THE ABC'S OF SALVATION
A = Admit you are a sinner and you can’t be perfect and holy enough in God’s eyes to be right with Him on your own. Turn away from your sin.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Rom. 3:23
B = Believe that Jesus (God in the flesh) died on your behalf to pay the price for your sin and to give you a way to be right with God - to be forgiven. He lived the perfect life you couldn’t live. He died the death you deserve and rose from the dead in victory over sin, death, and the grave on your behalf!
“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus, our Lord.” Rom. 6:23
C = Confess that Jesus is your Lord - this means, Jesus is now your Master and you live your life for Him and His glory rather than for yourself. You say it out loud to others and you live it from now on. You lay down your will and your desires and follow Him, inviting Him to direct and use your life for His will.
“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.” Rom. 10:9-10

Bitterness is a socially acceptable thing in our society. It's even seen today as a virtue, in many cases. But the truth is - it is extremely toxic.
You may think you are punishing someone else by holding a grudge against them. But you are actually poisoning yourself spiritually and poisoning all of your relationships.
In time, if you cherish bitterness in your heart, it can become your entire identity and purpose in life. It turns your heart to stone. It saps blessings and the power of the Holy Spirit from your life. It is a spiritual prison.
Have you ever been around someone who held onto bitterness for decades? What does the atmosphere feel like as soon as they come in the room? How enjoyable is it to be around them?
Resentment left unchecked lead to the death of relationships and families. It can also lead to many chronic health problems. And it separates you from Christ and close fellowship with Him because it grieves the Holy Spirit.
It can feel scary to get rid of bitterness, at first. The enemy of your soul would love for you to think you are giving up your "rights" and "power" if you forsake your resentment and decide to forgive and do things God's way.
God's way doesn't mean you say nothing and do nothing about other people's sins. You do. But without sinning in your own heart.
Giving up bitterness is really about giving up the enemy's authority and control over your life. It is about getting rid of spiritual toxins. Satan knows you will experience freedom, peace, and joy in Christ when you give it up as you yield to the Lordship of Christ. That's why he doesn't want you to repent from it.
Jesus knows it is life-giving to forgive and to invite God to work in our pain and in other people's lives for His glory.
Forgiveness doesn't mean we trust others if they haven't repented and rebuilt trust. But it means we are set free from the enemy's snare. And we are open to the provision, love, healing, and miracles of God.

Bless you dear April. This is so true! It is especially hard to let go of things when others profess to be Christians and don't have any sincere love for you or others or you question whether they actually love Christ at all! I am always asking the Lord to help me forgive and have a heart that doesn't judge or condemn others. It's really sneaky and something we have to be vigilant to guard against daily. We all need to examine ourselves and pull out the logs in our own eyes. When I focus on the perfection of Christ and His goodness verses how awful and bad I've been in the past it brings contrition and peace for sure - it brings me closer to Christ and the joy found in the gospel and I can cleave to His promise that He will save me from all my sins I just need to trust Him and do my part when memories of offences pop in my head to ask the Lord to bless these people instead of entertaining and thinking and talking about it over and over again. I am so disheartened and sad for all the public fighting quarrels and disputes on social media between people who profess the faith. Despite having valid reasons sometimes in what they are saying I just wish they wouldn't dishonour God that way. All the bitterness is so ugly and doesn't glorify God. Your channel is so refreshing and beautiful because it doesn't shame others it simply edifies and encourages. May the Lord continue to work mightily in and through you dear April for His glory. May we always abide in Christ so our joy would be full, may His peace reign in our hearts, may our hearts have no will of their own but to do His good and perfect will and may we be overflowing with the hope we have in Him rejoicing and ready for His appearing. Sending much love and many blessings to you and your family from Australia

This is so very timely for me right now... today! I've been struggling and failing miserably with bitterness and anger. I "know" the truth about it but when those emotions get a good grip sometimes it seems so hard to let them go. Your message was a timely reminder of how sinful my attitude has been. Thank you very much April!

If you make it a practice to spend time in the word..you will be nourished. You won't feel so overwhelmed. Make sure you have good brothers & sisters in Christ to pray & fellowship with.

Yes! We want the feelings to come first, then the actions. But that is not how this works. Obedience to God first. Then feelings usually come later. Blessings!

Years ago I worked in a nursing home where there was this one old woman who lived there and appeared to be out of her mind. She would constantly talk into the air to someone who wasn't there in an angry voice about another person, usually another woman she had known, shaking her finger and telling how bad the person was or how nasty the woman behaved. But it sounded more like gossip and spurious conclusions than facts and careful observations to me. Looking back, I think she had a root of bitterness. I thought to myself I sure don't want to end up like that. Poor old woman.

That is so very sad. I agree. I don't want any of us to end up overpowered by bitterness. Not a good life to choose.

Rose B - I'm thrilled that you have recently received Christ as your Savior and Lord! That is the most exciting news ever! If you get a chance to check out those links below the video, they may be a big blessing during your quiet time this coming week as you study forgiveness and bitterness. Lord, we invite You to open Rose's eyes and to illuminate her heart to find Your wisdom and truth. We pray for Your healing and leading to help her find the narrow path You have provided for her that leads to abundant life as she trust You and commits to following You in everything. Thank You that You began a good work in her and will be faithful to complete it. Amen! Blessings! If you need to talk more, please let me know.

Hallelujah that you are a believer. That's fantastic! I believe forgiving is a decision but oftentimes it's a process as well. Pray for those who hurt you as Jesus taught. In time..your heart will soften and the bitterness will go. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom & discernment so you can see who may do you real harm. God wants to protect His children. He's a good Daddy.

Years ago, I wasn't ever peaceful. Now, I am generally peaceful the majority of the time. If something big comes up and I feel thrown, I take some time alone with the Lord to work through my thoughts and to remind myself of God's truth and promises. Then I can rest in peace again. When my heart is set on Christ, I have peace. This is a gift that God generously offers to us all through Jesus, the Prince of Peace. For examples of how I wrestle through emotions, negative thoughts, or hormonal issues, you can search my channel for things like: Taking Our Thoughts Captive for Christ PMS Emotions Negative Thoughts Fear Anxiety Blessings.
