It’s a shame, I used to get excited leaning about people surviving. I’ve learned that many of the survivors were scarred for life, and many met and end still too soon.

The issue was, I was going onto private land. Although the cemetery allows public access it’s private property.

Very sad life, she went from one man to another. Shame she never found happiness within herself. She was better off staying as a rich widow. Great video and research 👏

Thank you so much for this. Awesome video! I appreciate this! I've been looking for more information on her. Also, about Mr and Mrs Astor's love story and their time spent upon board. I've read that she stood up with Ms Brown for the men who were stranded against the protest of the man in charge of rowing in their life boat. Is that something you've come across in your research?

From my understanding, once in the lifeboat she became very distressed. At one point she became convinced she could hear her husband calling out to her and she stood up demanding that they return to save him. She apparently had to be calmed by several other passengers. I think her desire to returns was more out of concern for her husband rather to pick up survivors.

@@BeyondTheTitanic that is very interesting and just unbreakably earth shattering that Madeline wasn't going to see her husband ever again. It's literally saddening bc I think if John Jacob Astor DID survive the sinking. They would have been lived a lifetime together just like how the Straus's did and as they BOTH died in the sinking. I think it's weird that Isador Straus's body was recovered from the sinking site as he was probably wearing a lifebelt and Ida Straus wasn't probably wearing one. I hope you'll do an episode about Jack Thayer or even the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown soon

I've seen some about Madeline's story. Not a happy life, and her Astor son didn't know much happiness either, according to the stories. Thank you for your excellent videos. I'm hooked!

During the opening every time I hear that newscaster says "The SS Titanic" I so want to correct him, it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.

What sad about madaline and astor's son is that astor's oldest son Vincent didnt have children and madeline/astor's son didnt have a father so why didnt vincent help raise there son
