While hyperfocusing on killing an opponent may be suited for this venue... it's still an exploitable weakness.

The letter Discord was writing to Celeste is in front of Fluttershy. It's likely Discord knew he wasn't coming out of this alive and so wrote a goodbye letter before he went into the fight and pulled the self sacrifice to save the world.

Some fun trivia about the fight: You may have already heard of it, but this one and Cole VS Alex were both part of a “Champions Poll” that Death Battle started doing fairly recently to let their audience decide for two matchups in a season, one Poll for 2D fights, the other for 3D fights Bill Cipher VS Discord was the winner of the 2D Poll, and the next one, Cole MacGrath VS Alex Mercer, won the 3D Poll, which, as the name suggests, confirms the episode will be 3D-animated. There’s another thing tho, the fights that didn’t win their respective polls aren’t out for good, the fact that they showed up in the polls at all mean that the Death Battle crew is aware of them and plans to make them…..eventually. Yunno, some time in the future…..but eventually. I’d say it’s pretty cool how they’re giving their audience a bigger voice for the matchups they want to see

Man to think you where thinking about skipping this one, glad you didn't. Honestly the fights in this season have been going pretty good since it seems they are focusing on a lot of fan favourite fights from their community, there are some battles here and there that are not so hype, others a bit weird but the animation is pretty good and even the analysis are fun to watch. This season is going hard.

Yeah the matchup was pretty close, just never thought that it was very well done, as for the next one, they are really hyping up for the episode of Alex Mercer vs. Cole McGrath which is also one of the most requested matchups ever which I'm looking forward to see that episode

Bill won the battle, Discord won the war, but both are not gone forever. Didcord is the embodiment of Chaos and will eventually reform-according to Cosmos,a similar embodiment of a concept, that of malice-and Bill will eventually escape the Nightmare realm.

You gotta learn from Pheonix vs Raven. The main reason why Bill won is because he had a more reliable way to end the fight which is destroying Discord's soul as well as his body. And Bill could regenerate his spirit unlike anything that we've seen Discord do. But hey i was Rooting for bill and was leaning more so towards him by logic after seeing the analysis for that reason so im happy about it.

This was an interesting one and I'm so glad that it won the 2D poll it was a lot of fun for sure they were so even matched in reality breaking power and fourth walls awareness that their personalities were ultimately what determined the winner. Oh and in case you were wondering the backwards messages hidden in the song and at the end were. "Why are you listening to this part backwards? Don't tell me you're one of those tinfoilers? You do know the track doesn't decide the winner right?" & "REALITY IS AN ILLUSION, THE UNIVERSE IS A HOLOGRAM, BUY GOLD, BYEEEE!"

i also want to point out something, they didnt mention about the UFO field surrounding Gravity Falls that nullifies bill's power so its also possible the bell could also nullify bill's power but thats just speculative

People saying Discord was who really won... Take this from a diehard fan of both shows: You guys saw how Bill did a 180 from being completely PISSED, yeah? That’s because he knows that somewhere out in the multiverse, he can just go somewhere else and do the same thing. He doesn’t care about Equestria nor does he care about Gravity Fall’s Earth. He just cares about causing a universe to become his playground. In general, he mainly sees this as an inconvenience. Discord’s straight up gone for an undisclosed amount of time. So long as chaos exists, Discord exists... But when he “dies”, he’s essentially in a coma that could last from a few days to a few centuries. By then, all of his friends could be gone, which is a fate worse than death. So yeah. They both won, but they also both lost. We all know how Bill won and lost, but Discord has it worse. He won by saving Equestria, but lost due to the possibility of Fluttershy already being dead by the time he comes back.

It would’ve been hilarious if discord just popped up and changed the winner to himself, because in all seriousness Discord can’t die unless chaos dies and there’s no world without chaos. He’s the spirit of chaos, and even if he did die, the spirit of harmony would probably find a way to get him back anyways. Since they can’t really exist without each other and harmony is stronger than discord anyway so like. Whatever. Leaves me to another point. The spirit of harmony which is basically the spiritual and universal nature of the mlp universe, and basically how the elements were forged and how the world stays in balance. The spirit of harmony has shown to take actions into its own hands before, it’s it’s own being like discord. And like I said before it can easily deal with discord, as the elements (the weakest form of harmony magic) can banish him in stone and keep him from unbalancing the world until the mane six came to be. So with the laws of this universe, it wouldn’t had ever had a chance of being taken over, the ponies are gone, and discord gone, harmony would just fix itself and correct the wrongs to rebalance the world. It’s dealing with another threat that’s too abnormal not to be dealt with on its own.

The fight teases some new fights and showed some cameos, here the ones i have seen Sans: behind the drum of weird day Cuphead and bendy: in the cartoon dimension Kool aid and macho man: in the stop motion dimension Rick , the doctor?(i can't see if it's really him) john constanine? dipper and mabel the 3rd book and martian manhunter: when bill is atacking discord with his laser in the air I heard a comment about ann and luz (amphibia and owl house) at the beggining with a hat and a sword but can't really see it
