Nothing like a homeowner chatting you up while you are trying to work!! I get this all the time working as a handyman. This is the kind of video that only works on KZfaq, an enjoyable 28 minutes watching professionals doing their job, pure and simple. My first thought was "This should be a TV show", but a TV show would make it all about (fake) drama between the guys, and devolve to the point where we never see the actual work. I wish the car and motorcycle shows I watch on TV were as involved in the actual work.

Nice rope work on the top! Hardly a wiggle. A Humboldt notch when lowering blocks makes things a little smoother, the block falls more on a downward angle in comparison to a standard face cut, which tends to make the block spring away from the stem. Never been a fan of cabling, usually just setting up the next guy and postponing the inevitable. Great job, looks like a great crew!

Thanks for posting this nice comment to Kenneth. After doing this work for 13 years, home owners and customers don't understand why tree work costs so much. These homeowners thought you would come and in one day, take that tree down. I'm going to have this link on my home screen so I can send it to the homeowners before the job starts! Are you guys in BC?

Also, SRT for the win. I'm a CUA and the company I worked for does not allow SRT technique. It makes so much sense, especially for removals. I guess the cost would be too much to train and buy all the equipment one of them largest companies in North America. Good work, stay safe and climb High!

I built a lowering device out of a cub cadet rear wheel and some large eyelet bolts and ratchet straps. It worked really well after we burned the paint off of it. I’m surprised we didn’t burn the rope.Your winch option is great. There were times when I wished we could lift debris back up a couple of feet to clear a snag..now I just do bushes and very small trees. Larger ones I refer to you younger guys with the brains and brawn I used to have. I really enjoy watching.

@@guiltyoftreesoneastsidetre4792 Yes please keep some content coming, you're putting out some good stuff. I think the playback was very good. Seems like some guys are afraid to show too much and people will get bored. I think it's favorable this way.

I appreciate the typed comment for clarification on the use of biners for rigging. Steel Caribiners only used for smaller branches, not large rigging. Lots of people producing these videos dont take the time to talk about the important small details.
