The rental company sent you their maintenance problems . When it's time to pay the bill, adjustment is in order. Make them pay for your down time.

That one shot shows why all the fines seem to go to one side. The wind separates it as it falls out of the conveyor.

That is one complex machine, and it takes a bit of a beating just doing what it does, so yeah problems are to be expected...but a lot of the problems you have had are directly related to how the machine has been maintained...long before you got it. I know the frustration you must feel. It sucks.

I had a small plant with 3 50' radial stackers (made 3 different size products at the same time). I always enjoyed watching the 'pebbles rain' off the end of the stackers...and I throughly enjoyed watching this operation! Thanks for the video!!!

The only time machines break down is when you’re using them and then it’s usually right in the middle of a really good run. Crushers and conveyors take a pounding and quite possibly you got hold of a machine that had not had good maintenance pulled on it. Tough break, stay the course, you’ll come out a winner, thanks for the update, enjoy the videos.

Hello Chris, it's a wonderful thing to see people like Robert and Zach show up to help you with your projects. Robert does whatever you ask him to do and he's a machinist. Would be fun to see a video of you helping Robert at the machine shop.

That sucks. In my own experience rental equipment only get the most basic maintenance from the rental company, because so many different people operates them, and they do not always treat the equipment nice, so it'll be worn out prematurely, no matter the quality of the maintenance.

An hour of maintenance is preferable to days of breakdowns in my book

Every job, every project always has some problem to work out to keep production going. You have worked to finish what others started and gave up on after the 'easy work' was done. Your and Robert`s work ethic is commendable. I remember when concrete was $50 per yard out of the truck,,,used and broken waste was for bulkhead fill of shoreline. Now that its pushing $300 per yard, used concrete is a valuable commodity.

You are right about that if you aren't having breakdowns you are definitely not crushing.

At least you have the fuel trailer to help reduce the maintenance time. Imagine doing fuel with your old buddy tank and a grease gun lol.

The phenomena of the finished products being separated like the bigger stuff than the finer stuff in the pile.It's because the wind is blowing the finer stuff 21 side and the heavier stuff says to the other side

A crushing defeat to an otherwise stellar week. Out of all of the jobs you've taken on, this one seems to be the most labor intensive. A guy needs eyes in twenty places at once, definitely no small undertaking. This stuff will happen, better days ahead, awesome job so far with 2-1/2 massive piles. At least you have material to use on the road until you get a belt.

yeah its tough to keep a crushing operation going solo you just about need a full time mechanic part time operator just minding the crusher and the belts

I don't read all the comments but I think I figured out for myself why the tailings could be one side of the pile, the wind blows the tailings to the side as it comes of the conveyor. Man I just knew Chris was going to say "LET'S GET READY TO CRUMBLE!!!" . LOL

[5:58] The Third Man [10:22] The 220 keeps up with the crusher well enough :-) [19:51] That belt will cost a few dollars to replace. [19:40] Would be a good idea to get the other pieces of rubber, before relocating to the next section, so as to get more stuff crushed and crush the problems :-)

With all that material you can make a lot of roads . That was a nice size pile of rebar to.

I was operating a power screener few years back we putting out different grades of stone and I was running a loading shovel to pile materials up in between loading with excavator 👍 watching again Chris

In one of your previous crushing videos you commented about the fines being separated on the pile. Look at around 8:00 - it looks like the wind may play a part in where the fines end up in the pile.

Any kind of work when you have a conveyer you will get problems and if the servicing is not up to a good standard then crap will happen it's a sham your getting it through Chris, crusher pads and a water leek and now the belt saying bye bye, I just hope the rental company are on the ball and get you a new belt and the rubber guards so you can get back to crushing asap because you still have the concrete bases to crush up that other road, I wish you good luck with the rental company and they get you back working quickly thank's for your great videos they bring back many memories of when I was on site work from shovelling muck by hand to operating excavators and even repairing them.

Chris, you were going so well and getting towards the end of crushing !! It's not your fault that the belt broke, it may have had a weak section and needs to be repaired or replaced. Stick with it and the outcome will be fantastic to you and the owner of the property. Greetings from Australia

mbmm has a turnkey system for processing ores to get precious metals from, they have vids of the system on their yt channel. the vids show how much difference proper maintenance being done makes. while their gear is smaller, crushing hard rock ores is just as hard on the gear and they put the effort in to keep it running right, even to make the maintenance easy to do. the system is a jaw crusher, a conveyer into a hammer mill into a shaker-table into 4 outputs, the 4th being the tailings that drop into a screw conveyer that lifts out the tailings and separates them from the water the hammer mill and shaker-table use. the water is sent into a setting tank and is reused by the system. the first 2 outputs are the pay dirt the 3rd might have some ores but usually not. small gear for smaller tasks but it gets pounded as hard by the tasks.

Losing a belt brings back some tramatic memories for me.....I had just gotten over the pointing and laughing and now this! :)

As the material falls off the conveyor, the bigger pieces fall straight down, and the fines are blown off to one side of the pile. Great job. Do you get paid for the repairs you do to the rental equipment?

Anybody can do the easy jobs. Cudoes to Chris and Robert for doing such a tough job that needed doing. Not being a contractor myself I don’t know how u would bid a job like this if not on a cost plus basis. Great job anyway

Chris I definitely feel like you are doing your part a the renter as far as respecting the equipment, but this rental company has sent you a piece of junk that has not been maintained or checked our at all between renters. They should definitely knock some money off the rental fees.

Heya Chris. Wow. What an ordeal this has been for you. I guess looking back on it after you're done will give you alot of reasons for never ever doing this again! I'm certainly no expert in this, but it seems to me alot of the problems have been with the inferior and poor maintenance and service on a piece of equipment like this. The very last thing you said was the circ belt had a tear in it?? Wtf!! How does a rental company send out a piece of equipment like this without a thorough going over?? At the very least, they should give you a huge credit or reimburse you for lost time etc having to deal with their carelessness. Word will get around within the industry and that company should cease to exist. Hang in there. And sincere thanks for all you do that is honourable, honest and appreciated.

Chris, this has been a beast of a job, but I'm confident to say, you wouldn't have taken it if it wasn't going to pay off handsomely..$$$$ Peace, nicely done.

That concrete has to be hard on your equipment.

I think anyone who runs or has run any heavy equipment has to be calm or become calm. Whether it's a combine harvester a forage harvester or even trucks you can get into some serious problems at least with rock crushing you don't have the pressure of weather and customer complaints. I think powerscreen Terex Finlay have revolutionized crushing and screening 30 years ago only static plants existed so everything would have to be hauled there or you would just have to bury it on site. I remember one such operation and when some breakdown would happen the 2 way radio would get busy and all available men would be called to help and service vans would arrive on site and work through the night and the weekend to get the plants back up and running. So breakdowns don't really phase us we just get involved and the buzz and adrenaline keeps you going plus you get the appreciation from the operator as someone who they can count on in crisis. Love watching the videos it's like a bus man's holiday to me.

on the WelderFabber channel he is always preaching that the crushers he works on need to have a dedicated person sent with them to oversee-operate when renting them out. To many things to maintain and go wrong to have JoeBlow rent out the machine and neglect it.

I have to wonder how badly this project wore down the teeth on the buckets. All that concrete had to be murder on them!

It is very annoying, if on the last Worktime the Convetor Belt to tear! The Time Planing for this Work not to observance is. Then a new Convetor Belt new to instsll to take a long Time. Thank for this good Video. 💪👌👍🥵
