Personally I thought bill would have won before seeing the episode but I understand why people think discord would have won. This match is one of the interesting ones where feats doesn't really matter as both can just do anything

also despite the scaleing in this episode not being correct god do i love it i do perfer discord as a character but man his ending and whole thing was satasfing despite me wishing he would use more

I was kind of in the middle and found their explanation pretty satisfactory, I won't hate on anyone who thinks otherwise as long as they don't just trash the crew for the results.

The thing is that this fight is THAT close, that either decision I wouldn't be mad at cause either or winning can make sense, and I think the fight embodied that actually. Technically, it was a stalemate, because Bill will make a deal and escape, but Discord will also come back, but for the sake of the battle, Bill DID kill Discord, so Bill was the technical winner there. In the grand scheme of things, it was more so a draw.

Personally, I just wish they would have argued it better. They claim Bill is more powerful without giving any numbers or explanation behind it. Giving Discord the bell and then claiming it wouldn't affect Bill without giving reason the why the Shack is as strong or stronger than the bell. And using something Bill only claimed without any backing feats and presenting is hard undeniable fact. I'm fine with Bill winning, and this is hard one of my favorite episodes ever, even if Discord was my preferred combatant.

I think the argument of mentalities is a bit unfair to Discord, since in situations where he knows he's against an equal he *does* take stuff seriously. The only time Bill's done so is against Time Baby, but since he's on screen far less time, that comes across as much more 'a part' of his character. In reality, I think both have similar mentalities in that regard, but Bill is more inherently aggressive, whereas they chose to give Discord his canonical knowledge of Bill.

He doesn't have that same bloodthirst that Bill has and while DB has characters always willing to kill, that is definitely something to consider. Especially in a match that is this much of a toss up. We've also seen him time and again get what he wants by exploiting peoples character flaws. I'm certain he'd be able to play off of his more lax nature before going in for the kill.

Bill also kept all of his mindscape powers when he entered the real world, it’s stated that he got more powerful after gaining a physical form. But it’s a very complex matchup regardless of what you believe.

Show me the feats that are beyond multiversal at least, and note to yourself, Bill being a threat to the multiverse doesn't indicate that he is able to destroy all of it. It simply means that he isn't a localized threat, as he has the ability to travel to other universes.

That would make Bill 5D - 6D (Low Complex Multiversal) And that’s the lowest cosmology interpretation, there are arguments for Hyperversal and even Outerversal if you believe that the Gravity Falls Multiverse is a Type 3 Multiverse. But that’s a debatable topic.

I think comparing its effect on a random totem poll to Bill himself is weird, since it was a gradual effect, the totem struck the barrier multiple times before eventually falling over. So it logically wouldn't debilitated *Bill himself* if it wasn't an instant activation on a random totem. Whereas the Bell drained Discord in seconds. There's not enough evidence to say that Bill was unaffected entirely

GF having higher dimensions I'm fine with, but I don't scale Bill to it directly, funnily enough.

Them choosing to Give Discord the Bell also gives him the opportunity to drain Bill, and no, I do not think their arguments against that make any sense.

The only problem is that bill's weaknesses are very specific and I don't think will carry across dimensions due to ford having to gather parts from different dimensions to make the gun that didn't even hurt bill

Because in the same AMA Bill admits to gassing himself up, so I take everything in it with a grain of salt. (In the case of the kaleidoscope specifically, I do not see any indication he can actually see all possibilities in the show, I'd argue it has no substantiating evidence)

Problem is that their argument against it doesn't make sense, it's acting as though you *expect* Bill to be affected in a similar manner to the random totem pole, despite the likely astronomical gap in power between them, not to mention, even the totem pole wasn't affected instantly, so it's clearly an over time effect.

@@eon1014 All Discord would need to do is take whatever power Bill is using at that moment, and now all of a sudden he has all of Bill's powers and can't be killed nearly as easily, and will be massively more powerful than Bill for a time. They make no claim that Bill knows MLP, and I don't believe that is the case in general, whereas they very explicitly show the opposite.

Funny you say that, considering I was the only one who actually said that, and I very clearly if you watch the video, was not talking over much if anything of the Post Analysis, the rest of the time you can see my eyes are glued to the screen and my face is pretty blank. Believe you me, I was paying very close attention to the arguments, and even after a rewatch I still disagree. This isn't a case where I just ignored what they were saying. I just do not agree with what they were actually saying.

I believe he can, he's survived worse before, like actual Existence Erasure. Him fading away was specifically due to him going against his design, betraying his own nature. That's not to say he can normally be erased.

Plus other options like the Bell making it so that he could literally gain all of Bill's abilities for himself, and no, Bill should not be able to ignore it.

Bill obviously wouldn't drain nearly as fast as the totem. The Bell on the other hand was capable of draining Discord in seconds, the Bell and the Barrier are in two different leagues.

You also have no way of knowing how much "latent" weirdness that totem had, because bill at this time had no limits besides the barrier keeping him trapped in gravity falls.

The thing is, Discord can come back because he is chaos personified. But considering that we have no evidence for Discord having soul regeneration (unlike Bill) it makes sense to think that he would naturally recover at the very least slower then Bill when it comes to soul related damage, let alone if said soul was completely destroyed. And about the time travel bit, keep in mind that not only can Bill do that too but more importantly, Bill can see the future and has way more battle experience then Discord. Can agree on the fight being incredible thou.

@@LuisSilva-rai I can get what you’re saying, but Discord in the comics has also shown awareness of future events more solidly then a single statement of Bill being able to do so (which can be called into question with how much he gets tricked by the Pines family or other humans in general). After all, when Discord allowed Luna into his mind, they walked down a path with many doors and according the the being who personifies chaos, each of the doors was a possible future and for Luna to get out, she needed to go through one of these possible futures without his aid. So while you can argue that Discord cannot know a definitive future, he is very much aware of the different possibilities and can mitigate a lot of what Bill can do with that. Also, while it is fair to assume that Discord requires time to come back if his soul is damaged or destroyed (despite him surviving and recovering from existence erasure), his soul should be capable of tanking a good deal of punishment considering how it should be stronger than Dipper’s soul by nature.

You cant however use the argument that humans did this and that to Bill because he is always underestimating them and viewing them as lower then himself, this wouldn't be the case with Discord (again look at his fight with Time baby). Anything he sees powerfull is gonna take seriously. And as well, Bill didnt just state he can see the future, he has visibly shown it several times in the show on top of obviously controlling time itself. Point is, both are equal in terms of power and general stats and capabilities along with both being essentially impossible to kill. Sure Discord could come back sense he is the embodiment of chaos and such but Billy also cannot be killed in this scenario. Really. He died in the show because of a combination of being tunnel visioned and heavy understatementing humans. Its not gonna be the case here. Really the only way any of them could win a decisive "victory" is via imprisonment. Thats it. And sense Bill is, at the very least, abit smarter and with more experience fighting reality warpers for literally trillions of years. It makes sense why he COULD win. Not a guaranteed but again, this was a stupid close fight.

I don’t know the issue number since I only saw the panel, but if you look through some KZfaq shorts that debate the topic and show off proof or look through some videos about how powerful Discord is in the comics, then you should be able to find what I’m talking about. Also, I will give you credit in that Bill does take similarly powerful characters seriously (such as your Time Baby example), but Bill does show to still be arrogant when he struggles, like with the Shack mech that beat his pals and had been giving himself trouble physically. As for Bill seeing into the Future, I can’t remember a time where he did that (though admittedly it has been a long time since I watched Gravity Falls) and if you are referring to the fact that Bill made a deal with that time traveler whose life Dipper and Mabel briefly ruined the life of, I could argue that it was simply through time travel, though I can then somewhat see your point. Also, while I don’t know how their future seeing abilities fully work, it is possible that their reality warping would prevent the 2 from being capable of truly seeing into the future because everything is changing at all times. Also, I do agree that no matter who the winner is, Bill vs Discord is going to be an Insane difficulty winner for them. Also, while Bill would take things seriously this time, so would Discord since he has taken beings similar in power to himself seriously, like the character who Death Battle brought up that was the Concept of Malice in the same way that Discord was the Concept of Chaos. Plus, while they did disregard the bell, I do think it would work considering how it could instantly drain beings that wielded Discord’s own magic of that power entirely, so even if Bill can’t be entirely drained by the artefact (which I doubt, as despite the barrier not stripping Bill of his power, it was likely because he had greater amounts of power than any being that touched it upto that point), the triangle should still lose a solid amount of power that would then be added to Discord’s own for a power advantage. Either way, you can literally toss a coin and say that heads means Bill wins and Tails means Discord wins and you wouldn’t be wrong for an instant.

The thing with the Shaktron, Bill was also being rather carefree and reckless in that fight, because while sure, he couldn't do much to it, but..what could the robot even do to Bill? Nothing really, sure it worked with Bill's minions but they werent anywere near the power and capabilities of Bill himself pluus..he did eventually beat that thing up soo..yea. And while yes Discord would eventually take Bill seriously, it would be too late by that point. Thats just how Discord is. Grogar's bell is a potent tool yes...however thats just it, a tool. Even if we ignore the Unicorn force field barrier negating magic, Bill's Weirdmaggedon continously gives him power, just passively over time, and even if we say that the bell instantly saps his power, more would come from his Weirdmaggedon. And then there's the other factor i said before, the fact Grogar's bell is a tool aka not a main power of Discord, what this means is that while he could use it to battle Bill, there would be nothing stopping Bill from stealing or even destroying the bell, likely as soon as it is used on him once. Add to that the fact that while Discord does know how to operate and use the bell, it isnt something he uses frequently, it was only used by him once or twice maybe and thats it. This is important because with Bill's higher expertise and battle experience, he could, quiet easily find an opening/chance to, as said before, either steal the bell or destroy it. I will admit that if Grogar's bell agility to steal magic was a power that Discord just...had by default integral to himself then yea this would be a much bigger factor and there would be a much higher chance of Discord winning, straight up. But because it is an item, a tool, something external to him that he has to use/activate in order for it to do anything. It rends that point mute since there would be some many ways for Bill to mess with it and remove it from the fight, or worse, turn it on Discord.

Because in that same AMA he admits to gassing himself up, making him a somewhat unreliable narrator.
