Bioshock infinite was the first bioshock game for me, and man did I fall in love with it. Looking back on the game now, even with its flaws, I genuinely get teary eyed every time I boot it up and launch DeWitt up into the floating city. Thanks for covering this. You've made my day.

Personally I enjoyed Bioshock Infinite more than the Previous Games. And The DLC added was also interesting. Going back to Rapture and Being able to see how the city was before everything went to hell. The 2 gun limit was a bit of a pain in the neck. But it was also nice to play a game where the Main Character didn't Have infinite pockets. Elisabeth is also one of my favorite characters as well. Tho she doesn't fight that doesn't mean that she's useless. Finding Things you need at the time in battle in a big help. Especially if you are playing on the hardest difficulty. And being able to bring things from an alternate Dimension is also a Interesting concept.

I thought they could have done so much more with her tbh. So it felt lacking. I think the 2 best parts of the game are #1 the intro of course, and #2 when you are alone in the asylum with VERY few ways to gather ammo. Kept me on my toes and using the melee to fend off foes more often.

I played the first one and tbh, I did not expect so much nonsense to make perfect sense. The end was beautiful. Someone close to me who died before it released, looked so forward it. I played it for him after avoiding it so long. All 3 were on sale. The story was so good and filled me with memories of them. Now i'm addicted playing the DLC.

The way they did Songbird in made me angry. Would have rather finished him directly in an epic boss fight or had him do so saving Elizabeth from a different threat. Just looked it up to make sure I didn't misremember it and it still hurts. It's like the big daddies. They just want to protect their little sisters. You were freeing them(if you played the good guy route) but they didn't know that so you were a threat. Still were able to fight them to the end. They didn't get to have time to slowly die freaking out about failing their charges. Just an aggressive fight then death. I dunno, maybe I just identified too heavily with Delta from Bioshock 2.

I was more fixated on Elizabeth being treated like a tool or toy than the “tears” and I was more interested in exploring the Columbia that is tied to our world than the multiverse…. which became it’s own tropy trend. The music alone was worth it in my opinion.

There was so much I loved about this game. Booker DeWitt remains one of my favorite protagonists. Elizabeth was awesomely written. The race to save her following her capture was riveting, showing how much I'd become attached to her character. As for the plot, I've seen a lot of criticism that the plot was convoluted and impossibly confusing. I found it very satisfying to figure out, especially when thinking of it in terms of real world physics. I haven't had that experience since.

I had one of the most intensive first 2-3 hours I have ever had in any game in this. There was this point after you rescue Elizabeth the first time, songbird attacks and your skyrail breaks. Booker reaches out to grab Elizabeth's hand while falling and at the time I let go of the mouse and almost threw my screen off the table because I reached out at the exact same time. This has never happened before or after. I'm usually not that emotional. The shooting parts later on in the game are super boring and repetitive but I will always remember this game fondly for the story and character interaction.

Good game, interesting lore, horrid team. My account was put behind a 20$ pay wall by a gifting scam, which is when someone buys items, gifts them to other people (who can't decline it), then cancels the payment. The support team then, instead of removing the item, demands payment for the item.

I love the world building in all of the Bioshock games. The narrative made it better. Characters were interesting. I'd buy it, if they ever made a Bioshock 4 game. I doubt they will, but it's awesome. There is a rather short, but enjoyable book called "Bioshock: Rapture" by John Shirley. It's set in the early days of Andrew Ryan. You learn more about his idea of building a beautiful city free of small minds called RAPTURE!!! Sorry. I couldn't help myself. I recommend reading it, if you were into the story & background of Rapture before things went sideways.

To add two things he missed from a gameplay perspective. You can get items in the form of gift boxes hidden throughout the game that give you abilities, they are random though. And you can find upgrades that you can choose between hp, sheilds, or salt (the Eve equivalent)
@noob5267

Gears aren't enough to mention. You get 4 and they are all basically useless except the ones that cause enemies to light on fire after hitting you. The tonic system highly overshadowed it so it's probably why he didn't say anything about it. Because the gear system is just laughable. And you had upgrades to health and "Mana" in the first two bioshocks as well. So not worth mentioning.

Some of the problems you attribute to Elizabeth's Ai being limited don't have a damn thing to do with Elizabeth Ai. For one the idea of a sandbox was dropped rather early in development because Irrational wanted to tell a certain type of story that wouldn't work in a sandbox. The small maps and smaller number of enemies are the result of the the game needing to work on that generations consoles. As for Tonics they were replaced by Gear that the player could switch out at will. The biggest problem that exist in this retrospective is that BioShock Infinite is NOT the story of Columbia. BioShock was about Rapture, but that is not the case with BioShock Infinite. *This game is about Booker and Elizabeth.* I don't know why people can't see this. sm
@noob5267
@noob5267 3 жыл бұрын
It was replaced by gear but gear isn't a tree-like system like tonics were. You could have something like at least 15 tonics active and for the most part all of them were useful. You get 4 gears. And very few are useful. Could have done the entire game without the gears and it wouldn't have felt any different. So that is NOT a comparison at all😂

It was a great game in the wrong genre Where the first 2 where more open world, fps RPG Infinite was more linear fps with a story The world was the best part of Infinite, Eziabeth not being about to combo with your plasmids was disappointing she was good as well Definite the combat was its weakest point - the lack of variety, lack rpg elements in the guns (only 2 and upgrades where uninspired) and Vigours being kinda boring
@buccob

I enjoyed this game a lot, but I tend to like darker games, specially survival ones... So after playing and loving the original, Infinite was a bit of a disappointment since I was always expecting for it to turn dark at some point... but it was always "happy" and "joyful" in terms of the environment. Throughout the game I ended up missing the Big Daddies and little sisters, it really set the tone for the previous titles. Maybe if I played Infinite first I without any previous knowledge of the series I would have enjoyed it better.

It's evident you weren't a fan, I just watched you complain for 13 minutes about every single perceived flaw and just find it laughable that any good points you attempted to give it were quickly swept under the rug and went right back to the verbal jabs at it's shortcomings. Is it the best BioShock game? That depends on who you ask, when I first played it I was blown away by the setting, the well written characters and the link to the first game in the franchise, it brought it full circle and every time I go back to play it I'm constantly amazed at how well they linked a seemingly unrelated entry into a new mythos. It's obvious I'm a fan of the title so naturally I'd defend it, I'll acknowledge some issues I had such as pacing in some areas and sudden difficulty spikes, but good Lord man, this retrospect was just a hit piece plain and simple.
