It was great seeing Axel Foley in 2024. I liked the chemistry with Joesph Lovett. Taggert didn't miss a beat. Wish there was a bit more Rosewood. I think the daughter character was the weakest written and really one note, which is unfortunate because that was the base of the whole story. This definitely makes you miss original songs for action flicks. Glenn Frey, Pointer Sisters, and Segar, lets go. How great is it when a Kenny Loggins song comes up in a movie. One word, Serge. Pinchoet is so great at this character. Hes a mover and a shaker.

I agree with the review. The action scenes was fun to watch, but the story and acting in between...I looked at my watch several times during the whole film.

I watched your review before watching the movie, so I went in nervous, thinking it was going to be bad. But I enjoyed the movie. Was it perfect? No, but I think the biggest mistake was not releasing it in theaters. I have no doubt it would have done well.

It was an ok movie (between "it wasn't great" to "it wasn't bad"). Eddie did admit that he was pushing himself hard to do this movie when it was being made and it is shown throughout the entire film. He can't barely move around like he used too. His age is starting to kick in. When he is attempting to get away from the bad people at Billy's apartment he was slow... like very slow but it was still a great movie. The few scenes that did have me in stitches tho was the helicopter scene / Him being pepper sprayed / Arguing with the car park person calling him "brother" over and over. What surprised me the most tho was seeing Christopher McDonald in the film as the golfer which honestly confirms happy gilmore 2 or they would of just found some random golfer to play that scene. All in all I give it about a 7/10 only because it's been a LONG time since I laughed very hard at a movie/show.

it's not an 8. It's a great callback to old action movies...but was lacking for what I'd hope the expectation is now of acting, pacing, depth. no more than a 7. But a good 6-7 compared to great movies that are 9s

Wow this guy sounds like he was looking for negatives. Glad I'm not a critic because that's a crappy approach to watching a movie. Outside of the uptight daughter scenes, I enjoyed the movie.

2:57 I rejoined Netflix after 2+ years to see this film. I hadn’t seen any of these formulaic Netflix films starring A listers. This film has the father-daughter dynamic of You People crossed with the traditional action elements we expect of the franchise. I found that the scenes of Eddie and Taylour driving up and down Wilshire and Figueroa were not unlike the Eddie and Lauren dynamic in You People but perhaps also a callback to Lisa Eilbacher’s convertible in the first film. I give this film a B+.

The Detroit action scenes were reshot in 2023 and you can tell in those scenes as they are combined with takes filed a full year earlier. This isn’t uncommon in the filming process. However, it can be jarring here. I just glad they took care to make Detroit look like it does today and not in 1984. It’s a completely different city now.

I think treating it like it was 80's Detroit would have been a weird disservice to the city. I know it's had a rough patch but it is finding its way back slowly.

It was a little clunky in some parts, but overall very entertaining. Great seeing Eddie Murphy back as Axle Foley and the rest of the gang. Overall a fun Netflix flick. I do agree with your take on Joseph Gordon Levitz. Not sure what it was but his character seemed a little off.

Watched the movie today. It was OK. Not as good as the other 3. Was dissapointed that the original cast aren't really in it that much and the story was too focused on foley repairing his relationship with his daughter. Found that boring. The story line could of been better

For me this 4th one is very close to the 1st movie and I still think the 3rd is the weakest of all the 4 movies. My ranking for BHC movies would be: 1) Beverly Hills Cop 2) Axel F 3) Beverly Hills Cop II 4) Beverly Hills Cop III

Man i usually agree with most of your reviews but sorry I completely DISAGREE with you this time. Seriously how can you even enjoy the movie when majority of your focus were on every negative aspects of the movie and also spent most of your time focusing so much on Joseph's character expressions really? And not the story. That much how you go into really deep with the silly 80s modern take cliché action/comedy movie? For the seek of reviews to keep on going, you just say anything that's crazy. I honestly thought the movie was good not great but highly enjoyable.Gave most what this franchise needed and much better than the 3rd movie for sure. Only negative I had was the daughter daddy issue thing which kinda killed the comedy vibe a bit, other than that I had a good time and much better than i expected. it's 7/10 for me and it don't deserve 2/ half. I still respect your review though. Good day.

VHS FANATICS: If someone has never seen the previous movies do you think they'll be intrigued enough to seek those out to vid them after vidding Axel F? A 50% score on a recommendation is borderline "me not even trying to vid it". Thanks for the review.

It felt more of a father and daughter movie movie plot bland beverly hills cop 3 was better not enough use of the older characters axel foley looks tired. The plot is basic movie score was ok but then it gets ruin with unnecessary rap paramount should of got released it the movie didnt get enough use pf kevin bacon could of been great its not good as the original 3 was it better then 3 i would say no rosewood should of had more screentime it took them 20 years to get a sequel to make it like that im disappointed it almost felt like a parody soundtrack was good but some of the songs had unnecessary rap didnt felt like it should of belong to the beverly hills franchised

I'm actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this. Being an '80s kid and loving the original, I loved the old school feel, like the chases and practical stunts, almost no CGI. I also thought it was cool that they kept it a hard R with the f bombs and violent shootouts and comedy. It was way better than I thought it was gonna be when I heard Netflix was doing this. I thought it was nice to see Murphy back in a good role, after so many terrible movies in recent decades (except maybe Dolemite).

Thanks for that review. It's a bit too "remember when", the characters are frozen in time. Axel wearing the same jacket as he did 40 odd years ago, no one has advanced in careers or retired. Ehhhh boy.... Well I'm sure it will find it's audience.

Uhm... even if in general u agree w his reviews... you didnt watch this... dont tell me you did. You did not. Just cuz he didnt love it doesnt mean u cant and/or wont. I loved it. I hated Coming2America... I hated BHC3... This is NOTHING compared to the first. But nothing ever will. This is the second best. Its great.

I thought it was decent, but the daughter is annoying, and the movie is playing it very safe. The comedy has good moments but it's very modern and doesn't want to trigger the woke crowd. Don't buy into this is old school Eddie or BHC bringing back that 80s edge.
