I'm an atheist, but everyday, I subscribe to more and more Christian values. After going through the pain firsthand that my promiscuity caused, I see now why these values are important. Thank you for putting my feelings about the matter in a way I couldn't.

I recently started going to church and purchasing modest dresses. I’ve noticed that since I’ve been wearing them, my husband had called me beautiful more than ever. I feel like it’s a type of beauty that is better than lustful appeal when we dress modestly. We are showing that we are beautiful daughters of God, mothers, wives (or wives to be). We are showing our value and in turn attract valued partners. I feel more feminine now.

What’s so crazy is you heard Him tell you His validation is what mattered ❤ I had a very similar experience. My husband had been having an affair and it flipped my world upside down. I started drinking excessively, lost a bunch of weight, tried to be “sexy” to prove a point to my husband. I felt not loveable enough to my core. I went through a feeling of numbness where I didn’t care if I lived or died. I was sobbing on my knees one day and I heard Him say to me..”Your worth is not from men on earth. It is not from your husband. Your worth is in me. You are VALUABLE to me. I LOVE YOU. “ and my life has never been the same since. The love of our Father…. There is nothing like it.

Many years ago, I read a quote that said “Modesty is not about masking your beauty, it’s about managing it.” My apologies that I don’t remember who to credit for the quote, but am thankful for the wisdom.

Not sure about the origins of the quote, but this is one I live by: “Dress the way you want other women to dress around your husband.” If more women did this out of respect for each other and our children, we would protect ourselves as well as our husbands. ♥️

I'm 16 and decided within the past couple of days to start dressing more modestly. Although I don't really dress immodestly, the clothes I wear do draw more attention to my body because of my figure. As I'm getting older and getting ready to graduate high school I feel it's the right thing to do as I am spiritually and emotionally getting more mature. I just wanted to say that your video is the first one I've watched and it has really helped me figure out how I feel the Lord is calling me to dress and protect myself, so thank you so so much!

I probably should have waited until the end of the video to comment. I have noticed that being modest has not just affected my clothing but also my eating habits and speech. And in that the Lord is sculpting away what he doesn’t want on my plate and body. So I’ve lost some stubborn pounds and I look better than ever.

I really appreciated this video. I was a High School Sunday school teacher with female students who were chronically dressed immodestly. We separated out the girls and I gave a talk on modesty. It was very poorly received by many of the students and their moms. I came to the conclusion that the message was right but I was trying to convict out of fear for them, for their testimony. Convicting is not my job; it is the Holy Spirits which you beautifully shared. Heartens me that it is ok that they didn’t hear it from me. The Lord will teach each of them when they are ready to hear. Thank you for the gentleness of your presentation and for being vulnerable enough to share.

You are so beautiful and I love your message of modesty!! I am 40 years old and I was so slow to come to the desire to live modestly. I was 35 years old before I really thought about dressing modestly. I have been a Christian almost my whole life, but I really started to press in and draw closer to God in recent years. Modesty just naturally seems to come when a woman is trying to live a Godly life.

Bindi, this video is such a blessing to me. I'm an old retired lady now, and was raised in a church that taught modesty. Not that all the girls in church followed the guidelines, but my family did and I feel it protected me from many pitfalls. My high school years were during the mini skirt era. I bought One skirt about four inches above my knees, head to beg my parents like crazy to get it. They finally gave in because I was short, so it was a lot longer on me than what the other girls at school were wearing. We had moved to a new state and I wanted so much to fit in. I wore that dress to school once. I felt very fashionable, like the other girls ☺️ My handsome English teacher noticed my scriptures, which I had with me in class, casually asked about my church affiliation....and suddenly my right-in-style dress felt at least a foot shorter. I knew the Holy Spirit was telling me this way of dressing was not right for me The feeling was undeniable. I went home, told mama about it, ( she was not surprised) then got out the sewing machine and turned that mini dress into a blouse. Since I am not tall I felt really awkwardly proportioned in dresses "to the knee", which was our church's guideline in those days. Dressed that length were matronly, but everything in the teen departments was short. So I worked on my sewing skills and began making my own dresses, with long graceful full sleeves and the skirts right down to the tops of my shoes. In four years of high school no boy treated me disrespectfully, and no one offered me drugs (which were rampant in our school). I asked a friend about this in later years and he said no one offered me drugs because they knew I "wasn't the type". That was a blessing I didn't understand till after the fact ☺️ Years later, post divorce, raising four kids alone with plummeting self esteem, I loosened up my modesty standards bit by bit until I became an ordinary wearer of shirts and tank tops....which always felt a bit uncomfortable but by then I was in a church that didn't have a dress code so it didn't matter. Or so I thought. As time went by the Holy Spirit saw fit to convict me again, and bring me back to the straight and narrow and back to modest clothing. By this time all the stores were carrying " body conscious" clothing and the Holy Spirit flat out told me "You have no excuse to not dress modestly, you own a sewing machine, you know how to sew, you live in a city with fabric stores...". My choice to obey this guidance came in steps, as my job required us to wear uniform pants and a company polo shirt. My compromise was to wear long modest dresses in my off work hours. It was at the time the best I could do. Within a few months of my decision to obey and asking for further guidance in my life I was promoted to a supervisor position and told "Supervisors are not required to wear uniforms, you can wear whatever you want". All the other supervisors, mostly men, wore khaki pants and polo shirts or button down shirts. I asked the boss "Anything I want to wear? Because in my real life I wear dresses.". He could have said no, dresses would not be practical....but for some reason he gave me permission, and so I've been in long modest dresses ever since. He also sent me a new crew member for my team, a pentecostal woman who had gotten special permission to wear a long skirt as part of her uniform instead of the pants. We helped keep each other encouraged. The dresses were a great help at work, the men felt comfortable around me because I was clearly there to do my job not to try to get their attention. The women became like sisters to me, they knew I was not in any way competition to them. The wives of my male crew members were not concerned about their husbands having a lady boss because they could see I was a peaceful and harmless person. Modest dress, which I had once thought of as a church imposed burden turned out to be a spirit led blessing and protection. Sorry this is so long, but I'm just so happy about finding you and am feeling reassurance that not the entire world has gone to heck in a hand basket ❤️❤️❤️ As long as there are still women like yourself, listening to the spirit, obeying the counsel they're given, and sharing their experience, this old world will come through alright. ☺️

I’m much older than you (57), and in a different country (New Zealand), but I too am on a modesty journey. I didn’t grow up Christian, but when I first read the Bible, modesty and gender distinctions stood out. To be content with more of a natural appearance (regarding makeup), lessening jewellery, and dressing modestly has been a journey over many years, and still is. Thank you for such a positive and honest video ❤

As a believer and abuse survivor, I know that your message has truth in it. I would caution, however, that we be very careful when talking about protection and not placing blame on the wrong people for unwanted attention, i.e. adultery .I have been assaulted as an innocent child, assaulted while modestly dressed from head to toe and street harassed for minding my own business and attempting to stay away from ungodly men. Dressing modestly is a very small piece of protection, but we as godly people must do much more to protect our children and women from monsters in our own family as well as in society. TRUTH at its highest form is the greatest protection one can have!

It is absolutely insane that this video popped up for me "randomly" just when I was having a mental battle over the issue of modesty and the popularity of sexy clothing primarily on social media an hour prior. As a married mom in my late thirties, I began my journey with God a little over a year ago. Many things have changed, especially my way of thinking and acceptance/participation in regards to certain social issues or activities, etc. that were not a "big deal" to me before. However, I have noticed that the more I engage in social media and encounter posts of beautiful women with immodest outfits, I find myself craving that attention or validation for my self from the opposite sex to affirm "that I still got it!" Which is ridiculous because I never have had it! 😂 Goes to show how vulnerable we are to the enemy's tactics, especially if we are early in our walk with the Lord and have not established solid communication in which we can rely on yet. This was a great video and the wording to explain your personal views were ideal for any woman to have a what could possibly be a life-changing take-away, even if not Christian.

Me and my husband moved to a new place and I made a very special friend who naturally always dresses very modestly, and is meek and childlike in character, faithful, humble, and kind, never failing to serve others. She was key to helping me make the switch, because I am a very socially-oriented person, I tend to want to please people instead of God unfortunately. But the Lord blessed me with a friend who would encourage me in His standards. He is good

I’m 14 and honestly it’s hard trying to dress modestly especially because of what people these days encourage us young girls to wear. I use to wear jeans/pants, but The Lord put it on my heart to start wearing skirts more and dressing more feminine after watching a few videos of other sisters and their modesty journey and what The Lord revealed to them. However, I still wear sweatpants because they keep me warm and they’re cozy :). The Lord also called me away from wearing makeup because it became and idol and it was used mainly because I didn’t like how I looked without it. I used it to entice those around me, but The Lord has changed me both on the inside and out. I feel more confident with how I look without it, but at times I need to humble myself. I miss wearing it at times and pants also, but I don’t want to disobey The Lord and break His heart. I struggle at times because this is not easy. Seeing others wearing makeup and pants made me not want to give it up, but I’m trying my best and trusting The Lord. God bless you all and remember great is your reward in Heaven 😊❤️

Bindi you are living my dream life! I am newly saved and my husband is not…I already do all of the duties of a a SAHM but I also work full time. I have such a deep desire to step fully into my role as a homemaker. As soon as I was saved I did the same as you and got rid of almost half of my wardrobe. I am stepping more into modesty as time goes on and I’m loving it. The gym has been a struggle though because of leggings. I have just been wearing oversized t-shirts over my leggings but I hope to one day be able to work out at home as well. It’s very difficult to go to a gym and not attract male attention no matter what you wear. Anyway now I’m rambling but Bindi if you see this please pray for me and for my husband and that he soften his heart toward the Lord. Peace be with you. This has been so wholesome...it's a conversation you dont hear everyday. I am in my 2nd year in my salvation and just started my modesty journey. I am excited to change my whole wardrobe.

I was wearing a modest and feminine skirt and top at my local grocery store one day. I received a sincere compliment from a man passing me by in an aisle. “I love your skirt” he said. I just said “thank you so much!” It’s a good feeling.

What’s interesting to me is that the more modest I am the more compliments I get from my husband, I feel more cherished by my husband.

Immodesty has such a grip on our young people. I am a youth... I have found much respect from wearing modest clothing. I have sisters who are very immodest, and tho it might be cool at the moment, it never lasts. I'm growing more and more in this. I just pray my siblings realize the value of it❤

CHRIST has really worked with me on this. Last year I changed my entire wardrobe. For me it was a process that happened over years but once it clicked I've never turned back. People are always so nice to me now. I agree with you about the love and honor part. I receive this often now from strangers. Some family have attacked me about being modest. Telling me I've changed so I know I'm doing something right.

I didn’t know that I was embarking on a modesty journey until I saw this video. Something has been changing inside of me for the past few weeks where I have been drawn to more coverage in clothing. It started with needing to buy a swimsuit. I have a large chest, and every top that I tried on exposed far too much skin. Ever since that day, I’ve been paying more attention to what I’m putting on my body. I went out and bought loosefitting pants because I realized that my skinny jeans were too formfitting. I’ve been trying to wear higher coverage around my chest. My husband has always wished that I would wear dresses, but I never felt like they suited my body type. But today I went out and bought a dress and when I showed him when he got home, he was stunned. To see that reaction from my husband was really motivating for me to wear more dresses and skirts for him. Although I am just now starting my modesty journey, watching this video was so inspiring that I’m going to start making it a priority in my life. Thank you.

I am so glad you are getting this message out! When I was 27, the Holy Spirit worked with me in the same way. I am 71 now, and dressing modestly has been one of life’s joys for me. My mom never understood not wearing pants, but my heart knew it was wrong for me. My husband has loved me for 54 years now. I wish more girls and women could experience exactly what you and I have experienced. The Lord’s blessings that comes from obedience about our dress.

Pausing the video to say... The analogy with the sharks was perfect! Edited to add: Okay, I finished the video and I 100% love everything you've said. My modesty journey started about 4 years ago. It started with my hair. My hair has always been a point of pride for me and I think this is probably why He worked on that, first. Not long after I started covering my hair (within weeks), He convicted me about wearing makeup. In the last couple of years I have been feeling the need to either wear a skirt, or a tunic over the top of my jeans. But my butt and crotch need to be covered. I've always dressed rather conservatively - jeans and a t-shirt most days. I've never been one to show cleavage, wear mini skirts, or wear tight clothes. So, there hasn't been as much that needed correcting in my closet. Though, lately, I've been questioning the wearing of t-shirts (I still wear t-shirts, just with skirts now) that have text or an image on the front. I don't wear things that are tight, but is the text (usually a Christian message) drawing attention to my chest..? This is the question that's been running through my mind, lately. I'm not sure if that's me or the Holy Spirit. When I started covering my hair, I think my whole family thought that I'd lost my mind. My husband wasn't against me doing it, but he also didn't 100% agree with me doing it, either. A couple of months ago, my husband told me that he was proud of me for my obedience to God in my modesty journey. That made me feel really good. :)

Joyce, I started following you years ago because I wanted to start locs. I started them, and combed them out but I never unfollowed. I recently got baptized and started to follow the Lord with sincerity. The Lord has been whispering and sometimes loudly speaking to me about my appearance, and now you are back in my algorithm. My modesty journey started after I got married. My husband married me as I was in university, wearing skinny jeans and tight clothing, looking for validation from men. However I started to become aware of the need to be more modest and elegant after I was married and started experimenting with wearing longer, looser dresses and my husband actually loved it. I started to notice when I dressed that way that he would have a certain little grin on his face when I walked by. I also felt much better in my spirit and conscience about dressing that way so I have continued ever since. I don't have any friends or family that dress the way I do. I get the feeling that they feel self-conscious of the way they dress when they're around me but I don't want to offend them. I'm just trying to be a good example to them without saying anything

This came at the right time. Just when I had an inclination that I have been dressing and behaving in ways that dishonors my husband in terms of modesty, and that I need to practice being modest. This video pops up as a suggestion for me. That was God!

Wonderful message, very wise for such a young woman! It breaks my heart to see some of the ways women degrade themselves for attention, especially since so-called Women’s Liberation was supposed to end all that. I know it’s far worse now for women than when I was young back in the 60’s and 70’s. People like Madonna, wearing lingerie as clothing, started it and now we have people like Megan the Stallion performing simulated sex on TV. I hardly ever (if ever) post comments on youtube, but I just had to say Thank You so much for making this video, and thank you to all of the women who also commented and shared their hearts. I am so incredibly encouraged by all of your words and stories. I never thought I would find such a large group of women who values modesty in my generation. My mother raised me with strong modesty - yet fashionable - standards, and it has been so difficult maintaining it over the years…especially when my christian female peers and the men in my life mocked and jeered me (or pressured me to be more “risky”) for having convictions about it for as long as I can remember. I cried hard watching this and reading all the comments, because I finally felt like I wasn’t alone anymore, and that God is still speaking to his girls. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to find a teaching that helps women to know that we should embrace the beautiful way that God has created us . I am thankful that there is an appropriate way to dress, and live, within the feminine gender role that God gave us as women. Thank you for making this video! I am a Christian teenage girl and about a year ago I got into historical fashion. After a few months I started realizing how covered women were through most of history and how drastically that has changed. Since then, I don't wear any bottoms that don't cover me from my knees up or tops that don't cover my torso entirely. I never really consciously connected modesty with godliness until I saw this video. It's so refreshing to see something like this on KZfaq! I cringe at shorts and crop-tops now, it seems that the internet now considers wearing what is essentially a bra in public socially acceptable.

There is great power in women who accept their natural femininity. It's a different power from the male one that comes from the threat of violence, but it's at least as powerful if not more so. Out of the blue, I felt the Holy Spirit tell me to avoid putting tip nail extensions on. My sister received the same direction the same week. Coincidence? I don't think so. I haven't worn extensions since, and I am saving money too. 😊

Loved this and is so true. Modesty is a feminine characteristic. You can be sexy for your husband but when presenting yourself to the world…modestly is where it’s at. I need to buy more flowy dresses.

As a modest muslim woman I agree to everything you said related to modesty sister. A little difference in Islam is that the modesty rules are set clearly by God, unlike the Christian teachings, (in a way just saying dress modestly can mean different things to different people just to avoid that from happening). This could almost make me cry because it’s a similar journey to me but I hadn’t heard anyone else speak about it. My wardrobe 5 or 6 years ago was totally and completely different from what it is now. I have pretty much ditched make-up , my clothes are way more modest. It just happened, God just put the desire in my heart thankfully! the shark analogy was extremely on point, lustful views always made me uncomfortable. I remember in Miami I noticed a lot of women didn’t wear bras and as much as I love the freedom of not wearing a bra I don’t like people looking at my nipples I don’t understand how people are okay with that it makes my skin crawl

I was stopped by a woman at Lowe's and she told me "thank you for wearing appropriate clothes, these days it's rare to see young people in clothes" i was so shocked, at that time I struggled putting on right clothes, and that stuck with me

I just "stumbled" on this video today and I am loving it. I wish I heard this when I was a little girl. Women, teenagers, and even little girls need to be talked to about this topic. God is working with me in this area of my life for the past few years.

This is beautiful. I have been on a similar journey for a long time and one of those “bonuses” is that it has influenced how my daughters dress as well… I have 5 daughters; 4 of them are teens, and we have had no issues with them wanting to dress to fit the crowd or draw attention. And we have never told them “no, you’re not wearing that… you have to wear things like this” or anything of that nature. They have taken their cues from me without me saying anything. And they each have very different styles; so it is not like we are a cookie-cutter, stereotypical modest family… but I think they just feel their worth, and dress accordingly.

Oh sweetheart I’m so proud of you. I have tried to teach my girls (3) that modesty is very important. You don’t have to go around looking drab or dress in ugly clothes but modest clothes can be beautiful.

I've only seen two of your videos, but wow, have I ever been blind. I never realized that "modesty" was anything more than just an adjective that described plain, boring, or small things. You have opened my eyes. Now that I've seen that modesty is actually a character trait, I've also come to recognize how fostering modesty in all aspects of our behaviour brings about honor, self-control, and self-worth. All these fruits fuel what our unbelieving society would recognize as "inner strength", but I think that what they are really seeing is the power of the Holy Spirit shining through our bodies as we decide to treat them like the holy temples that they were intended to be.

This topic is COMPLETELY overlooked in the church. This past Resurrection Sunday my HUSBAND commented how unbelievable the women were dressed - their lack of modesty and how many dresses were so short they could not pick things up, bend down to help their children and how many bare and low necklines. These words came from a MAN. This has been a serious ongoing issue, and I have even personally witnessed women worship leaders stand dressed without modesty. Your journey has brought you to the beauty of Christ. My prayer is that our women will find this sooner, and even faster than your journey. Men respect self-discipline and honesty. A woman being modest shows that a) she's not seeking sexual attention from strangers (sexual self-discipline) and b) that she's honest enough to communicate it through her clothing. That's why men honour you more when you're modest.

Queen! I am so happy I found this channel. I’ve been looking for so long for a female YOuTuber to look up to. I’ve noticed a lot of women talk about God on here and have lovely wisdom and femininity but wear tons of makeup, weave, use profanity, listen or use secular music on their videos, or wear il-modest clothing. Not saying they are bad women for doing it no judgement towards them. It took me some time myself to learn how to be modest myself. To be modest is an inward adjustment as you said. And God daily delivered me from my old desires as I obeyed his teaching. And through that I was able to heal from trauma that drove this il-modest behavior. My moto is “I am who God says I am and only what he says about me is true” it’s my mantra. It’s so refreshing to see a lady on here who looks like me. I love this I've been going thru a similar journey and honestly the shift from lustful attention to I'll say "wholesome " attention was never expected but majorly appreciated. There's nothing wrong with being Fine but being called beautiful hits differently.

Being a Christian woman I strive to be all that God will have me to be and dressing modesty is something I’m in the process of doing. I’m a single Christian woman that desire marriage but I want to experience that honorable love ❤️ thank you for being transparent. I actually heard the Spirit say to me "only dresses" and it's not doible for me from one day to the next but He actually confirmed it by leading me to a store and giving me a dress that was on great discount hehe. I was not so girly before but I like it more and more. You said it best that it just fits as best as daughters of the King!

The timing of this coming across my feed is phenomenal. I have been going through this same exact thing lately. I have been constantly wearing cover ups and even looking into getting more cover ups 😍💯😌🥰 this is such a breath of fresh air that I needed. Cause every where I look I’m seeing how I used to dress and get sad because I want more females to dress like this but Lord willing we will get higher rates of modesty over dressing lustful.

I am on a modesty journey as well. I too only knew lustful attention from men and most of my life I sought attention because that’s how I felt pretty. The LORD is changing all this so gently and is changing me! Praise the LORD.

Not sure how these videos popped up in my feed but I had a recent encounter about a month ago the Lord spoke to me and said, now I need for you to dress differently. So I feel like this is a reminder. I love all of your dresses by the way. I agree its a restored righteouness in relationships with one another.

You are a blessing for the body of Christ. My modesty journey includes a headcovering. Everything you said was spot on, because I've received the same from the holy spirit (almost shocking). I must admit I do feel protected and respected. I Will never go back. I still need to throw out a few more things and sometimes old habits can resurface, but I feel uncomfortable, remorseful and just repent. Just the idea that my husband Will be the only one seeing my body, is so beautiful. Remain blessed ❤

I loved this! 🥰I’m currently in my modesty journey. I feel everything you said. I always had women envying me and complimenting me. Some going as far as saying they would do porn if they had my body. 🤦🏾‍♀️As I’ve gotten closer to God I’ve feel the holy spirit tugging at me when I wear certain things and like you I sometimes feel that FOMO from getting attention. God is still working on me.

So glad KZfaq recommended this video. I am 58 years old and the Lord has been speaking to my heart about dressing modestly. I was never the type to wear sexy or provocative clothes but was wearing more pants than skirts or dresses. And the pants were not loose fitting. We are never too old or young for God to teach us or show us things that needs to be dealt within our hearts. I applaud 👏 you sister! Keep letting God use you!👏🙏

I am 71, Apostolic Pentecostal, and dress modestly. I wear jeans when mowing and working outside. I occasionally wear capris in the house. Otherwise, skirts and tops and dresses. A year or so ago, a gentleman approached me in the store. "Please excuse me -- and don't be alarmed. I only wanted to thank you for the lovely way you are dressed. I wish more women would look like you." When my dad was in a nursing home, the staff and several residents would comment on my clothing and how nice I always looked. Some would ask why I was dressed up . . . Thank you. It's just an every day outfit I would say. Modesty isn't a burden. It's a blessing. I loved your comments on royal clothing. After all, Christ-followers ARE representatives of the King !! God bless!
