Wendy and Dan have been married less than a year and have a 6 month-old daughter. They also have significant debt, loans from family that have ruined relationships, and a baby who needs special formula that costs $200 a week. Dan is working all the time to make ends meet, and Wendy, a dance instructor, is contributing a little cash by teaching. But their tiny income, disgruntled creditors and their inability to meet their bills could be the curtain call on their relationship.

My sister had the same issue being a nanny. Had a French mom that was the biggest helicopter parent in the world. Gives in to everything the child cries about, goes and sleeps in her kid's bed with her EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, couldn't keep her out of her sight for more than 2 hours, etc. They moved away for her husband's job, and she literally quit hers to be a stay-at-home mom despite not being able to afford it because even though my sister was wonderful with their child, she couldn't stand the idea of someone other than herself looking after her child. Yet she had the gal to complain about in-laws wanting to be involved in their granddaughter's life calling them "clingy".

I believe that they did find a way for them to afford for Wendy to be a stay-at-home mom. He got a job that pays a bit better and they found a less expensive house to rent. And if she can pick up photography shoots that can put some butter on the bread. Everyone has their personal priorities and I'm glad that she was pushed to think outside the box to come up with a way to preserve hers.

I am super angry Wendy did not want to allow her husband to spend time with their daughter so she can go and earn once a week. He said its a really great stress relief for him after working hard all week. Why should she be with her daughter 24/7 and deprive him of a few hours with the daughter? The kid won't get to know the father at that rate. Then she whinged all Sunday, the little time they had together as a family. Having said that, she's a talented lady who would be wasted in cleaning or in retail. She needs develop her photography business. I'm glad the couple worked it out in the end with their own ideas.

@@hollyb6885 well then, it's a shame you wrote such a mean and judgemental comment about another mother on a reality TV show. Reality shows are notorious for spinning narratives and playing into negative stereotypes for the sake of entertainment and at the expense of the person being filmed. Our culture often judges and tears down moms while having very little understating of their individual histories or circumstances and offering very little support. It doesn't surprise me to see you taking part in it and even be proud about it. A lot of moms will say some variation of "well, at least I'm better than her," to deflect that judgement away from themselves. But it is sad to see.

Talk about a CATCH 22. Wendy trapped Dan with a pregnancy thinking having a baby meant she didn't have to work. Dan is working 24/7 trying to pay for everything Mrs "Stay at Home Mom" wants. Wendy's pissed that Dan isn't home more helping her with the house and baby. Dan is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. If I didn't think Wendy would be one of those angry controlling "single moms" who refuse to let their ex see the kids I'd advise him to divorce that witch. Best thing to come out if this episode is that Dan quit smoking. ❤

Divide it by 3 and you get less that 2 points each. Toni Braxton also declared Bankruptcy (twice) apparently. Neither have a Contract, and LaFace Racords that they recorded for (A Division Of Arista) now it's a shell of it's former self.

Wendy is in total denial about the situation when she has decided to be a stay at home mum, as Dan himself can't make sufficient income on his own and she won't even pull her portion of the weight to financially support the family. Even if Dan works a second job while Wendy stays at home to care for Rowan, it's not fair to Dan as he's totally cut off from his daughter due to financial obligations. In Canada there's a very high percentage of households that are raising children with 2 working parents (dual income), because of now the high housing costs (in relation to the income) and some even had to have family member from an elderly generation to provide for childcare (3-generational households), again for economic reasons even with generous incomes.

If there was something that alot of the couples have in common is that they spend more than they make. I remember reading The Adrian Mole Books and after his Friend Parvez got through with him, he realized he couldn't afford to live where he did, didn't pay his taxes, jumped from job to job, and worked in a Bookshop. He got his life on the right track but he never saw monetary stability. His mother got by on "Assistance", he grew up in he 1980's and in England it was very rough, then his Father was chronically unemployed which also caused problems.

I think this entitled mom would be perfectly happy on welfare because she really doesn't want to work and the baby is a pleasant but also a convenient excuse. I would be surprised if her LT goal is to be a SAHM, which is fine if your spending is under control and is commiserate with your income. She doesn't seem to realize that money she spent added to their debt and by telling her credit card holder she can't pay the bill doesn't take care of the problem. I feel very bad for the husband who is a hard worker and seems very responsible.

Dance teachers in the US make 50-100 dollars an hour for private lessons. If she is talented why can she cannot do that? Im sure the studio owner makes 35-50 percent of that charge but still its a lot of money

She's so determined to refuse to accept reality now, and it's "only" about money. I think of what else life can hand us over time: an accident, an illness, lasting disability, a house fire or flood that leaves you with the clothes you stand in and that's all, a sudden layoff.....if you have no grit, no do-or-die spirit in you, you'll collapse. If you have grit you can survive and bounce back. You may not get the life you planned but you'll grow in love and wisdom and joy in spite of all. How has it happened that we are producing so many people who have no grit?

I’ll bet he’s long gone. I cannot imagine living with somebody like her. Totally treated him with contempt. Did she ever look in the mirror? She should’ve kissed his butt every day came home. Oh my God. So I would’ve given anything to work 2 days a week and not have to pay a babysitter and have a dad home.
