I apologize for the lack of uploads the last few weeks. With a mix of staying home due to lockdown and also my Twitch streaming schedule, I've lost some motivation to work on JoJo videos for this channel. That doesn't mean the videos will stop, but they might not be as frequent. I've tried to do weekly videos, but lately that has not been the case. All I can do is apologise, but I appreciate every one of you for sticking round and continuing to watch the videos.
Diver Down won the poll on my last Stand Analysis video, but only just barely. Anasui's Stand is a very interesting Stand to discuss within Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, and has a power that has divided the Jojo community. How does it work? We all have our own interpretations. I will attempt to explain Diver Down in the most accurate way as possible.

Diver Down is the Stand of Narciso Anasui, one of the important side characters in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6 Stone Ocean. Diver Down can phase inside objects and mess with their inner workings, whether it be a wall, an object or a biological body. In fact, it can even mess with certain Stands.
Diver Down was used for various reasons. These were to permanently damage an enemy from the inside, disguise himself or others, protecting others as well as morphing objects or walls.
Diver Down was a tough one to explain, and I had to research quite a bit, looking into the details of it's abilities with some form of common sense (if you can call it that when it comes to Jojo logic) and come to the conclusions of how the Stand works. I firmly believe this explanation is how the Stand works, as per intended by Araki. Let me know if you agree/disagree.
I hope you enjoy this Stand Analysis Diver Down Explained video. This is a Stand I had to really research to analyse accurately, but I feel like I did the Stand justice. Sorry this one took a while. I've been slow with uploads lately. Motivation has been lacking, what with the lockdown here in the UK and other things getting on top of me. It takes quite a bit of work to do these videos, so I'm sorry if the releases have slowed somewhat. @@L-and-Lala kinda? He knows she'll never love him back, it's involvement is more about fighting for something that could his life meaning. Jolyne's love is a unachievable goal that keeps him going, when he appears aggressive his more like that he is desperate, in reality he would have been a chill dude, if it wasn't for the murder, Wich he clearly regrets.

He's like a Part 5 tribute. His design is similar to Abbacchio and Diavolo and his stand is like a more developed Sticky Fingers.

This comment is a year old but, yeah i totally agree with that. Also out of topic but, i do personally agree of the headcanon where Anasui is Diavolo's illegitimate child.

@@absolutelynotellen That would make Anasui Trish’s illegitimate brother and therefore Anasui would have a older sister he doesn’t know about (nor does Trish). Plus that would also make Anasui half italian by blood. And if we’re going by this theory se can most certainly assume that Anasui’s mother met Diavolo after he faked his own death by burning down his hometown and (probably) before he became the Boss of the Italian Mafia. And then for one reason or another she broke up with him and left him to then travel to the USA after she had given birth to her child, in turn making Anasui orphan of a father figure. And/Or even outright fatherless now that Diavolo is stuck in the Death Loop for eternity… Not sure how likely it is for all of this to be canon considering these many implications, but I still find it to be a neat theory to think about. Fun speculation imo (and apologies for the slightly long comment but I had my fun roaming about it, would you blame me for it?).

The energy storage ability DOES get used again, whenever diver down phases into someone to protect them, by storing the enemy attack and reflecting it onto himself. It can also bring people and objects through whatever he's merged with by using restructure to create empty pockets the exact size and shape of whatever he wants to bring through, like the money he steals through the wall.

The energy storing basically means that Diver Down could hit a wall when an enemy stand dodges, and then have the punch stored and immediately released through the wall, meaning as long as DD hits something, he can practically never miss. That wouldve been a great use of his ability if it was used more

I never thought about it before but your coverage of Anasui changing his own appearance made me realise that when Stone Ocean gets animated, they can actually explain why Anasui was a female at the start; he physically changed his appearance to move through the female side of the prison so no one would look twice at him while moving around the area

Thank you for clarifying and specifying the "diving" part of Diver Down's ability. You have no idea how annoying it is to see people call this Stand...nonsensical is the best word I got, simply because they over look the fact that this Stand takes advantage of the natural phasing ability all Stands have and makes it work with its ability of reconstruction. Very good video as always and nice catch on the manipulation of Stands too with reconstruction. I actually didn't even think about that with Yo-Yo-Ma!

Just had a thought, could Diver Down kick a ball, store the kick in the ball and have Anasui just... fucking hurl it at an enemy Stand User? If that would work, would it work on individual bullets? Give Anasui a fucking assault rifle, and have him rain hellfire upon his enemies.

That sounds awesome, but I think he can only store his strikes inside objects and those strikes cannot interact with the object. Though, this is JJBA we're talking about. If he stored a punch into a ball and then had its fist come out and punch the ball itself, it probably could launch it that way

Really really good! As soon as i saw the D's i clicked on the video... Diver Down might not have the most intricate capacities at first sight but it actually has quite the meaning and utility,pretty cool one of my favorite part 6 stands. I think the next one could be one from part 5 or part 4,i'm thinking of clash or oasis and from part 4 i think aqua necklace or surface could be good ones

Hold on If diver down's ability POWER STORAGE was used on something that need to be touched such as the stand arrow in part 5 and he used a lot of attacks on it Wouldn't it be almost the worst idea to touch it making it the best way to keep an object safe?

I always thought that if DD could power transfer *grabs* into objects, the power transfer would be viable against stand users. Think about it, DD or Anasui is recovering from a heavy attack or acting like they had just tripped, DD grabs an object to pull them both up and it seems like no big deal. But when the enemy stand user gets close to it, that arm could grab them or their stand and now they have a free hit on the guy.

You should Try Reviewing More Stands from Phantom Blood/ Battle Tendency, very Ignored parts in terms of stands and its sad to see cause I think It has some really cool ones.
