Thanks kids! Even after 2 years the video is still relevant. I decided to do some maintenance to my Ender 3 Pro with an SKR Mini E3 V3 and tidy up all the wiring for the BL Touch and add a Creality light kit. I think I've had my Ender 3 for about 5 years and the only problem I've had with it was the original controller board quit working so I replaced it with an SKR Mini V2 board, then upgraded the V2 to a V3. What a great video. Thanks to this video and the comments/description, I figured out what was wrong after I had somehow connected the three fans incorrectly, resulting in frequent heat creep due to the hotend fan not being switched on correctly. This video explains the upgrade process much better than the official video. I like the added schematic so it's easy to see exactly what connector you are talking about.

Well, that's not how the BTT documentation I read said to connect the fans, but at this point I'd follow Aurora's lead, as BTT doesn't seem to know squat about their own products. @@egoslammer4207 Don't worry, it doesn't bother me at all, quite the contrary. I'm using the firmware given by BTT "firmware-ender3-bltouch-for-z-homing.bin". It works great with the method given by Aurora Tech. Afterwards, if I must be totally sincere, I think I will recompile a firmware because despite having adjusted the offset of the probe, the ABL is offset on the left as if BTT not integrated a margin on the gris size. It's not disturbing in itself for operation, just a little frustrating.

Thank you for your video, perfectly paced and with all the information explained and shot with an eye to thoroughness but avoiding being repetitive and tedious. I have just bought the BTT mine E3 v3.0 for my E3v2 and am at the moment wiring the LCD cable. I have experience crimping and have the tools as you have (although yours look novelty oversized but i think its the small hands) and bought some IDC blanks and had some suitable ribbon. There is still the other end of the adjusted lead which needs the wires rearranged and put into a plug with crimped connectors. So it isn't for the faint hearted or time poor. In fact the idea that this is a "drop in board" is a little misleading as there are obviously moderate level tweaks to the fw and significantly more involved faffing about with the E3.2 LCD lead.

Great video, I upgraded the v1.2 board in my E3Pro to the newer v3 last December, and the only issue I had was that the stock firmware did not like my SD card being formatted to FAT32. Once I reformatted to FAT16 and applied my own custom firmware I was able to switch back to FAT32. I based my own firmware on the bugfix-2.0.x from Marlin direct, there are v3 BTT configs already available, I added my own tweaks for the TFT, BL-T, NeoPixels and smart runout sensor plus other things, and it works like a charm. Being able to finally shut the hotend fan down when below 50c is wonderful as well as better control of the board fan.

Thanks, I had the exact same problems using the BLTouch Z homing firmware provided on BTT's github. I moved the 2 wires to the Z-stop plug. Might I add that you should mention that if the wires are reversed, it will continue to drive the nozzle down even when the sensor is tripped. Simply reversing the wires solves this. Another great video, but you missed something special. Using the touch sensor as the Z stop, you can replace the springs for posts and never worry about your bed again! Perhaps you can do an update. Instead of trying to cut small tubing to exact lengths, you can just fill the existing screw with common hardware store nuts. Then with a final locknut under the carriage, you have identical length posts. The only worry is the carriage wheels being sufficiently tightened to avoid wobbles. If you try it, please make an update video. Keep up the good work.
