On Kaiserreich's division limiter mechanic, you can turn that off in the game rules prior to starting a game. You can turn it off for everybody, leave it on for everybody, or leave on for only the AI. I usually do the last option, as I prefer to make my own sized army while preventing AI spam for lag. Removes the challenge somewhat sure, but the AI seems to pump out a lot of division still, so not too big of a change. Oh and the Papal State isn't meant to be unifier so can only core certain historical states, so big sad :(

The Italian factions get to inherit each other’s ships if they capitulate. So there’s an incentive not to naval battle each other since you inherit whatever is left over, this includes peaceful unification as well So by the time italy unifies you can become a dominant naval power

@@mistermidwest Italy definitely has a decently strong navy to start off with, and can easily withstand the French and British Mediterranean fleets as long as it’s utilized correctly. Italy has no problems becoming the dominant Mediterranean naval power in the game

You can change the division limit in the gamerules I believe, generally I think just leaving it for AI is the best since that is kinda the purpose to make it so there's less lag from AI, which it kinda helps with.

The division limit seems like a good idea for keeping lag down, but the limit should be much higher than it is. With holding all of Italy the limit should have been at minimum 48 units for 2 whole armies.

You can set it to apply only to the AI. The issue is Bitter has a habit of not checking settings for mods.

If you're stuck in grind wars like this, leave one port in enemy hands surrounded, and insta-destroy divisions as they land with support attacks. Farms score and kills divisions. If you can naval bomb all the better, but even if you can't the casualties you inflict can be insane.

I felt like you too. Until I started making 2 armies. One to defend ports and one for the front line. You don't have to fill the defensive army. Good luck!

You can disable division limit in the game settings if you want

The fleet thing only happen in Italy. You get the fleets of other italian nations if you are one yourself but not from anyone else.

If a ship is repairiing and you capture the port its repairing in you get the ships

Division limit is a good system. (Germans lagging the game by 1943 in vanilla having 800 divisions somehow)

Nah the division limiter is smart. It helped many people play into late 40s without the game being a slog. However, if you really dislike this feature there's an option to turn it off before starting the game ( Options in Country Selection )

Ah too bad the early footage was lost, i like the earlyb (setup) parts (struggle) the most. Once you get rolling, SP is not super hard vs AI imo.

Hey bittersteel I have a semi problem so i play on hoi4 on a laptop and I was doing a Britain game I activated alliance 1373 so I could kick out the 40 german divisions out of the Congo but then Portugal declared war on the Spanish and I got spamed with join war request and it crashed my game is there a way to fix it in settings Edit I fixed it my God my computer is gonna mealt and Gibraltar fell

Yes. Just not majors as much. For example, it prevents the US from building up nearly as much pre-civil war.

I wish you would make a normal players where you play as Germany and win ww2: Take over the soviat Union eastern Europe all of Frances and thr Uk's colosnise and defeat them. Take over the U.S and take back all the lands Germany has taken in ww2 and do this without puppeting any countries. I think this would be a pretty hard chalange and would be different then most chalanges since you start strong. Like this to show you also want that

I appreciate you finishing this playthrough but wouldn't it be better to just restart the recording/game seeing as about a year's worth of gameplay is just missing? It would've been time consuming but overall would've made for a better video than just starting off mid-way through.

Never been that big a fan of HOI4, certainly one of my least favorite PDX games by itself...but holy SHIT does Kaiserreich make it an addiction anyway. The mod's so good that it basically makes the game by itself, I can't remember the last time I bothered with vanilla.
