You ,it seems, don't have much knowledge of classical music development in India. In Mumbai itself you will get atleast 100 singers of this calibre. Anyway, both are singing well.

No audience in Pakistan for this.While India is the only place which still has a knowledgeable audience.

@@vhtevhte you are not aware. Pak classical artists have a huge following in usa. Both indians and Pakistanis are the audience. See the followers of classicals are refined and very few . It's normal.

I agree that these artists may have a refined following in Pakistan as well,but from whatever vedios that are available on you tube their numbers appear to be very less.Even great Pakistani artistes have to resort to light music to engage their audience during their programmes.Also there is this vedio of the great Salamat Ali interview wherein he is almost to brink of tears over the condition of khayal,and thought he was ready to teach,there is a dearth of students.I may be slightly wrong but the above facts are the reason for my impression.

@@vhtevhte you are correct. The audience are different now . Though Pak has talents students are hard to come to learn. Like Salamat Saab, Nusrat Saab had expressed same views. Over few years Nus studied, which raga appeals more. He also reduced each song to almost half from 40 to 15 mts. People don't sit long. They walk away. But Bollywood found it's own way. Based on popular raags were done within 3 to 4 mts. Old songs that are popular had lyrical power too. After jagjit gazals are few. Well those who like real classics still depend on old classicals. Mostly based on hindustani music from Punjabis of Pakistan. India will do with 4 mts songs. What can be done? Yes Maharashtrian talents contribute well too. Thank you sir.

@@mem1001953 We in Pune have our most prestigious annual classical fest the Bhimsen Joshi Sawai Gandharva fest which receives incredible number of audience.Wish such programmes come up in Pakistan too.Only then there is a possibility of the Sham Chaurasi school of music to be survived in its purest form.
