Glad you liked it. The story relates to Ren’s medication for various conditions over the years, including antidepressants like serotonin. It’s about dependency but also the feeling of hollowness you can get from habitual medication (like walking around in a floating chalk outline, not really being alive). Popping pills just in case you feel bad later. Being scared to feel ok because you know it will only be temporary.

The song is about being given prescription medication for depression by doctors and becoming reliant on them, and losing/erasing your personality/character, hence 'walking around in a chalk outline' and 'erase yourself in a chalk outline'. Sertroline is an antidepressant and Seratonin is a sleeping aid

But the medication eats up your life when you do that. Turns you into floating chalk outlines.

Love Chinny!!! Her and Ren just posted about working together again in the past month so we should be seeing more from them together. How To Be Me Live Ren X Chinchilla is heartbreaking. Ren and Chinny busking - 2 videos - sexual healing and another with a Drake and Beyonce mash up (can't remember the songs.) Chinchilla alone is a beast and very Girl Power! Fingers Live for HungerTV, Little Girl Gone Official Video, Little Girl Gone Live (Requiem), Cut You Off, Elements, her audition for The Voice UK.... She's unreal! ❤❤❤

Chinchilla little girl gone was all over the Internet you probably heard bit's of it it's a girl power song like most of her songs are and yes fingers live hunger tv is one of the best 😮

When you dig into Chinchilla a little more you’ll see that this is a fraction of her vocal power. She doesn’t have as extension back-catalogue as Ren, but she is still in her twenties and her recent tracks have been amazing. Ren and Chincilla describe themselves as musical siblings, and both write and produce their own tracks. Chinchilla also has some hilarious TikToks/KZfaq shorts.

There is so much pain expressed in this performance. I liked the comment that you ladies made about them not being together musically, and that that was expressive in itself making them seem more insane, more alone. It is not a happy song. Keep Reacting!

The "disconnected" ending is the disconnected feeling you get on the drug. Also, the light zap in the start is EXACTLY how my wife describes one of the side effects of one of her prescription drugs... an occasional brain zap.

8:26, Chinchilla and Ren wrote "How to Be Me" (2019) and "Chalk Outlines" (2021) together in a way that's open to interpretation. You don't have to know anything about their backstory to appreciate these songs, except for the last line of "How to Be Me", which is solely Ren's voice talking about a personal tragedy.

It's about the effect of taking the antidepressant drug, Sertraline. I was prescribed it for 4 years, and it perfectly describes how you feel - empty of emotions, good or bad, you just become a "chalk outline".

Great non reaction girls, that was enough of a reaction in itself and preferred you didn’t pause this one as it is so captivating. Art is open to interpretation but I believe the story behind it is due to all the meds he has been given over time through the medical and pharmaceutical industry. Just saying take this one and you’ll be fine. Most of those pills just numb you so you don’t feel anything hence turning into a floating chalk outline (like from a murder scene) Defo need to do how to be me live and their two busking sets one sexual healing and the other one dance. Very good versions. When I came on the live you had Heretic up but looked like it wasn’t on the live as it only captured some on the recording did you do that one and more as I feel I missed a few. The only one on the live I see was uninvited again. Stay well Peace

We are going to have to redo "Heretic" as youtube deleted our live all together and warned us, not sure what we did wrong or what is and isn't okay to play on a live yet, so we're still trying to figure all of this out when it comes to streaming lives. I have figured out some filters on OBS so maybe that will help.

I know some live streamers will use a filter to prevent the live stream being blocked.

Having taken Sertraline for a number of years I see it as the fact that the medication can bury the anxiety/depression, but it suppress so much of who you are that sometimes it feels like the real you is dead and what theworld sees it just the chalk outline around your dead personality. That’s just how it felt to me, but the beauty of this track is that it is open to personal interpretation, and no view is really more or less valid than another.

Your new videos don't show up in my subscription feed. Do you have the option disabled to publish to the subscriptions feed and notify subscribers? I think it's in the advanced settings when uploading.

Good catch on how they weren't harmonizing. It's what's called a counter-melody ... you don't hear it a lot, and it's such a shame. It's such a shaaahaheyhame. My favorite part is when Ren stops playing and it's just their voices. The entire tone / mood changes and it illustrates just how much even one single guitar can add to a song, and how powerful the artists can be without it too.
