Hi max , bike looking good , i,ve got a intercepter and allways thought the back end looked wrong , you've nailed it there , the seat , frame loop and longer mud guard , and the bigger tyre , reminds me of a norton comando , on the next vid do a close up of the head mounts and fork covers cant really see in detail , really like the look
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 3 ай бұрын
Hi Mark! Yes, I was the same - didn't like the look of the rear end. It's better now, but If i did it again, i would go for 17in 150/60 tyre and not 150/70 as I have now. Yeah, I can do a close up vid on these details.

@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 2 ай бұрын
Hey Adrian, thanks for your nice words! Well, I’d guess if I was a plumber the manifold was a work of art:)) There are a few things. I noticed that I stopped enjoying making videos and it turned into a race for the schedule and KZfaq algorithm. And the quality and visuals began to suffer. So I stopped. I realised I am not a full time KZfaqr. So now I release a video every now and then when I have something to say, and I take my time to record and edit it, so I take less shortcuts. I am working on my next video and I hope it will be ready for this Saturday! In regards to the bike shed expo - I forgot to remove the cat eyes / reflectors on the forks. It was a rookie mistake. Just kidding though. Not enough custom for them. Need a custom paint job, crazy fairing and cut frame it seems

I like that smaller headlight, don't bother removing the throttle slack, it creates other problems and can make the bike a bit twitchy, you can brush the throttle when using the brake and go instead of woa, I fitted a yamaha R6 throttle from Alli express, you get to keep a bit of slack but get full throttle movement without adjusting hand position, acceleration off idle is so much nicer, works well with RE bar end mirrors as the R6 grips leave about 13mm of bar showing and the bar ends fit on nicely so no more bar showing.
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 3 ай бұрын
Hey! Sounds great, I was thinking about a quick action throttle, but removing a slack was really a first quick step for me. I know there are down sides, but it is all personal preference and I love the feeling of how the bike responds now. I rode the bike with domino quick throttle fitted and it was fantastic. I will check that Yamaha r6 one you suggested!

I would suggest tank pads for that old school, cool look.
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 4 ай бұрын
Hey Steve! Yeah! Both trip machine and raw and rugged have very nice leather pads. I don’t know about the grip, but they look decent. However, I found out that Union Jack on those pads cause quite a controversial reaction from people… I don’t know why? Everyone knows by now that this used to be a British brand now owned by India. Who has a problem with that?!

It looks fantastic. I’m in the process of deciding whether to keep mine and make a few changes or trade it in for something new. How do you like the 14T sprocket? I bought one and I’m just waiting for a nice day to put it on.
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 4 ай бұрын
Thanks buddy! I am in the same process to be honest, but to be honest every time I start thinking about a new bike and open autotrader I complete a full circle and come back with an idea that this bike is a good match for my style of riding and my level of skill. So I will keep it for sometime, and all these aftermarket parts available bring a feeling of a new bike at a fraction of a price. 14t sprocket is awesome. But it is purpose made. If you want more pull and ready to sacrifice revs at motorway speeds- go for it! I loved it. I did it to all my low power bike and I loved the change. It takes 30min to revert the mod so you don’t loose much trying!
@elwood62
@elwood62 4 ай бұрын
I have a 16 on the front now and 6th gear is pretty useless at speed. There’s no difference between 5 and 6 now. 14 will be a good change.
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 4 ай бұрын
@@elwood62 let me know what you think after you try! Because I also got both 14 and 16 and 16 is just sitting there… I would say that with the 14 you have more gears in the most useful speed range. On the motorway 6th gear feels like 5th in terms of revs
@elwood62
@elwood62 3 ай бұрын
@@thesundayridesI finally put on the 14t sprocket a week ago. Really love the pickup but it seems to make the bike very buzzy, if that makes sense. I was switching from a 16t so maybe that made it more noticeable. Especially on the highway it really lost it’s top end. So today I put the 16 back on and it’s as smooth as butter. Rode 100 miles to confirm it’s the right choice.
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 3 ай бұрын
@@elwood62 thanks for your feedback! Great to hear back to back comparison. Perhaps it’s the buzziness that I enjoy with the 14t. However, I also have 16t laying around, I might try that as well

If you could swap this bike out for a different modern retro, which one would it be? Bonneville T100?
@thesundayrides
@thesundayrides 3 ай бұрын
Hi there! What a great question! I am considering a new bike, and here is what I think: Bonni T100 - could be a great option with a full BAAK kit and chunkier tyres. So quite expensive to build. Speed Twin 1200 - an awesome bike with plenty of performance. I like it more than T100. Still expensive, but this is very likely to be my next bike. Triumph Bobber - very good-looking and lots of potential for customization, but not sure about its practicality and ridability Kawasaki z650 - a black sheep. there is a huge potential to make a one of a kind Z, bike isn't expensive and handles well. Ducati Scrambler 800 - to top my game But.... do I want another naked bike? I actually might go ahead and buy Yamaha Tracer 7. I think it will perfectly suite my riding plans for this summer.

Hahaha that was a little joke. There are reflective orange “cat eyes” in the bottom of the forks. I am not sure that’s that way to call them but that’s how I always used to call them.
