I remember Sam Kinison doing an HBO Comedy Special just before his passing in 1992. He did the special as a benefit to the mother of Lenny Bruce! When he heard about his mom falling on hard times, he got together with HBO and made sure proceeds from the ticket sales in the theater they used for filming went straight to her! LB was a comedic God who paved the way for modern comedy (for better and worse), so to have Bill Burr do the same for Patrice's mom? Now that's class.🇵🇷🇺🇸😎

Patrice was the kind of guy to call you out on being a tool in your new jacket & point out you got food in your teeth, in the same breath. A true friend. He lived by standards we all should. Not this phony, pretentious bullshit we're surrounded with now. If you were unlucky enough to be targeted by him, you were lucky enough to be befriended by him. His viewpoints on life were unparalleled. He could make you see things in a new light and way you hadn't thought of before. From relationships to the illuminati & racism. Bless him. Conan did well there. Lots of other interviewers would've waited & let him get more upset. Respect.

There are of course plenty of comedians we wish were still with us. Farley, Williams, and Patrice were game changers. You can find some of the best stories about Patrice from all his friends, and this clip shows he was and still is loved. And years later it doesn’t get any easier watching how crushed a guy like Burr gets. RIP big man

*Eastside Low Bottoms shit !* Shout out to Billy Burr. I kno he and Patrice and Quinn and a Kevin Hart and a bunch of other guys came up thru the ranks together. These dudes were comedy GOLD whn they got together ! U could tell they've all known each other for a long time because they were BRUTAL towards each other on Quinn's show or id they were on the radio together, especially if they could CURSE ! Patrice O'Neal RIP. I listen to something with Patrice in it LITERALLY every day on KZfaq.

Bill sounded like a little kid and could barely even say “money for his mom and his wife”. Man, these two red headed lunatics and Patrice were and still are such a big part of my life. It better be a while before we lose these two

Comedy Central and Bill Burr are now in the process of making a full length documentary on the life and career of Patrice O'Neal.

Bill is a legend. He hung with Kevin Hart, Patrice, Charlie Murphy, Donnell Rawlings and Dave Chappelle. He is a class act to take care of Patrice's wife and mom

If patrice O'Neal saw this he would give Bill Burr a hard time for being emotional.

Bill and Patrice knew each other for a very long time. They were hanging out when they were still living at home with their parents. What's great about that benefit is that Billl keeps it going year after year. He said he didn't want it to be like other benefits where they do it the first year and then never again and the family is struggling to survive. Bill knew that Patrice made a commitment to Von and his mother to take care of them for the rest of their lives. And we can see the results. Patrice's mom bought herself a condo and his wife started a college fund for his stepdaughter. Very nice to see

The way Conan acknowledged his feelings, calmly helped him through without making a big deal when he was clearly struggling and continued to pat him on the shoulder even after the end of the segment. Both class acts and genuine people. Beautiful and rare to see in Hollyweird. So much respect.

Two of the greats right here in this video. Conan really handles this like a gentleman. A real role model the way he conducts himself here. I want to be the kind of person to handle this like he did. Also very rare to see Bill so emotional - he’s got some incredible Patrice stories, really makes you wish you could be a part of that comedy club table they used to sit at.
