@@dreamcat04 But it would massively reduce power when plugged in, which saves energy and decreases noise. I manually limit my fps in games on my current laptop which kind of works, but whisper mode seems to be more than just a simple fps cap because it also seems to automatically under volt. Under volting my rtx 3070 ti laptop is already overpowered because I still get impressive performance, but I can barely hear it right next to me without a headset, like I almost have to actively tying to listen for the fans to hear them. I have never seen a gaming experience like this be so power efficient and quiet. Now being able to do all of that without any extra tweaking at the literal flip of a switch, it's essentially like cheating at that point.

Ive had windows hello recognition since 2020 with my Alienware 51m R2(10900k/2080Super). Which comes with a "Tobi-Eye Tracker" bar under the screen. I love it bc it has a feature where whenever you press whatever keybind you want(Alt by default) it automatically jumps your mouse arrow to wherever your eyes are looking. Prob sounds nothing to write home about but its one of those "once you use it your hooked" type things, just makes multitasking and getting things done easier & faster. You can also take it a step further and turn on an option where as soon as you move your mouse it will also jump to where your eyes are looking. Its pretty cool, so basically you just look at whatever you want to click on and the second you go to move your mouse, it puts the cursor right onto it.

There is really something very important in laptops and it is their useful life. Not in terms of it becoming outdated, that happens in everyone, the important thing is the breakdowns, that the monitor breaks and you are left without a laptop, or that it burns. That is one of the main things to consider in such expensive laptops. I would like a video about that, that talks about old laptops and if they continue to work without faults today, to find out which are the best brands in duration and few faults. all the best.
@Redman147

Make sure you let people know that depending on the sku, laptop brands can neuter the 4090 and a 4080 with more power budget can beat the 4090. I really don't think the gaming performance on battery matters on a gaming laptop. The battery life is so short while trying to game that it is not worth it to try to game unless you are connected to the wall. The way to think about high end gaming laptops is that they are two computers in one. They are a high end laptop on the one hand and on the other a legitimate replacement for a desktop. It just can't be both at the same time.

Pretty much how I use my 2022 G14. Docked performance is like any other gaming laptop, and battery performance is still more than enough for CAD work on the go. I can even get some lighter games going on battery because the iGPU is actually a little beast.
@CheapBastard1988
@CheapBastard1988 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. With a laptop, you want at least 5 hours of battery life in browsing and video playback and at least an hour while gaming. And if the GPU pulls over 200W, you can do with a bit less on battery. But a bit more performance on battery than it gives now would probably be better. If it can still do that one hour of gaming that is.

I'm not happy that you didn't go over thermals at all. Maybe there was some sort of NDA, but can you mention that? Because that's kind of important to know about I know it's not a review though, it's more of a showcase. So if not, fine... But I feel like even in a showcase that's important to know.

Alex, It would be awesome if you could review some engineering laptops. I manage IT for a manufacturer that uses SOLIDWORKS and Catia extensively from electrical to mechanical to hydraulic design work. I'd love to save money on real estate by putting them on laptops vice workstation desktops. My only viable option I can see now is the MSI CreatorPro Z16p with the A3000 gpu

Right when he unplugged the laptop I got a KZfaq ad for the very same laptop. The commercial featured these 360 swivel slow motion shots of people gaming over hip hop music. Trying to make them look cool for just sitting on their ass As soon as I could skip the ad I come back to the review and the music paired with the drop in FPS made for a hilarious If not serendipitous moment

Are you sure when you unplugged it the battery profile didn't change to battery save mode? Hence why the performance tanked. Cause that was my impression. Cause that is the behavior I expect to see when unplugging a cord from the laptop. It also doesn't help that you did not show the profile when you did unplug it. So potentially there is more performance on battery than what you demonstrated. Remember laptops have to energy profiles. One for on cord and one on battery. So having it on balance mode on cord doesn't mean it will stay in balance mode on battery.

I hate how when razer sells you peripherals they aren't telling you theres 125hz at the keys and mousepad. So, you can't scale the gaming keyboard down. you just have to use both. While the mouse can change its polling rate to accommodate to the refresh rate of the 125hz keyboard. Confused yet? The monitors now come with variable refresh rates(gsync freesync) and adjustable refresh rates at the monitor.
