Btw: the "bodybuilder" Russell Allen works as a sports teacher, too. Just released an album with former Nightwish singer Anette Olzon, who is again working as a nurse, for her living.

I've taken my import DVD of Live on Earth to shows every now and then and have snagged Floor and Joost's signatures on it during After Forever's only US tour in 2007 and got Russ' Herbie Hancock on Symphony X's 2012 tour for Iconoclast. Sadly, I've never had the opportunity to see Damien or Arjen perform live.

Was at this concert, first ever Ayreon concert, great show. In my home town in The Netherlands. 3 years later at the same place with Stream of Passion, also great! Both out on dvd, Stream of Passion a lot better picture quality....

"Allen has stated in an interview that "Ronnie James Dio is definitely at the top of my list of influences" and also mentioned Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden and former Free and Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers as influences." What's crazy about Russell Allen is that he himself admits that he never studied any signing and that he never even warms up before a show. This is just unfair amounts of natural talent

I am so happy you got round to "Dawn of a Million Souls"! A wonderful song, and the world-changing vocals of "the President", Russell Allen. Arjen Lucassen, who appears on this video, towers above everyone like a giant. :)) Also fun to notice the young Floor Jansen on the backing vox... a role long-forgotten, except for that one (exceptional) NIGHTWISH occasion at Tampere where she backed up Marco for "The Islander". Btw, while this was, as I understand, a STAR ONE show, the song itself appeared on AYREON album " The Dream Sequencer Pt. 2: Flight of the Migrator" and is thus part of the AYREON cannon. SYMPHONY X's Michael Romeo contributed the substantial guitar solo on the studio version.

That was a good choice and rarely reacted to so you get a certain like from for the extra effort, but honestly, from the same concert, Russell Allen really nails "starchild" ... the vocals there will blow everyone away and I would really suggest you give it a shot and watch it, even offline. It really is worth your time. Be well! :)

Heee ... I dit already said that i was present in this concert Starr one in Rijssen. This concert made my head explode from al the good singers. But especialy Russel Allen made me go listen Symphony X! This was in the last part of the show. He especialy was all over with his GREAT voice! Clean, belt, high, low, Grid, grunts... pfffff. He can do it alllll!!!

So many errors (not on the singing tho) but for anyone familar with the musicians (since 1998 in my case), it takes the edge of the analysis. Hope the rest of your channel is better than this
