As much as I loved this season the only thing that I was disappointed with was the lack of scenes with Jane and Madelaine. They had such a beautiful bond last season and we didn't get to see that relationship grow this season.

The lack of Jane scenes altogether was rather disappointing. It was very telling in the “previously” segment, they recapped Madeleine, Renata, Bonnie, and Celeste, but there was nothing for Jane. They really did waste her this season.

@@thanksfortrumpcnnmsnbcandh8771 I think Bonnie and her mother was central to this season, because you see the motive for why she did what she did. Some of that was explored in the book but it was lacking in season one, and so they had to make up for that

But it doesn't feel like the end of the show, it feels like the end of the season. There are so many storylines left open so it just doesn't seem right to end there. Like the comited a crime and confessed. Great, now what? Is anyone going to prison? I guess we just needed one more episode at least.

@@shteve119 no but remember celeste said to perry that she "moved here for you," and left "my family and friends behind for you," and because her accent wasn't truly american, and because i know nicole is completely capable of keeping up an accent different to her own flawlessly from watching her other films where she has a different accent, it makes me think that she was actually intended to be australian in the series, she just had an affected accent from living in america. i think that's why she sounds like she's slipping, but i think it's actually part of the character.

The Finale was so dense, with so many scenes that it should have been a 75 minute episode. Meryl Streep blows me away in everything she's EVER done, but her performance in S2 took her acting chops to a whole new level and she played her part as Celeste's foil Perfectly -- in fact hers was the most complex compelling character portrayal of the entire Season. Her artful range of mannerisms, micro- expressions, body language, tones of voice and layered exposures ---WOW what a Pro. Nothing really surprised me, a few scenes could have been cut since for some odd reason the Finale was only 51 minutes long. In the End, the events, the characters' top notch acting, and finally the emotional punches have impacted me more than I'd expected. Close to home in so many ways (literally and figuratively) triggering a psychic response I wasn't expecting; I feel wrung out. I'm sure that many women watching this Big Little Show must be experiencing a similar personal reaction and hopefully it's encouraging others to always Keep Eyes Wide Open. KUDOS to Nicole and Reese for bringing this story to the viewing public at the right time.

because bonnie was on a path of self destruction. Her arc this season was how she never really dealt with her past, and the resolution was her working it out without any violence e.g. killing her mother or suicide. @TheBluearmy33 Guess my point went over your head. I'll try and make it clearer for you - I'm saying that it's tragic that society (and especially the entertainment industry) places so much pressure on women to stay young and pretty to the point where women feel the need to go under the knife or get shit injected into their face in order to defy the natural process of aging. Folks can do what they want as long as they're not hurting anyone, and if you wanna get cosmetic surgery that's your choice. But I think it's naive to think that societal pressures don't play a significant role in making women feel the need to combat aging in some of the most extreme ways possible. And when it comes to plastic surgery, it reminds me of that old chinese practice of binding women's feet. Chinese women literally had their feet deformed so that they would grow unnaturally and be as small as possible. These deformed feet were seen as sexy by the male-dominated chinese society. But of course it was grotesque and caused unbelievable pain and discomfort for the women that had no other choice but to deform themselves in order to get a husband and not be treated like a pariah in chinese society. This is exactly how I feel about plastic surgery in america in this day and age. It's a symptom of how women are treated like garbage in modern-day society.
