as it's German rivals, but it would've sold more. As for the Busso, I'm so sad about that one going away. The GM 3.2 that it was replaced with just doesn't even come close to it as far as the sound or the performance

No, it doesn't. I wish it had it, as it would be very cool! Even its German rivals at the time didn't have them.

Meni je original lepši od redizajna, ali me tu malo odbija godište...zadnji model 2003...ipak je 20 godina previše. Pretpostavljam da te plaši plivajući zamajac.

Da, 20 plus godina nije neka sreća, pogotovo ako auto nije bio čuvan. Da, plivajući me jako plaši hahaha

Na malo kojem autu je redizajn bio potreban kao na 166. Ima klasičnu talijansku boljku a to su neodgovarajuća svijetla po dimenzijama i obliku. Isti problem ima Lancia Thesis. Ogromno auto sa svijetlima od fiće. Čak i 156 ima pomalo problem sa svijetlima ali na 156 to čak nekako dobro stoji. Čudno ali dobro.

@AdrianoCROST slažem se da je redizajn bio preko potreban, ali mi i stara 166 ima neku posebnu čar, možda zato što mi je bila prvi auto, ali i dalje mi nekako dobro izgleda. Naravno FL je miljama bolji

Nice review but 166 interior is so boring, it looks like it jumped straight from some VW. 156 have much nicer interior and it's cheaper car. Also Alfa should offer to some company to make quality emblems for them that will last at least 10 years. Seriously AR is only company that cannot make quality emblems that doesn't lose colour in a few years.

Well okay, sure they could have made some changes to the interior in the redesign, but I quite Like the 166 interior. It’s much more spacious and comfortable than the 156 and the rear leg room is vastly superior to the 156. Yeah the emblems Are awful hahaha
