So the book of Abraham is the touchpoint of some serious controversies, and we’ve talked about some of those in our last two episodes, and we’ll probably talk about them more in the next episode. But, to be clear, the book of Abraham is also the source of some dazzling doctrinal gems which validate and expand upon other key restoration teachings. So in this episode of Church History Matters, we leave the controversial to bask, however briefly, in what to us makes the book of Abraham beautiful.
This is the ninth episode of our 10-part podcast series on Joseph Smith's Revelations and Translations. For a full transcript of this episode, as well as show notes and additional resources, visit our website at doctrineandcovenantscentral.o...

If the roadmap is incorrect, then every line takes you further from your destination.

@@alanyoung6572 Agreed. 45,000 different Christian denominations can't be correct. 900 versions of the English bible can't be valid. Christianity sells the word of God for personal gain. They violate the scriptures (roadmap) in every respect. They are of the devil, in a church founded by the devil. Its obvious. Yet your contention here is informed by the false doctrine of Christian creeds long removed from truth and understanding. The issue for everyone you are addressing, is that you haven't questioned what you've been spoon fed by people inspired by the ideas of men, and not by the spirit of God.

Why did Joseph not mention that the Scrolls were written 1800 years after Abraham’s day?

I believe the story goes something like: Father Abraham’s era is 1,600 years before Christ. The scrolls were written around 200bc in Alexandra, Egypt. So, if the point of the story is to illustrate Abraham being threatened with being sacrificed the author would be telling a tale from long ago and far away.

@@alanyoung6572Or, the author could have been transcribing records of which Abrahams recorded history was a part. No one knows, however, it’s a great record for which we can be grateful. A person can believe the record or not.

Same reason no one mentions that the earliest bible texts were written 600 years after Jesus Christ.
