I see that other people have already commented about how the crowd was saying “we love you“ and she was replying with “I love you“. Laura was going through a really tough time and the audience knew about it and they planned this way of telling her that she was loved by them. It’s even more touching when you get that. At one point just before she was starting to sing, someone in the audience yelled “don’t sing Lara”, basically saying that they were going to sing to her … about how they loved her. The reply she said near the beginning is something along the lines of “you caught me off guard“. Anyway, this is the most amazing audience interaction I’ve ever seen. It would’ve been amazing to be there. I’m so glad they gave that gift to her … and to everyone who gets to watch it like us. And yes, I’m not ashamed to say that every time I watch it I end up with tears in my eyes.

Some say that the fans have saved Lara's life. She was vry depressed due to rly serious personal and professional problems (some of those are the reason she is not well known in America). And the fans knew it and surprise her in that concert.

Her fans had contacted her pianist and arranged this epic and beautiful tribute to surprise Lara during a personal crisis of losing someone close a few days before this concert. So 6000+ (some say up to 8000) joined in singing her song and when Lara sung: Je T'aime (I Love You) her fans responded: On T'aime (We Love you!). At the end of her performance and still overwhelmed she adds an additional line: “You see, I love you like that” to her adoring fans.

Dear Bisscute, thank you so much for your heartfelt reaction to this performance by Lara. Many others have given you some back story, but you didn't need it as you were able to read Lara's face, which says a lot about you, as a special person. Others may talk about the tuneful singing of the audience, but for me this clip says everything about Laras loving personality. Some artists would not allow them to take over her song, but Lara embraces them and not only permits, but encourages them, while she absorbs all of the love they generate. The "Nue" concert has often been called a love fest.

I heard that it was a collaboration between her pianist and her fans. I am not schooled in music and is it just me or did the pianist skip her que to her amazement first and than realizes she's been set up, so amazing and well deserved love from her fans.

Hi Bisscute! Lara Fabian's first concert after the death of her beloved Gregory Lemarchal. She was deeply depressed for a whole year. But then her producer, pianist Rick Alisson, still persuaded her to perform a concert. She came out, but at first she couldn't sing. And then the whole hall stood up and sang this song ... replacing the words in it, "Je t'aime" (I love You) on "On t'aime" (We love you)... Lara was in shock and couldn't hold back her tears!.. After the concert, Alisson will approach her and say, "See...and you said that you have no need to live... live for them, for people..." GOOD LUCK!

In my personal opinion, she is even the best. Her lack of renown in the USA, stems from René Angélil (Céline Dion's husband/manager) worried that having another Montreal based superstar might outshine Céline's star, so they pressured the record company to back off on Lara's US launch/tour. She had no choice but switch labels and concentrate on the European and Latin-American markets, she is huge in the Eastern Block, Russia in particular, where she is acknowledged as a true Diva!
