PART 3 COMING SOON. Aging paint with fuel, oil, & fire. If you try this, make sure you are in an open area clear of flammable chemicals & materials. Make sure there is no fuel, fuel vapor, or other volatile liquids or vapors in the tanks. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby. Do not let accelerant get on your clothing. Keep your source accelerant (I used gasoline) far away from the fire. Do not hold your flame source with the same hand you apply accelerant with- designate a dedicated hand for each. Be safe.

People tend to ride bikes more when they don't have to worry about keeping it scratch free and dirt free. Ride in that rain, tie some camping gear on the back, take some dusty dirt roads exploring while having fun. Make it a piece of moving art instead of stationary art.

Yessir ! My bike ain’t no show bike that’s for sure and sometimes it bugs me all the little scratches and dings but in reality your right… i would hate to have a perfectly clean bike and worry about messing it up .

I don’t have a bike, but I do have a 33’ ford pickup. Besides for hammer and dolly work the body is untouched. It tells a story from front to back. Different panels from about a dozen pickups, but they’re all nice. Just not painted. The drivetrain has been gone through to make it reliable and as fun to drive as possible, cause driving, or riding, is what it’s all about.

I love seeing the 72 Electra glide take shape in its new life! I bought a 72 flh like yours a few years ago because I happened across it and the guy gave me a deal. Took me a couple of years to get used to it, was deff not like riding a new bike at all. I got to learn how to work on it from an old timer who basically stopped working on bikes when evolution motors became prominent. I got lucky to get an old school education on Shovelheads from an old school mechanic. Wouldn't ride anything else after riding and learning my shovel. ✌

Looks really good Billy. That color, I really like that color man. I once owned a 2003 cvo road king that was centennial gold with the harley davidson on the tank was gold leaf. That color is like a brass looking color. Even tho it was a screaming eagle 103 twin cam, a friend that's a Harley mechanic did the works to it and it made about 120 tq. I had to sell it, I really miss that bike.
