Dori's Hiking Adventures

Dori's Hiking Adventures

Күн бұрын

From Dwellingup to Collie, I spent most of the time alone with my thoughts. Together with the long stretches of gravel and the heat, it was time for an emotional breakdown on the track! I wasn't sure if I would include it in the videos, but this is what it is really like on the track. When we are dealing with unresolved issues, grief or emotional distress, hiking offers a unique way of dealing with it. Disconnected from all the distractions, hiking helps you to reconnect with yourself. Even though we need to deal with unresolved issues sometimes, we come out happier and stronger on the other end!
Follow me as I show you what you can expect on your own Bibbulmun Track adventure. I hope to inspire you to go out and hike!
A few months ago I decided to hike the Bibbulmun Track in Western Australia. It was an incredible adventure and met the most amazing people on the way! The Bibbulmun Track stretches 1000km from Perth to Albany in Western Australia. Hiking the Bibbulmun Track is challenging but rewarding. The heat, the gravel, the flies and the wildlife did not hold me back!
Enjoy the video 😄

Thank you for sharing this with us, Dori. Grief is such a normal part of life, but we seem to want to hide it away. It's such a reminder to share our love and live our best lives. We don't doubt that your Dad and Grandad would be so proud of you xxx

Hiking gives us wonderful opportunities to just be in the moment and feel in the moment as well. It’s such an important part of the grieving process and of personal evolution. Let it all hang out I say. My dad died of cancer in 2014 and I miss him so desperately. I think of him a lot when I’m out on trail and not distracted by all the complexity of my daily life. I’m sure your dad and grandad are with you as you walk. Thank you for sharing.

Hello Dori. There is nothing wrong with missing those you love. If I feel like crying I just do it. I think it's damaging to keep it in. I'm a bloke and we are supposed to "man up" 😭😂 ❤️

I was crying with you as this hit home for me too. I loss my father 3 years ago. It was sudden, he had a heartattack and the last words he would speak to me haunt me all the time. 'We're still going to do that road trip'. I knew it wasn't going to happen as he had to many health complications and he died a week later. He was also such an inspiration and gave me so much emotional support. It's a hard loss. I get exactly where you're coming from as I feel exactly the same way. So true about appreciating the moments you have with the people closest to you. Your journey has inspired me. I've done part of section one from Kalamunda to Brookton Highway, hoping to continue with my hike next week. I don't think I'll do it end to end this year but I will be doing sections of it. Loving your journey!

Hey planning a bibbulmun watching your videos on my laptop but i cannot find the button to send a virtual hug.Try hugging a tree if they are big and grand or weathered and contorted you might be able to feel its glory in the part it has played in creating the amazing day you are having today, no matter were you are.
