Dan, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. This isn’t the first time I have watched this video, but I just had a bit of an aha moment. I predominantly hunt big woods, and I have killed a few bucks on the edge of the same swamp, all after our gun season during really cold temps. I’m sure there’s more than one factor as to why that was the case, but when you talked about the bucks bedding up on the edges of the high ground after the swamp freezes, I can only imagine that that was a factor in me seeing these bucks during daylight. I was just a little closer because they were bedded just a little closer than they had been before.

Dan, I am definitely a 95%er, almost 50 and have been doing things the same for decades. Your lintel has opened my eyes to some thing that I've known is out there. A better way. Mind blowing. I've been hunting what I consider big woods for over 20 years content with seeing one buck in a year. I recently watched your BBR podcast from 4 years ago. I zoomed in on nearby swamps and cannot believe those lines are deer trails. I am blown away as to how many there are. I'll be out there this weekend to verify. I cannot thank you enough!!!

Loved the big woods series!!!...lm a northern minnesota boy and have been hunting the chippewa national forest for over 40 years...Nothing but big woods, clearcuts, and big tamarack and cedar swamps and bogs...l have never hunted a field or over a food plot, its big woods or nothing...l have a wall full of racks taken in the same places you talked about and love the fact that you are just like the rest of us...An average joe hunter that hunts in the real world, putting miles on your boots instead of money in an outfitters pocket hunting tame deer...l love your channel and recommend it to all my hunting buddies...Keep it up Mr. Beast, you teach a lot of average joe hunters how to be succesful in the big woods!!!

I’m yet to catch a Possum, but managed to get a 25 pound Armadillo back in the 90’s. I let it go in my apartment, we were having a party at the time.My Rottweiler chased it throughout . Those people will never forget that one.

Dan when your talking swamps ,how big of an area do you need to consider it a swamp , I know of some areas in hill country that have thick cattails etc that range in size from 1-5 acres to 30 plus acres or are you talking larger , I never hear much talk about the size of swamps

Just bought beast sticks going 💯 mobile this year, swamp scouting yesterday wow! Do you think clinch straps are strong enough for a hang on or should we be using ratchets trying to avoid the noise factor and the tedious adjustability but appreciate the long sit security a ratchet could provide over a clench. Lmk!
@thehuntingbeast
@thehuntingbeast 3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the stand. If it was designed for a cinch strap and you use a ratchet you may break the stand or weaken it. We use cinch straps on our stands and they have been rate tested way beyond the breaking strength of the stand... Its a lot harder to set up a ratchet mobily.
