Το βυζαντινό κείμενο είναι πιο εύκολο γιατί είναι πιο κοντά στη νέα ελληνική γλώσσα. Αλλά εγώ προτιμώ το αλεξανδρινό που βρίσκεται κοντά στην εποχή του Χριστού.

He asks, “Which text do you prefer, the Byzantine or the Alexandrian text?” She thinks that the Byzantine text is written in Byzantine Greek (a much later development of Greek and closer to Modern Greek) and the Alexandrian text is written in Koine Greek of the first century. The Byzantine Text is also written in first century Koine Greek. Professor, in order to understand Wesley’s question you’ll need to study textual criticism and the history of the transmission of the Greek NT down through the centuries and how various traditions and families of text types arose. Here are some of them: Alexandrian, Western, Byzantine and Textus Receptus. The differences among them arose because scribes (this was before the invention of printing) did not copy correctly from the older manuscripts. Some scribes even deliberately omitted, changed or added words thinking they were improving the text. The Byzantine text is better because the Alexandrian has many omissions eg the ending of the Lord's Prayer and the ending of the Gospel of Mark.
