The story of this abandoned castle mansion is a strange one. Originally built in 1973, this massive 9000 sqft mansion sits on 6 acres of beautiful property. The castle last sold in 2007 as a fixer-upper for 1.6 million dollars and since has been lived in by many different people. The address has also been registered under several businesses of the people who lived here, one being a contractor who incorporated his business in 2010 and dissolved it shortly after in 2013.
The last tenants of the property were leasing the home. It's unsure when their lease started but it's clear they were unable to make the payments. Tossed throughout the home are empty boxes of designer clothing, shoes, and jewelry. Receipts show the family spending upwards of $4000 on clothes on one trip shopping. Facing massive debt from their lease and inflated lifestyle, the family abandoned the home sometime in 2021 leaving behind almost all of their possessions.
For the next few years, the home sat abandoned and in limbo, as the leasing company attempted to find the family to collect the 14 million dollars in debt they had incurred. In 2023 the Bailiff company took possession of the property and all of its contents.
While exploring, another explorer was held at gunpoint by the apparent owners of the property. They questioned her presence at the home but ended up letting her go without issues. She noted that they resembled the men from the photos left in the home. For this reason, I have blurred the photos I found just, to be safe.
It's unclear what the fate of this Castle Mansion is, but for now, lets take a look at what's left behind.
I apologize if the camera work was a bit fast throughout this video,
I was nervous here and wanted to get through this place fairly quickly

You can live in a house for 50 years & the walls & ceilings wont peel. But as soon as a house isnt a home or loved..it starts to die rapidly. My house was built in 1830 & youd never be abke to guess. But if it was no longer a home..it would die within a year.

This residence belonged to a Chinese developer whose family had relocated to Canada with their wealth accumulated from a Chinese construction business. Unfortunately, the Chinese government imposes restrictions on the amount of money allowed to leave the country. Despite their continued affluence, the family encountered barriers preventing them from transferring funds to canada. While their departure was not hasty, they left behind most of their belongings when returning to China, unable to bring them along. Neglecting to settle their bills in Canada led to the imposition of liens on their property, resulting in its forfeiture. Interestingly, this scenario is not uncommon among Chinese immigrants attempting to establish a life beyond China. Abandoned Rolls Royces, residences, and other luxurious possessions become a common sight after families face restrictions from the Chinese government.

Why would anyone need such a huge home? It is crazy! I have a 3000 sq foot home and it is way too big. This house is massive. Like a hotel. Imagine having to call your kids for dinner or how about at night where you don't know if anyone is in the home because it is so huge.

Its a lifestyle choice. One that more than 90% of the rich choose too follow. Waste, waste, waste. The little people are definitely below such living standards. Their children grow into this stuffy, snobby, arrogance that they are indeed privledged. Like the rich apes in Hollywood putting on aires for the world too witness. They are above the rest of us.

I know it’s impossible but it would be so cool to see what this house looked like when it was lived in and thriving! This mansion is so beautiful! It’s so sad to think of all the things left behind and how hard someone worked once to build just for it to be left abandoned and destroyed!

People seem to forget, buildings don't only rot and crumble after they've been abandoned. A lot of times, they're already having issues like leak and mold before they become abandoned. Especially a home like this, where they were clearly struggling to keep up with the bills already. They were likely not able to afford the upkeep on something so large either.

This sure was an awesome video. I've lived in a 30 room, 8000 sq ft home and had a separate apt from the rest of the house but inside the basement. I was a Nanny for this Family for 10 yrs. Now those kids are in their 40's. I've noticed that any house with an indoor pool, sauna or spa will have mold issues because warm air, especially warm and moist air rises so any air-conditioning does not stand a chance at cooling those areas. The house I lived in sat on 6 acres but a pool was not added outside until the house was about 5 yrs old.
@cynthiamatthews
@cynthiamatthews 4 ай бұрын
I think having good exhaust fans in the pool area can prevent the moisture problems. However, the mold seems to be the most prevalent in adjacent rooms. Either the ventilation wasn't sufficient for those rooms, or there were leaky pipes above the ceilings.

Plus, your camera is excellent and your videography equally so -- no shakes, blurs from moving the camera too fast -- the wide-view perspective of each room as well as the detail stuff. Thanks for blurring the photos, that's a good idea but it's also kinda neat that you showed the photos blurred, too. Anyway, well done. Great video. Very interesting house. I'm speechless. What a cheaply made expensive house. A mansion made with spec materials is a gross misuse of the power you have when you believe you're rich. This thing is insane,(-ly zero character, and has so many strange and useless spaces that all look the same.) and I recognized the Fu Dogs because I went to China with my mom on a business trip in 1986. (The Male has a ball under his paw, and the female has a pup under hers.), and I recognized the "Lazy Susan" table by the pool. The business meeting my mom had was at a table like that, where all of the family style entreés are on the small round in the center of the table that can spin around, and so it's a bit like a table buffet. and let's say that the dinner in the factory left an impression on my 10 year old brain - and palate! We need to keep traditional building techniques alive, though, really. Was this thing built in the 90's? It's giving me that vibe.

Loved the railings and most of the finishings inside the house. Great tour. But….a “bailiff” works in a court and keeps order in the court. A bondsman posts bonds and gets to keep the 10% or whatever amount the bond company requires up front to post the full bond. If a person skips, the bond company is out any money they did not collect up front. The bonds company might send a bounty hunter out to find the skip or seek other means to collect the debt but NO person or entity would have the legal right to ransack a home for valuables. There may have been squatters in the house. Someone obviously drank all the alcohol and put those bottles back. It has most likely been looted many times over. But thank you for the tour. Good job.

You did a nice respectful tour of that abandoned mansion, Noah. May the deceased RIP. As you brought us from room to room, I saw lots of things that could still bring money, i.e. the Gym Equipment, the Chairs, the heavy wooden doors, fireplaces, furniture throughout, and the spectacular chandeliers/railings. It has already been cleaned out, but there's still lots that can be sold at auction. The Entrance was underwhelming. Personally, none of it suited my taste.

Excellent points you make, especially about the entrance and general appeal of the mansion. (Not for me either.) I am also concerned the creditors might junk instead of sell the remaining items, and repurposing the wooden cabinets, expensive marble and windows. I have seen contractors trash many valuable items to save their own time. To me that kind of waste is heartbreaking.

Well, they probably didn’t have the option to take everything. Eviction? Maybe only have a day or a few hours to take what they can? When stuff like that are left behind it’s obviously shows they had to move out quick

The moisture from the pool (when it was in use) could cause the fan blades to warp/droop downward. These were not the right type of fans for an indoor pool space.

Hi Noah! I have just recently discovered your channel and am working my way through your videos, it isn’t often I’m lost for words but holy hell that place was absolutely insane,it just kept going and going I have never seen a place like that before. I would love to know what went on here ,some fishy business I’m sure! Wouldn’t like to be that family if the bailiff ever caught up with them! Thank you for a fantastic explore 😊👍🏻

This mansion creeped me out. It wasn't that someone may have died there. Although that is sad, RIP. It's because a family's life was represented by 1,000's of bills and papers scattered violently on the floor. As you walked through with the camera, I felt sick to see such a mess. It was obviously a stressful experience for the parent(s) and their child(ren). Even though the excess spending was their fault, the governmental issue with China was not. Nothing soft or comforting was left in the mansion. Even the kids toys looked haunted. There were too many cold empty rooms, sharp angles, messy trash strewn sloppily over valuable items and that toxic scary black mold. I hope you are ok after being exposed to the mold.

Probably because the owner died. And they couldn't get to the money they pay for it. Because he did say the owner died and there was a lot of bills left so that would explain it.

It's so sad to see such a massive beautiful architectural masion be abandoned. This mansion is a beautiful place. Who ever lived here took for granted how blessed they were to have such a beautiful home. Just because they have money that does not mean you go out and buy a massive mansion just to leave it abandoned. There are many people who can not afford to buy a simple three or four bedroom house; not along a huge mansion. I would appreciate living in a simple home! Not along a baby mansion would be fine! I will appreciate it and fill it with love and love of family. There are to be a law written into law about protecting such homes from abandonedment and destruction and looting. The mansion can be save and be restored to it's original architectural beauty. The mansion deserves to be respected and preserved. I only hope that someone will buy the beautiful castle like mansion and gives it the love of appreciation. Maybe the mansion can become a hotel resort or something. My final statement is that we all are blessed to live in a homes or apartments. It's like it God's house he blessed us with. Because God blessed us to live in these homes. So to me all homes should be respected and appreciated no matter the size. Home should be a place of family, and love. It's perpairing us for the next level God's homes in heaven. ❤😊

Gatehouse looks like the house just for proof of knowledge :) I also know about the house that used to be north of this one ..

@@elizabethwells6748 Ahh the house that was north of here was also abandoned due to overstretched budget , homeowner left the house and rented it to a bunch of shady folks who grew tremendous amounts of ganja in the house prior to it being legal in Ontario ..
