Why is there zero archeological evidence to back up Joseph's teaching? There are tons of evidence for the bible.

He had a printing press destroyed because they printed stuff about him and his ways that he didn't like. Sounds a lot like something Donald Trump would do. Joseph Smith was a fascist like trump. Oh and a philanderer just like Donald Trump too.

1. Martyrs don't shoot back. 2. Obviously silencing his opponents by burning down the printing press would result in a rebellion. 3. The first 5 prophets were Freemasons. 4. Joseph takes freemason rituals and teaches others about them, (still practiced today). I wouldn't be surprised if masons cashed in the oaths he broke. 5. If Joseph actually saw Jesus Christ and God the father in the first vision, technically the second coming would've came then and there.

I wish the unknown reserve number instead of being $100B was realli a *_Trillion_* . That way instead of the Church just giving away $1B /year for third-world poverty and global disaster relief it could hive away $10B /year for the very same things!

I am so grateful that the Church is wealthy enough to build new temples, especially a new temple where I am in Fairbanks, Alaska. I didn’t think we would get one for many, many years. Listening to how much money goes into not only building one, but maintaining it year after year, I’m doubly grateful, especially up here in the far north, where permafrost is a constant issue, considering the high standards for building and maintaining a house of the Lord.

I am happy about this controversy, it allowed me to give myself permission to look into other topics and realize the church isn’t true. The church was afraid people would stop paying tithing but at least in my case it backfired and made me leave the church completely. That happens when dishonesty is the core principle.

Such an important topic explained so perfectly. The Church’s wealth also renders it immune from those who wish it to be destroyed. Traditional secular means of opposition (boycott campaigns, legal bills, targeting of wealthy donors, public shaming) simply don’t work against the Church because it has become independent of all other creatures.

So, great. as I didn't even know half of the first part you discussed but am glad that I have lived long enough to have some conclusions and know that my testimony was right on. By the way, as I do try and look up certain episodes of Church History Matters, is there any way the podcasts can be filled chronologically??? It is hard to find them without going through nearly the whole list of past podcasts. They are all so good and again I love this program. You good brothers are great detectives of the scriptures. "The year following his return from his mission, Elders Morris and Evans formed a building company which was operated much after the pattern of the United Order, in which each family would draw from the earnings just sufficient for its needs, and the balance would be absorbed by the company to build up the business. Few men ever worked together in such perfect harmony. Samuel Evans was bookkeeper of the firm and Elias was the superintendent and manager. This firm was forward-looking and was responsible for the introduction of new building materials in the community. The 'Salt Lake Herald' of June 1, 1881, gave out the following: 'Mr. Elias Morris, of the firm of Morris and Evans, with characteristic energy, introduced a new industry into the territory. It is artificial stone, and is one of the newest, and will probably become one of the most useful of discoveries. • . ... Its constituents are Portland cement, lime and gravel; and it is made into all desired shapes by means of moulds. • . . It can be manufactured into any desired shape, and possesses the hardness and durability of marble while it is claimed to be much cheaper. 'At the same place others were engaged in manufacturing asbestine pipes. Mr. Morris keeps a large number of men at work at one and another of these new industries, and is doing good for the country by the introduction of new, substantial and cheaper articles for general need.' The skills of Elias Morris and Samuel L. Evans working with stone did not go unnoticed by the Church authorities. It was not long until they were called to superintend the setting of stone on the temple. This they did willingly and without remuneration, since it was customary for men to work out their tithing using their talents and skills not only in building the temple, but many other commity projects needed by the early settlers of Salt Lake. Samuel L. Evans also did stone work on many buildings in Salt Lake, according to Hyrum H. Evans, one of which was the Wells Fargo

Thanks for producing another informative episode. I enjoyed hearing the story at the end. As a teen, I thought the practice of fasting once a month and donating the money that would have been spent on food to help the poor could be the way to solve many problems in the world. From a financial perspective, funds are raised on a regular basis. From a psychological perspective, fasting helps an individual have empathy for those who go without. As a young person, I wondered what kind of problems could be solved if everyone in the world did this?

You mean reformed church. There is only one insoluble, indivisible Church that Christ found 2000 years ago. He made the promise that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. He never spoke of a restored Mormon church that would be needed in the future. You are no different in that respect from the tens of thousands of reformed church’s that have spun off from Martin Luther’s Reformation

As usual, a church apologist is lying to you, he says we don't know if Joseph Smith hit anybody or killed anybody when he fired his weapon at the people coming up the stairs. John Taylor was there and he said Joseph Smith hit three of the people, two of which later died and one of the other was wounded. So when they're telling a story and lie to you, what do you think about that? And John Taylor statements to this effect are in the history of the church and at the journal of discourses. And don't forget Joseph Smith was arrested for committing a crime when William Law One of his counselors published the nauvoo expositor that exposed his polygamist practices. Joseph Smith ordered the printing, press destroyed and thrown in the street. I'm Law was mad about his polygamy because Joseph Smith tried to put the moves on his wife, Smith had already married 11 women who already had husbands. So it's always a whitewashed history

You knew in detail how many people consist of the mob. You knew every words the say, how many bullets hit them, and the specific area where the bullet hit them. You knew in detail how everything else went, except whether or not he killed anyone, as he fired back at the mob, that was very close to him. Truth is not difficult to know.

@GeneralEclectik 12 күн бұрын
Why not ask why the mob was angry? It makes it sound like people just woke up and decided to hate Mormons all of a sudden. The Mormons had been in Navoo for years and their neighbors tolerated their religion and even sympathized with them after being run out of Missouri. The mob only wanted Joseph Smith because of how he was currently acting, and marrying multiple women and dismissing state law and installing himself as the highest authority.
