Of all the iconic moments in video game history, the descent into Rapture for the first time has to be one of my absolute favourites. Just getting that initial glimpse of the scope and scale of this amazing city made me want to explore every inch of it, to uncover all of its secrets. Such a beautiful and well imagined place. I'm literally on like, my 10th play through rn. Just got done w Arcadia yesterday. Something I love is when you have the tonic that makes u go invisible, I'll just go invisible in an area and watch people walk around and listen to the shit they say. My favorite game by farrrr

Yep I say that all the time when I’m asking someone for something. It drives my roommate crazy, he had no idea where it even came from then played bioshock once and was like 😑😑😑 he picked up on it immediately so it blew the surprise for him. Whoops 😬

@@iceheart1289 right, I forgot about Warcraft. for example Death Note on Netflix, I know its not a video game, but of all the anime out there, that was probably the easiest one to adapt, Into a perfect single high budget season. But not only did they incredibly fuck it up, they tried to crunch the story in less than two hours WTF. Not everything needs to be a movie

Recently did a replay, it definitely holds up. Had a great time playing and the atmosphere was just as powerful.

Even when I was spoiled the ending cause I was perhaps 10 years late to the party, Bioshock 1, 2 and then Infinite turns out to be one of the best narratives I have ever enjoyed. The subtle character development of side and main characters through the recording were simply genius, and the plot twist still holds power despite knowing them beforehand. I am also relieved that there is an easier mode so that even newbie in FPS and Survival Horror like me can enjoy it to the fulllest.

Bioshock one and two are the dead space one and two for me the first one dives you into it’s world filled with truly scary moments whilst the second one throws the action and expands on the story but doesn’t forget what made the first one so good

@@Neb_Raska as far as the action goes yes, and being a big daddy was dope. However u can never beat the story of the first or the atmosphere. Like seeing gatherers garden or Arcadia for the first time. Or the whole run in with Sander Cohen

I'm actually bought in on xbox store a few months ago and yeah it's still scary, what scares me is shit happens around u and if ur not paying attention u wont see it. So I always have this feeling I'm being watched

I remember picking bioshock up for the first time. I was like 7 maybe and had NO IDEA what I was buying. I thought the cover was cool, and Its still my favorite game. I still replay it every couple of years.

Sometimes you can just look out the windows and enjoy the ambience. Water dripping whales singing while they swim over you. Awesome game.

It's interesting how a low budget can strain a games development but at the same time bring on new and creative moments like when you wake up and meet Tenebaum. She stands on the other side of the glass but because of budget and time restraints they made it so the light from the ocean shining through the window allows you to only see her silhouette as she paces back and forth talking to you while smoking a cigarette. It worked so much better than just creating her character model and seeing her entirely.

if theirs one thing that's always captivated me about Bioshock, it would be the city itself,despite the damage it took during the war. there was a still haunting beauty to it.

I love Bioshock! The underwater Art Deco utopia is a fantastic setting and the story is a very catchy one. Memorable characters and the iconic duo: Big Daddies and Little Sisters. A masterpiece! I've also played the 2nd and the Infinite (great Belle Epoque setting in this one) iterations and I like how all 3 are pieces of a puzzle that comes together in the end.

Spoiler to bioshock infinite Well according to bioshock Infinite they say that the 2 cities r from 2 diff universes,they go with the whole multi-verse route where they explain that there’s always a lighthouse and always a city. But the 2 lead “scientists”from both cities did seem to be communicating with each other somehow to fix issues they both had with their experiments .

I really hope that this game franchise makes a comeback, the story is so unique and compelling especially when compared to a lot of trash games nowadays. I absolutely love bioshock I'm glad people including me are still uploading content surrounding it. I've been trying to reach out to content creators to try this game out as I really want Bioshock to rise in popularity again. Thank you for uploading this :)

Many people actually don’t really know but the main idea of the first Bioshock is the critique of Ayn Rand’s utopian society of anarcho-capitalism. I am not saing its very smart reference (critisism of anarcho-capitalism is a very simple thing) but if we compare the plot of Bioshock to other games’ plot it stand out as something more intellectual. Andrew Ryan’s name amd character is basically direct reference to Ayn Rand.

Literally my favorite game of all time! When I was a kid and the would you kindly twist happened I was shook to my core never before had I thought why I was completing objectives in video games and it really just made me think why we do the things we do in video games. Like dang I thought I was in control the whole time but nope I didnt have a choice it was mindboggling to experience as an 8 year old lmao

First played this after receiving it as a birthday present and from start to finish was pulled in on the story. So many levels of depth and twists I never saw coming that to this day still make me think "if I saw the subtle nodes back when I first played it have changed things for me going forward". But I'm glad I didn't see them as it made it all the more impact when it came ti the ginal twist

This game just holds up so well. The graphics still look pretty good for the most part, and even though the gameplay isn't the best technic-wise, the story and atmosphere it creates is still one of a kind. The only game that really captured the same feel for me was Prey.

Armin Shimmerman (Quark from DS9) did the voice of Andrew Ryan. Also check out Bioshock Rapture. The book that tells the story of the events that lead to the first game.

This is by far one of the greatest games of all time from the world building to the atmosphere and great gameplay on top of it and of course one of the best WTF moments of all time with that twist that rivals Kotor there is a very good reason this game is in my top ten favorite Video Games of all time!!!!

*SPOILERS FOR BIOSHOCK* I will always remember the will you kindly moment. I was about 13 years old and my mouth literally dropped and was hanging there for about a minute. Still to this day no game in either a movie, book, or videogame has given me that sense of absolutely being blown away by a reveal as Bioshock did. One of my favorite games of all time, still play it from time to time.
