The Pine Creek Rail Trail is one of Pennsylvania’s destination trails, and for good reason. The 62-mile well-maintained trail runs at the bottom of scenic Pine Creek Gorge, commonly called the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. On smooth crushed stone, the mostly level trail runs from Stokesdale Junction, outside of Wellsboro, PA to Jersey Shore, PA. There is a 2% grade along the entire route. The finely crushed limestone surface is best suited for hybrid bikes. Only Class 1 ebikes are permitted on this trail.
The Darling Run access parking area is the northern access to the PA Grand Canyon and one of the most popular areas to start a bike ride or walk/run. The 16 miles from Darling Run to Blackwell is the most secluded and pristine. Around mile point 13 stop to hike up the Turkey Path - a hiking trail that winds its way to the top of the canyon to the Leonard Harrison State Park lookout area. This ride took place on May, 23, 2024.
🗺️Trail Map: pinecreekvalle...
🚗 Car Shuttle Service - there are a couple of services I found on the internet (NOTE: these are not endorsements as we did not use a shuttle): Pine Creek Outfitters in Ansonia, and Pine Creek Shuttle Service (located on the Southern end of the trail).
🛌Places to stay that are right on the trail: Ludwig’s Trailside B&B, Blackwell; Cedar Run Inn, Cedar Run; Waterville Hotel, Waterville.

Another great video from Adventures on ebikes- thanks so much! You have some of the best e-biking videos out there! I really appreciate your attention to the details regarding parking, bathrooms, food and any relevant historical information. You address the pros (and cons) of each ride and show the viewer highlights of what they can expect along the way. We are heading out to ride a portion of the New River State Park trail next week. We can't wait!

It is a very peaceful ride. There isn’t much, if any, cell service on the trail. They have a couple of emergency land lines at a couple of the rest stops!

@@pedrofernandez8729They have rattlesnake signs about every 5 miles on the trail. If you do any research on the trial in advance they tell you that you are in the middle of nowhere and unlikely to get phone signal - so make sure you have enough water and whatever supplies you think you’ll need. They also encourage you to be careful because it could take an hour or two to get to you if you did need help.

@@Adventuresonebikes Gosh I'm sorry. I posted my comment and didn't realize that you had a bunch of info in the description. Normally it's stuff like trail maps, community names etc that we really look for. Most times we really don't have any idea of the locations etc. So Google maps and Trail apps become our friends.....:) Thanks again for a great video

Enjoying your video, beautiful scenery and country side. Would like more information on where you stayed, name’s of restaurant and pit stops and even the river. Were you in your Rv or hoteling it. When coming from the PNW to see these trails your information would be helpful. Jeff and Liz Bend Oregon

We didn't take the RV because we were only gone two days. We wanted to stay along the trail, and I've included several places I found in my research in the video description. We ultimately stayed in the Penn Wells Lodge in Wellsboro because it just seemed easier to book -- it was only a few miles from where we started on our first day and was a town of some size (compared to the rest of the area), so we thought we'd have more meal options. We ate dinner at an Italian Restaurant within walking distance of the hotel -- the meal was just OK. The river is Pine Creek. This is a very isolated trail, so I would suggest you Google it for more information as there are several sources. Here is one that might be helpful: susquehannagreenway.org/land-trails/pine-creek-rail-trail/. There were only a couple of towns along the route. In Blackwell there was a small store. Cedar Run is the center of the trail. In Cedar Run we ate at the general store. The hotel across the street in Cedar Run only serves dinner. In Waterville we ate at the Waterville Hotel -- I mentioned in the video that you could stay overnight, but there is a 2-night minimum. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching and we hope you have a great trip.

Please give information on the brim on your helmet. Also does it attach to any helmet?
@Adventuresonebikes
@Adventuresonebikes Ай бұрын
The brim is from Da Brim. I believe it should attach to any normal bike helmet. It basically just pushes on. It looks like there are buckles that hook on, but they must be just for decoration because they don't hook to the helmet. It wasn't cheap, but it is of good quality and I received it quickly. Only thing is that if you are riding in a strong wind, you may want to tighten your helmet chin strap if it's a little loose, because the brim gives you a little of the "Flying Nun" effect! Here's a link to their website: dabrim.com/collections/cycling-products. Thanks for watching.
