On my farm I do not footbath at all. I also do not trim hoofs, If i have a lame sheep I inject with draxxin and use anti biotioc spray on the foot. I use marker spray on which leg the foot is sore so I can keep on an eye on recovery or relapse, persistant offenders I spray a large C on there side so I know to cull them the next time I go to the mart. Lambs mostly have scald which I use anti biocic spray usually clears up. I also do not keep any ewe lambs from ewes which are lame. I would think of using a footbath if I had all the sheep in the one block put I farm 4 different parcels of land and foot bathing is not practical for me. Keep up the videos really enjoy watching the progress and craic in the Kerry hills.

Injection is far better as it puts it to the root base and you can graze quickly after where as splash plate covers the whole ground contains time to wash in and break down

I have had huge problems with lame sheep the last few years, tried using zinc last year , it was ok but it takes too long to do it as sheep have to stay in the bath for a period of time . I used footvax this year for the first time and it’s been a massive success , lameness in the farm is way down , even the lambs are not getting as many scalds. I still use formulin but not as much and rarely have to inject a lame ewe now

With clik and xtra you want the clicj to dry into the fleece for a good few hours before it gets wet.. or it runs back off the fleece if it rains within 12 hrs of cover you definitely gave wash off unfortunately

Well Glyn I footvaxed last year an I found it made very little difference. For what it cost I don't think it's worth it. I foobath with Formaldehyde fairly strong stuff seems to be good enough.. Great videos there's no growth in meath either..

Footvax doesn't work as good as they say. Form ling works better , but you need to do them again 3 days after the 1st bath

Stick to the foot bathing, major expense in footvax and you’ll still have lame sheep but more over you’ll always have to footbath the lambs anyway so just as well sticking with it, there immune system is down for couple of months simple as that, foot bath should stand them in good stead for rest of the year when this period is over.that’s what I have found.

Smart to breed Sally while she's young. Two litters is plenty for a bitch; now you can have her spayed this Fall and let her live the good life working sheep. Would love to see drone footage of you and your Dad working on that hill, weather permitting. So frustrating to Click and then get inclement weather.

Don't to injection to feet as if there lame it's usually they need trimming inject them doesn't tale you they need trimming

How many chances do you give a ewe to have lambs? And how long after they come up empty do you sell them?
